I can tell you now two things : 1) When they answer ,The grandma and girl don't think about the innocent people in Gaza , they think about the terrorists who did these vile things and the people who willingly harbor and praise these monsters for the horrors they've inflicted. 2) IDF pulled out of Gaza in 2005, since then its been Palestinian Land and a lot of aid money was transferred to that land , including Electricity , internet and water that are still supplied by Israel and the Gazans decided to take that aid money and buy weapons and support Hamas who did what they did , if you claim they are not responsible for the state they are living in , why do you want to give a state to people who refuse to be responsible for their choices? Is that a good solution? And 3 you are a hypocrite because if they did what they did to people you know and love, you probably wouldn't hesitate. "I am saddened by the causalities on both sides" Israel doesn't target civilians ! , also because Israelis know that Hamas doesn't give a shit about Palestinians. Their "side" casualties are either casualties inflicted by Hamas rocket misfires or Hamas terrorists that you feel sorry for. There is a great asymmetry there because they DO deliberately target Israeli civilians.

Do ordinary Palestinians have any influence on what the Hamas leaders think? Seems to me that in Gaza and West Bank the Palestinians are not allowed to have any political opinion. Around 1925 the new economy brought by the European Jewish immigrants overtook the feudal Arab economy run by Hajj Amin al Husseini and other Arab clans, and their plan to regain power hasn't changed since the 1929 Hebron massacre. Maybe when this is over they will be gone and Saudi Arabia will take a leadership role?

I still think a 2 state solution is possible but not within pre 1967 borders anymore. since the Israelis do not want to integrate 5 million Palestinians in the west bank and Gaza in addition to the millions of Palestinian refugees abroad in fear of becoming a minority. the Palestinians would have to choose either the west bank or Gaza in exchange for dissolving Hamas and not having an army for 10 years. a Palestinian state in and around Gaza would be more plausible than in the west bank because historically Philistia used to exist there contemporaneously with ancient Israel in the 2nd millennium BCE. and because Palestinians have more authority in Gaza than in the west bank.

Genetic testing shows that today's Palestinians are indigenous to the area, so they stayed, and some converted to Islam, Christianity, or remained Jewish, but there's a direct continuity from those ethnic Jews and today's Palestinians, unlike today's Jews. I don't think Jerusalem was important to most Jews, especially after the destruction of the temple. You have to understand the Jewish religion comes from an anti temple cult, named Pharisaism, I think I spelled that right, that were at odds with the Sadducees, who were the custodians of the temple cult. The newer the study the more mixing the study shows, because technology gets better, and 3. studies negating mixing don't exist, but I haven't purposely looked for them. At this point it's a well known fact ethnic Jews don't exist today, and haven't existed as a cohesive ethno religious group for 2000 years. To add to the fictitiousness of the antiquity of the Jewish people, in his latest book profesor Yonatan Adler shows Judaism dates back past the common era or so, suggesting it's a post fact creation, which retroactively projects itself into the past where it was absent. In that sense the biblical Jews are simply a social exercise in nation building, an experiment, much as Zionism has been in contemporary times. Getting back to the studies.
