Hamas believes in an ideology. Hamas as a group can be defeated but as an ideology, it keeps spreading. It is difficult to defeat ideology. If Hamas as group dies, another group will replace it. That's the point.

Tough questions are not a lack of sympathy. They are simply reality. A reality the interviewee and you would rather obfuscate than deal with. Keep your head in the sand and continue to pretend your actions do not have consequences. Reality, sadly, is harsh.

"These are human lives. How do you feel?" repeated over and over. As if there was some way to prevent civilians dying here or it was a matter to be resolved based on feelings. Hummus certainly is doing their best with other Iranian proxies (and Iran proper) launching endless amounts of missiles on Israeli civilian targets daily. And rockets were coming out of Gaza on a regular Tuesday even back when they had a "ceasefire". But ofc when Israelis are being killed, it doesn't count as a war crime, since the tyrannies make up their own rules: when infidels die, not war crime (having civilians as a target of a strike is in fact a war crime). When infidel doesn't die, it's a war crime (it's actually not). When hummus shoots rockets from schools and IDF bombs the rocket launcher: war crime (it's actually not). When IDF shoots back at an armed 12-year-old hummus combatant: war crime (it's actually not)

It's one thing to ask difficult questions and another to shout on top of the answers when they don't fit your narrative. Debates are not actually won by shouting over the other participants. Then again, was it a debate? With this guy it always seems to be, at least when a "Western" (non-DDR compatible) person is talking about wars against Russia or Iran. He certainly resembles more a security forces interrogator than your average TV interviewer. Welp...

Either way it's a ridiculous response. Sebastion asked questions of the minister that needed to be asked, because they reflect the opinions of the Israeli public, the international community, israel's chief ally, human rights organizations, and high ranking members of the IDF. Whether you or the minister like the questions and criticisms is irrelevant. This war has made Israel and its government deeply unpopular, both amongst foreigners and its own citizens. As a politician of a democracy, which he repeatedly stated Israel is, he has an obligation to answer questions about what his government is doing and his own actions and opinions on policy. Unfortunately, the minister mostly obfuscated and tried to deflect by asking the interviewer what they think, when the minister is subject of the interview. In any case, he made his opinions clear enough with what he chose to say, and what he chose not to say. Reality can't be avoided by pretending it is not what it is.

He is certainly biased and on a mission here as in many previous so-called interviews. Would be good material for a course on misinformation and how discourse is being manipulated. He is not bad at his job, he is just doing a different job than you would expect from a fair and honest reporter. For a Russian troll that would be exceptionally good performance.

This massacre is being perpetrated on the People of Gaza, mostly innocent. I believe that the government of Israel has taken a legitimate conflict of defense and security to the point where it is pure revenge and racism. Hamas was wrong to act with such with heinous crimes against an innocent community however Israel is even more wrong to react against a population of 2 million people ultimately using famine as a weapon of war. You can never regain the higher ground with such deliberate acts of violence and terror. All you end up doing is fueling the next irresponsible heinous act of violence. Two wrongs do not make one right! Especially when the victims are predominately old people, women and children and an entire culture of a community.

Then again, it was a huge mistake and the ones who are found guilty will probably not be responsible of any further strikes anytime soon. They also said it was a mistake, unlike hamas who are proud of every single warcrime they ever committed.
