Israeli Reacts Lara Fabian Perdere L'amore Reaction 

The composer of this song is Massimo Ranieri, a much-admired Italian singer and composer. The lyrics are easy to find online, but basically they concern a man (or woman) who is experiencing a brutal post break-up depression and who is attempting to make sense of what went wrong. The intensity of the words is deepened by the fact that the singer is getting older (thus the mentions of wrinkles, white hair , and time running out). He/she has lost the love of his/her life and has plunged into deep self-loathing as a result. The extraordinary beauty of the melody provides a cathartic contrast to the lyrics. Ranieri's own version is raw and intense and well worth hearing, but Lara's performance here raises the song to an even higher artistic level. Thanks in part to her own Italian heritage she inhabits the song entirely and her always breath-taking voice lifts the whole thing to an emotionally shattering climax. It's the perfect marriage of singer and song.

More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). as a French speaker I also struggled with the lyrics but enjoyed the son immensly. I love how she emotes the rage and anger one feels after a break-up especially when you somehow don't understand what has occured. Very few artists emote the way she does.... willing to leave it all on the floor in a true artistic fashion of someone who has engaged and committed everything.

Lara Fabian was very well trained by the best opera teachers from Belgium and Italy, but she decided to sing pop songs, she also has the knowledge to sing in operatic way, she studied from her 8 to 18 at the Belgium Conservatory of Music (there she learned Bel Canto, piano [she composes her own songs on piano)... Then since 1998 she kept having vocal lessons with her Italian teacher untill nowdays, she has two vocal teachers (From Belgium and Italy) and she keeps having vocal lessons at least 3 times per week on-line. Lara also workz as a vocal coach on The Voice Canada, she already worked as the vocal coach at the Star Academy program in France from 2004 /2008. Been following her since 1991 when she moved to Québec Province from Belgium. She wrote more than 200 songs, 16 albums, 30 million sold and now at 53yo still touring the world. Song seems to be basically a rant against the ravages of time obverved in one's great love over the years together. Finally, the lover resolves that , in spite of all this, he/she will nonetheless stick by the loved one no matter what. Great song!
