Lara sings like an italian, with much of passion. She give us everthing, even when she sings acapella.

I too really appreciate your technical reaction/analysis. And don't apologize for what excites you. When we have a depth of knowledge about a particular thing or skill and we find someone who can demonstrate that skill well, we get excited. I just have one complaint. I don't mind reactors stopping a video repeatedly. That's why I'm watching: to hear their thoughts and nobody can remember all they're thinking to share those thoughts at the end. If I wanted to watch it through I'd just watch the video of the song. But...you tend to stop the song in the middle of a section (grrr), in the middle of a phrase (GRRR), and even in the middle of a word (GAAAH! DUDE!)! But other than that one thing that is still making my eye twitch I thoroughly enjoy the way you choose to react. Also, you're so right about how Lara invites us in, even drags us in, to her intimate space and then knocks us about the head and heart with her voice, her emotions and her masterful skill (which most of us cannot parse but recognize it when we hear it). And we love her for it.

“Perdere l’amore” is a beautiful song by Massimo Ranieri with which he also won a Sanremo festival many years ago ! I am only sorry, as an Italian, that it is not so well known in the world, as it deserves, as well as many other beautiful Italian songs !

Dear Jeff nice technical reaction. For me, that is the best performance EVER from Lara Fabian with Je Suis Malade. So nice, so great, Lara Fabian is one of the best performer and the best emotive singer. Thank you from Montreal.

Hello Jeff! Great reaction! Do you know what? I really like your "virgin" take on Lara's song. You've graduated to "Lara could sing the phone book and I'll be still amazed" phase that we Lara Fans all reached at some point on our journey of discovering her magical talent. She is the master of her craft in every way, because she could bring her heart and soul into every song. Yes, Lara is technically flawless, but her 'secret' is the emotional investment, the instinctive understanding of how to use her vocals to serve the lyrics. Lara's performances are 10% of artistic arrangement ( i.e. bring in a chair or use only the piano or just sit on the steps with a single light shone on her) the rest is what she feels on that moment when the music starts. I have never seen her doing a repetitive rendition of a song. In her last tour in 2019 she used backup singers for some of her choirs and brought a chair and a big white sheet when she sang 'Je Suis Malade' to make her look like a mental institution patient. That was the prop, but every time she sang the song it still looked and sounded different. I have watched at least 10 different version of it captured on fan cams from all over the world and besides grubbing the sheet in the same manner as the song progressed her performances were always unique. That's why I admire her beyond all the singers out there. Lara never sings for herself or to impress with her flawless technique, she just tells a story with her voice with raw passion and honesty. That is her unmatched greatness.

You are accurate in most of your comments on artistry Jeff. Try to be a little more emotional and you will be a perfection. It's not a big deal man, you just have to relax and you will have it. Your followers will be increased. Looks like you have decided never to look sensitive. And this is not so attractive. Have you ever thought why we love this girl so much? Because her soul is always on her face. Take care. Greece

I like your style. The magic of Fabian for me has always been how she uses her absolute technical mastery to make brilliant choices to get at/present the swirling emotion of the song to the audience. Honestly, I get peeved when reactors with training say nothing much more than "She's able to be so emotionsl!" Duh. Now tell me _how_. You're fine; you give me the kinds of things I'm looking for. Please, as you and I share the same love for Barbra Streisand, react to Lara singing Papa Can your hear me/A piece of sky Live at Molson 1998. The master/pianist who had worked with Barbra for over 10 years was working for Lara Fabian at that moment, she hired him for one or 2 tours, I guess. He said wonderful things about Lara as an artist and her singing skills. Anyway, the perfomance is need to be watched. I hope you gonna like it. Thank you.

Ps:Lara also sang wonderfuly another Barbra's song at the Boston pop night concert in 2002. Barbra would sing Evergreen, but at the last moment she had a trouble, then the master Williams who was there commanding the musicians and had already worked with Lara in the song ALWAYS for the movie A.I Artfficial intelligence asked her to performing Barbra-s song, what she did. You should watch. Lara Fabian Evergreen live at boston 2002.

Thank you for another great reaction of Lara. However, why does everyone need to bring up Dimash? He has NOTHING to do with this performance. Stop pandering to the Dimash crazy fans. And to me, Groban always was and will be an amateur.

I *know* , it's turning me off the prospects of checking the dude out, for purely emotional reasons. And that is unfortunate, though I've heard the unmentionable ;-) Kazakh wonder referenced for years now most recently due to all of these mostly ignorant 'late to the Lara Fabian party', devotees' collective preoccupation with him it's ultimately not fair to the guy since it can contribute to the construction of a prejudice or bias built up prior to initial exposure.

I get annoyed when people talk about Dimash all the time, but it's because of him that americans are descovering Lara. I've been a fan since 2001 and it sickens me that she has been so overlooked, but you can thank that to Renée Angelil, Tommy Motolla and even Walter Afanasieff... About Josh, of course you can't compare because Lara is half Italian, so it's obvious that she conveys the emotions more, but he does a great job with Italian: he doesn't speak Italain and his pronunciation is great! He isn't an amateur; he's a great singer: he isn't as wonderful as her, but, seriously, who is? Love them both to the core! Have you ever seen them singing "For Always", from the movie A.I.? They sang it together in Boston Pops, in 2002. They sang both solo. Josh sang "Gira Con Me (Questa Notte)"and he was magnificent! He was just 21!

@@vervideosgiros1156 Very, very good point! There is no denying Dimash's technical ability but where he performs a song (very, very well), Lara Fabian LIVES the song. People who appreciate truly great artistry and humanity will love Lara. But they may never hear of her if others don't mention her, at least.

Perdere l'amore of Massimo Ranieri
@aldospadari4325
@aldospadari4325 3 года назад
The original song is italian. The singer who won Sanremo Festival in 1989 was Massimo Ranieri. The sing is not properly for a woman. It a masculine song of a man who lose his love for a woman. Infact the song said in a passage "Perdere una donna è come avere voglia di morire", that it means "Losing a woman and it's wishing to die". Lara Fabia sing not a cover but in a good italian language because she has italian-canadian parents. The pronounce in italian sounds like very sweet because of it.She is very beautiful woman and full of talent, too.

This song was NEVER sung by Josh Groban! The only italian song that he and Lara sing is Caruso, by Lucio Dalla! And you're comparing an italian singing in Italian, which is one of her languages, with an american singing in Italian, when he doesn't even speak the language! It's unfair...of course she conveys the emotions more, because it's HER language! And Josh does a magnificent job in pronunciating Italian! The ones that criticize him for singing in Italian are just americans, because anyone who speaks Italian, as a mother language or not, know that his accent is on point!

I gave up Jeff asking you to be more emotional and I just became a subscriber. Because regardless to your "cold blooded" reactions I think your comments compared with others deserve many more followers. I 've seen some very young reactors having hundreds of thousands followers without remarkable comments or no comments at all. A resent example that made me lost my mind was a young girl with 939thousand followers! Police should deal with such illegal issues. I insist of course that you have to make some exceptions, break your rules and honor this fragile girl with more sensitivity. Lara is not anybody. She faced a lot of personal and professional tragedies (love issues, health issues, cancer, heart attack, loss of a baby, rejection from SonyMusic due to Celine Dion's husband etc) and came very close to commit suicide untill that incredible audience on her historical Paris2001 concert restored everything (screaming to her "we love you" in "je t'aime" etc) and changed or maybe saved her life as she almost admitted later. Anyway, do as you like man. I think this was the song which made Dimash a huge fan of Lara. Take care. Greece

@vasilisalphaalpha1399 Год назад
No Jeff, about Dimash I mean "perdere l'amore". With "je t'aime" 2001 she couldn't get any fans of her voice or performance, she almost didn't sing because the audience did it for her. We also could have lost her from weight loss when she became 47kilos in her suicidal period. Look at her, she is extremely smart but very humble and gives herself with no second thoughts, her easy short insecure laugh even after an incredible performance tells everything about her childish character. And in addition she is famous and busy. Easy famous and busy. An ideal package for a man to take her for granted and feel jealous and unsignificant with her glory and betray her and leave her after he gets what he wants. She had of course quite enough tragic love stories because of her good heart. Try to make an exception Jeff and be emotional with Lara. She worths every bit of it
@vasilisalphaalpha1399
@vasilisalphaalpha1399 Год назад
Anyway from now on we are talking about the past. She must choose the right time to withdraw because her voice has started to betray her. She no more tries high notes neither long breath notes. I like those who know when and how to stop from what they love. Artists, athlets etc. Two famous actors are resent examples of this. Daniel dei Lewis and Gary Oldman. Our best female singer in Greece last year anounced her withdrawal from singing because her voice had started to betray her and she started a successful career in acting on her 60y of age without any studies. Women don't really need to study acting a lot because they are experienced actresses pretending 24 hours a day to survive in everyday life. Lara could also start easily an actress career because she has studies in acting and maybe that's why she is the queen of emotional performance. To stop something while we are on top of it instead of being beggars for applause tells a lot about us
