Issue 2 of the G5 MLP comic is ROTTEN. 

Yes, I'm aware that Pipp isn't using her phone, but is instead pretending to use it. I don't know how I misunderstood the intention of the joke while reading the first time, but hey, we all make mistakes.

Tbh, I wouldn't really blame Sunny being overly excited. I would have the same reaction too when I somehow got teleported to Equestria. Also you said that they are out of character but you didn't mention Zipp, Izzy and Hitch. I actually think Hitch got more character here than in TYT and especially MYM.

It's hard to take what discord say to heart. He has lied many times in g4

This is going to be a long post -0:30 I think it would be a stretch to call Pipp a "Rarity clone". She's moody from being the butt of jokes, being literally dragged into a 3 hour trek and losing her phone's power -1:50 It's very likely that Argyle taught Sunny about the Mane 6's adventures, especially from the Friendship Journal -Why did Discord age if he's supposed to be immortal? -Apparently, Discord was the 7th member of the Mane 6, but not Spike? What the 💩? -Why would Discord let someone hit Fluttershy and get away with it? -I'm pretty sure that Fluttershy and Discord are not married. Discord compliments her multiple times in the comic and if they were, he would've mentioned it -I don't understand Twilight's plan: Did the crystals extract all magic, or did they alter it like in Make your Mark (where ponies power the crystals' magic and vice versa, and a simple disagreement could cause magic to glitch)? Either way, this is far-fetched to say the least; not only did life collapsed not even a generation later, but why didn't the Mane 6 just confront and defeat this shadowy pony like they always do, and bring everypony else to their senses (like in The Ending of The End)? Magic was never the problem; the problem was the hatred spread by that shadowy pony. -Instead of Sunny fangirling every 10 seconds this should've happened when they entered Canterlot (like in Disney Atlantis): Hitch: What is wrong? Sunny: Oh nothing... I just got something in my eye... You know my dad used to tell me stories about this place as far back as I can remember. I wish he could be standing here with me... -still no explanation for the downfall of Equestria, why the crystals were separated, the absence of non-pony species, and the lighthouse

I feel that Discord wouldn’t be the one to tell the truth as he is the unreliable narrator type as well as testing those who to determine if they are worthy of a certain type of power or his trust

This is pretty much what I expected from a IDW MLP comic, honestly.

From what I could see in the video it almost seems like whoever was writing decided to just write Sunny like Twilight.

What, c'mon. Sunny was just excited to history being in front of her. Like discovering a lost ancient city would be. Also, Pipp made the click noise herself, that's why the speech bubble pointed to her. She did it over not being able to get over her phone being of no use to her.

That IDW writers didn't seem to watch the show, i woudn't say those comics are even canon

To be fair this is only part 2 of maybe 4 arc. Sorry it was 10 comic arc

Honestly the only thing I even care about is Discord’s return. He’s not the same but at least he’s better than in pony life. That is the only reason I bother reading the comic is because at least one character I will be content with. I’m really just too nostalgic and and favorite Discord too much as a character.

I honestly didn’t really see anything wrong with Pipp’s characterization here. Yes, she’s been shown to be a lot nicer in the past, but everyone has their moods. The stuff that happened to her in the first comic (nearly dying, being covered in goo, phone dying-taking away their ability to call for help, should they need to, etc) would make anyone understandably agitated. Add the trek with fan-girling Sunny to that, and it’s reasonable to think she’d be more than just a little irritated. If anything, I feel this made her come across as more realistic, because no one is sweet and bubbly all the time. Fan-girling Sunny was kind of hard to deal with, and I agree a bit out of character, but hopefully she’ll calm down a bit. Overall the comics are what I expected. I’m not expecting super great writing or plot-lines in a story where the target audience is 8-year-old girls.

Would mlp g5 be better if it not in the same universe in G4

but but but but you should just turn your brain off and enjoy it! /s it's sad when there is fanfiction with better writing than official material written by paid professionals.

hatter over here is forgetting this is Hasbro tying future show to the past show dumb guy needs to calm, down. g5 is still figuring out what it wants to be.. I despise the show in its entirety but found the comics comprehensive and well planned out...
