I just recently got into issues at the beginning of this summer, and I hate that I've slept on them for so long.. Aj has easily become one of my favorite guitarists. Not only is this the tastiest and most mature take within this style I've ever heard.. But the chord voicings are absolutely on point, especially when played against that tone that shimmers with such brilliance.
This particular album from them has just been a real pleasure to listen to. I feel like this whole album helped in describing this particular year for me. love these guys
I stood 3 feet away from him in concert and he was smiling so much and ahh! He's such an inspiration and talented musician. I wanna meet him sometime soon!
For those who want tabs for this song, head over to my channel. I did a guitar cover for this song following AJs playing and also tabbed it out in PDF and guitar pro format.
There's a vocal "playthrough" of a couple of Archspire songs. Now, it isn't super special seeing Tyler perform vocals raw, since it's obvious he can do it. But if he ever took it a step up, then a vocal video would be smart. Oli from Archspire has speed paired with some complex words, so that's a good reason to throw in a vocal run. This, he's just doing most things other vocalists do.
Amazing to me that out of both of these playthrough videos he did, no one has discussed the guitar's pickups. I know it's a Kiesel Aries axe, but can ANYONE tell me which pickups are being used here? I also have always wondered what type of pickups he used on the 'Headspace' album. I performed & recorded in Tyler/Michael's former band 'Woe Is Me' for a bit so I know how amp settings and picking techniques are key, but the tone from the pickups themselves on Headspace is absolutely incredible. Any help would be wonderful, thanks!
Tones from Headspace are actually in Kris Crummett’s first Kemper pack from STL Tones. I believe it’s a Marshall JVM on the OD2 channel, orange mode, running through a Soldano 4x12. Hope that helps!
