The 'Purple Curse' 🤣 Nice to know that it's not just me. Worst I got was an elbow on a bit of carelessly left stencil paper while drawing up a design. Purple Elbow is a bitch to clean off and not that obvious to find in the first place 🤦 🤷
I came from a fine art background and the 2 hardest things about transitioning to tattooing are that I cant just lock myself away and tattoo what I want when i want and put in the hours of work it takes to be great in a certain style because I have to wait for clients to want that style of work. The other hardest part for me is not being able to put the tattoo away and look at it later with fresh eyes then work on it again then put it away then work on it again etc etc like I would with a paintings. I end up posting hardly anything on my social media because when I look at the photo later I critique it so hard I feel it's not worthy to post up.
I would say post everything. If only for yourself to see your progression. Also a 'coffee break' is a good way of stepping back for a second when tattooing.
Good morning ! Oh i can sooo relate to that feeling of deception creeping in when looking at my photos. That : " isssaaaahhhggg" under breath moan... I'm lucky to have a cousin that is objective and critical of my work. She tells me when its good and when its not and why. It helps because i see things that she does not so I know im more critical of myself than others will be. "Tattooing is easy when you dont know how, the more you learn the more difficult and complicated it gets" because you now know what you can and cannot do yet. Great video, loved the format, small snippet of everyone chiming in. I do prefer the longer version but this was very interesting! Have a great week!!
We are going to be doing some live stuff but there’s a lot to figure out in order for it to be how we want. 🤘 also there’s fitting it all in with tattooing and everything else :)
