I'm going to make a container out of a leaky Jerry can just like you did and buy a second gas can mount for it. That was a very creative idea you had there!
If you lay them over too long, they start filling up the cylinders and will hydro lock but generally they have normal oil pressure until they are completely sideways. Some guys do run sump systems so they never loose pressure but I just run stock pumps and I have not had any problem.
