If you can't clean it up on the combine, use a scalper before it goes in the bin. Don't put a lot of crap into the bin because that will give you grief. You may have to run it between two trucks with an auger, with a scalper in between taking out the junk. We had to do it with sunflowers on occasion.

Thanks for another great video Chet and crew. It was really Interesting and enjoyable to watch. You all are having a frustrating time getting the combines to process the soybeans properly. Seems any adjustments you do are just not helping. I agree with your thoughts Chet, that the soybeans had so much enter seeding and that they vary so much in any one field, makes it hard to combine them properly. Hang in there with everything and hopefully the combine process will get better with the different varieties and fields!!!!! Hang in there Chet!!!’ Seems the combines are really struggling to process the grain. Thanks for everything. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve PS. Love the new intro. We’ve fought this same issue with soybeans the last few years. We’ve basically decided that between fungicide advancements and soybean genetics, they just don’t want to mature and die. I believe desiccation for soybeans may become a lot more popular.

I believe the elevator chains are stretching faster than you’re used to… because we know many of the parts we replace and some of the original parts are inferior products. Maybe monitor your chains on a tighter schedule than what has been in the past… cheap junk needs closer scrutiny!! Keep the great entertainment coming ! Thank you Larson Farms.

We had the same thing in south central Illinois the bean stem were green drys were dry you can’t get them out my group 4 beans were 8% when i cut them 2 weeks ago and to add i had more combine trouble this year then in the last 5 yrs

Corn here in south central Texas in July started harvesting around july8 then started getting rain which made the weeds a nightmare in some fields

I truthfully don't know what to say about the New Intro ! Being an Old retired "vidigit", Every so-called Editor is a Legend in Their Own Mind ! It puts me into the old " Ice Road Trucker" into mood which was like making a feud exist between members of cast. You guys are just Doing what needs to get done on a farm of your size. Hi Chet a couple ideas on your black bean dump cart you could maybe weld a extension on the high side of the box so the cart doesn’t have to get so close to the truck since you’re not overloading it otherwise maybe a portable belt conveyor similar to what Mike Mitchell has by his bin site and either fill gravity boxes with the combine and dump them on the conveyor and into the semi or possibly dump trucks with grain doors in the back dumping into the conveyor might give you less cracking beans

Minnesota had too much rain, Ohio, Iowa & Alabama had a dry hot season & Welkers…third drought season. ☹️But, harvest was better than last year. Why can’t rain just fall where it’s supposed to fall when it’s needed? The sky is full of weather mod flights. PA’s sky looks like a crossword puzzle most days. Guess we’ll never see a Cinderella season country wide for our farmers.

My dad farmed in Southern Minnesota for 50 years. He said the only ideal years were 1963 and 1977. He retired in 1990. Since then maybe 2017 was nearly perfect.

First. I like the new intro. Duggo and the concrete had me rollin. About your chain derailing. From what I can see in your vid, the bottom sprocket looks really sharp/worn. Obviously you have a better veiw then us but perhaps if you can compare it to Brodys to see if they look the same.

A stick or bunch of bean stalks pulled in between the sprocket and chain can cause the chain to jump.

How well does GPS work when you cut on a slight angle in beans to reduce wear on the cutter bar? when I put in directions in my navigation I like to make a few u-turns just to keep it thinking.

If everything went perfect it would not be real life. Next time you weld that socket grind a v notch between the two pieces before you weld to help with weld strength.
