You guys are hilarious! You should do farm comedy skits! You could probably get them on some ag show on tv! I worked for a Deere dealer for over 30 years. We were cutting bolts off and using them for alignment studs many years ago already! But I give you all an "A" for enginuity using the auger to get that gearbox up there! That was pretty damn clever! Keep the comedy and the lesson of the day coming! Steph should proably be the director though! You all stay safe out there harvesting your corn!
Steph, I feel for you and your Dad. While watching Mark and Dane changing out the gear box up on the bins, is obvious that their IQ’s combined won’t equal a potato, but they are having fun ! God Bless you all !
Steve. Backing up in the middle of a quarter section is like driving your pickup with the tailgate down. Nine thousand things can happen and they all are bad!
I worked for Deere for 36 years and helped procure various components. The support that you said was pot metal is an aluminum alloy made by the die-casting process. The snout, or point, is made out of polyethylene in the roto-molding process. It used to be a rough rule of thumb was that the service parts price was about 4 times the cost to manufacture. Now-a-days, that multiplier varies depending on other things like warehouse space. There were a number of entertaining tidbits like the auger crane, the price is right, and Steve’s life lessons. Good luck on the rest of harvest, and I appreciate what you share with us.
Suggestion ask a youtuber that you like and watch alot, with lots of subscribers and see if they will help you with suggestions to get more subscribers you have good content. 😊
I a previous video you asked for content... I follow many of the popular farm you tube contributors .. They generally focus on production and grain hauling... I don't see any that focuses on grain merchandising.... (I'm a college grad with grain mercandising as my field of interest). conducer proviing grain marketing as a subject and differentiate your channel from the others. just a thought.. hope it is a helpful thought
