Wow, this lentil and rice recipe looks absolutely delicious! 🌟 I love how simple and nutritious it is, and the flavors must be amazing with those herbs and spices. Perfect for a hearty meal that the whole family can enjoy.
These recipes come in so handy today, thank you so much for posting! My children are home from college for the summer, and I’m doing the typical mother thing of cooking all their favorites. Neither child is a full-time vegetarian, so tonight’s request was merguez sausages with peppers, onions, and a spicy yogurt sauce. I do not eat non-vegetarian sausages, so I will make these tasty lentil balls instead. One child won’t eat sausages of any kind but adores lentils, so they’ll enjoy the recipe with me. As long as we can sit at the table together eating good food and sharing our lives, I will be happy. Thanks again for sharing your creativity with the world.
Thank you for your lovely comment, I'm so happy my recipes can help! It is very sweet that you make an effort to ensure that everyone gets to enjoy something they like at the table, it is so important! Thank you again for your lovely comment, and I hope you and your kids enjoyed the lovely meals you prepared❤️🥰👋
@@WeCookVegan They were delicious. I’m a little disappointed because we have no leftovers. I was looking forward to having lentil balls for lunch, but I’m glad I was able to feed them something healthy and delicious. This is definitely a recipe I’ll make again and again. Please give Lancey a chin bonk from Tut and and a scratch from me.
The lentil balls look so delicious. You made the rice perfect. Here in Hawaii rice is a daily staple and that's exactly how we like it, it's called "sticky rice". The chickpea balls looked really yummy too but it called for ingredients I never have on hand. Most likely would not buy. Please give lots of hugs to the very handsome Lancy from me. I'd love to have a cat but my asthma gets so bad when I'm around cats sometimes I end up in the ER. Otherwise I'd go out and find me a handsome Lancy too. Wishing you a great day. God's blessings to you and family.
I do love sticky rice! especially with mango, so delicious. What ingredients do you think you wouldnt buy? I can suggest some alternatives if you would like☺️ I will make sure to give Lancy lots of hugs on your behalf too, are you allergic to all cats or is it their fur? one of my relatives has a hairless cat and her allergies dont go off somehow!! Have a lovely week, I appreciate your kindness❤️🥰👋
@@WeCookVegan Thank you. So, psyllium hush. Chickpea crumbs because I rarely cook foods needing crumbs, agave syrup because I never sweeten anything, hot sauce because I've yet to find one I like so I just use chili flakes or cayenne on everything or just eat raw hot peppers, and cashews. I only eat walnuts, pistachios and brazil nuts. I'm a bit on the boring side and not very food adventurous. You're broadening my horizons lol. I only eat one meal a day and that's always a salad to start and then a pot of something with cabbage and onions, garlic then whatever else I decide to throw in. I'd like to try more than that. You're helping me to think beyond.
I love the veggy balls. They would be great alongside each other on a party tray. Of course it would be so hard for me to not eat them as I place them. You're awesome.
thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words, and im exactly like you, if i was trying to plate them up id literally much on every 2nd one😂❤️
Recipes look great, but your microphone on your recording equipment is Crazy Good! I dont think I have EVER enjoyed "listening" to recipe this much! The sounds of slicing, crushing of garlic, food sizzling in the fry pan, etc. was so appealing! 😄👍🏼
Wow, this recipe is fantastic! The detailed instructions made it so easy to follow, I love how you use simple ingredients to create such a flavorful dish! Thanks for posting such a great video😍😍
Hi there! Could you make a few alternative low carb recipes for us diabetics please? I was really interested in this one until you added the rice. Looks fab.
of course! I will make sure to come up with some recipes and share them😁🫶⭐️ I have some broccoli patties which are low carb in the meanwhile on my channel!
It's mouth watering 😋👌 All your lentil dishes are too good 👍 superrrr tasty & simple to prpr ,with ingredients usually available at home , thnq ... 🫶 💐
Hello Eileen and thank you for watching! You can substitute Psyllium husk for flax seeds. I usually use Italian dried herbs mix. It's widely available in UK and I think it should be available in most of the countries worldwide. The main herbs commonly used are oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary and garlic powder. if you do not have it available in your country this seasoning is so simple to make at home! Simply measure out the given herbs and spices, mix and store in an airtight container. This will stay perfectly fresh for 12 months if stored in a dark cupboard or drawer and in an airtight container. You can also use any dried herbs mix you enjoy. Hope you enjoy! Sending you my best wishes! 🌞 😊 💖
It would be nice to know the name of those first lentils. I used the regular large green ones and ended up with a very dry mixture. Only noticed later these were smaller with specks. The dish still tasted okay with lots of extra sauce, but not anywhere as beautiful as your's. I will try again.
Hello! The first lentils were green lentils but any you have on hand should be fine! If your mixture is too dry dont worry about adding a bit more liquid! Let me know how it goes if you try again and thank you for watching 🥰🩷
Yummy 😋 lentil recipe. I know if I were in your area I would be popping in for dinner 😆. Another awesome video as always and love 🥰 it. Love 😍 We Cook Vegan.
Yeah! Two new recipes for me to make. Thank you for sharing this video. I get very tired of eating the same things over and over. It isn't that there are a lot of vegetarian and vegan recipes but, it is me! I have odd loss of taste and have issues with texture the older I get.
Hello! Thank you for expressing your interest. For now, I don't have printables available, but instructions are in the subtitles and ingredient list in description which you can copy and paste into a word document🩷😌🌸
I had to laugh-the last thing I did before I watched the video was put some brown lentils on to soak. I'm making the first recipe to use as a filling for stuffed peppers. You did something similar a while ago and it's become my go-to for stuffed peppers, cabbage and chard. Thanks so much.
oh how convenient! Im delighted you enjoyed my recipes and are trying them out! thank you for your kind comment and I hope you have a lovely rest of your day🩷😌🌸
@@maryellendesmarais6948 That's what I use. I actually have a dish of stuffed peppers in the toaster oven right now using the lentil filling. I play with recipes a lot so this version has the soaked lentils, cooked rice, raw onion, a little ground flax and random 'cheeses'. I do add water while making the lentil puree as it tends to set up pretty firm and I want it a little more tender. This time no carrots but I will add them when I stuff cabbage. It can be on the bland side so salt, white pepper, garlic/onion powder, Italian seasoning and dried basil. Usually smoked paprika to give depth but I forgot this time. I hope you enjoy it-it's the best vegan filling I've found so far.
Thank you for tuning in! To make chickpea crumb, blend a can or two of chickpeas, then spread the mix on a baking sheet. Bake at about 180 celsius for 15-20 minutes. Then place that back in the blender and blend again. By this point it should look more crumb like! Put back on the baking sheet for another 15 mins, when done, turn oven off and leave them in there as it cools❤️❤️
And again very tasty recipes. These I will try as well as the others and I'm sure, they will be amazing . Many greetings from 🇩🇪 and kisses for Lancey, the cat with the most beautiful eye colour I' ve ever seen.🙋🏻♀️
Could the lentil balls in recipe 1 also be baked in the oven? And if so, for how long? And is the 170 grams rice cooked or uncooked? Thanks for this recipe, we are starting a studio Ghibli movie marathon this evening and I'm sure these lentil balls will be welcomed later in the evening.
Hello dear! You could definitely try oven baking for recipe 1, I would say about 20 minutes at 200C, or until browned on the outside! The rice is cooked btw! I hope you enjoy your movie marathon❤️🥰👋

Ok, your recipes are usually very good. However, PLEASE Everyone!! STOP saying that Vegan recipes taste better than meat!! It is just extremely annoying & totally unnecessary. It is a tiresome way to try to get non Vegans/Vegetarians to try a recipe. Surely there are other words to entice someone to try a new taste or recipe. Use your imagination!!
No one said they TASTE better than anything. This lentil dish is nutritionally better than meat in its relativity of protein for the amount of calories. Thanks for watching!
I do not know such a recipe in Indian cuisine. Please can you share the name for the recipe? Sometimes I get a similar comments but in reality the recipes and dishes are very different. I know Indian cuisine very well. Thank you for watching! Have a nice day!
