Hi friends! Hope you are all staying safe. Sending you all the biggest hugs and wishes during a lonely time. I was in a rush to finish this video and not sure yet how I feel about this one haha. Is there any specific content you'd like to see from me next, especially during this time? What's been on your mind? What have you been thinking/struggling with lately? Be well, my friends ❤️
Kevin Shen The video is great, no need to be insecure!! (: I'd love to hear your opinion and research about cheesy-sounding stuff like self-acceptance (as we all spend a lot of time with ourselves now...) Thank you as always! Stay healthy and keep going♥♥
Thanks again for a great video Kevin. Been taking this opportunity to learn more, reflect on life more and also to produce more video content on RU-vid 😃
What almost people struggle to thrive in times of crisis is financial recession, it was such a great reminder that we need each other more than anything else in times like this. Another awesome message! 👍
We really do. We need encouragment, and reminders about what is really important. We need to be cared about. We need vulnerability and honesty and connection. We always needed it, but now we've got time to feel that need in a different way.
Hi Kev!! As usual, great content. One thing I wanted to contribute to the content and the context, in general, is this - the shift we as humankind is going through now through this is EXACTLY what needs to happen. I don't mean people need to die and be shut in for months together, but I mean the connection needs to happen WITHIN OURSELVES FIRST. Our relationship with ourselves is THE single most important element. It has been a few years now when depression has made itself known loud and clear and yet we CHOSE, in most part, to turn the other way and pretend consumerism and buying identity by brands can fill our need to be understood and accepted. Depression is something I have lived through so I know when there's a war between so many fragmented parts within ourselves, it drains all our energy there. What this social isolation is allowing us is to integrate our shadows, rediscover who we are in the most fundamental level, so we can connect more authentically with people going forward. No man is an island, and there cannot be islands within ourselves begging to be acknowledged, accepted, integrated.
Wow, you expressed this beautifully. Pretend consummerism and buying identity by brands... That's the capitalistic dream. Either get rich by selling people an identity or prove wealth by taking on that identity. But something that's only shallow isn't going to do jack squat for how we feel to the core of who we are.
This is probably the video everyone wants to see in a time like this. Be isolated but don't isolated yourself from others because, now more then even, we need each other. Great video Kevin and thank you. Um abraço com mais de 20 segundos :)
Jae! Hey brother! Haha to be honest, I'm still trying to figure things out but things are finally coming together :) I see that your channel is growing!! Keep it up dude!! 🙌🏼
These are really good points and they were well explained. Awhile back, I put on my habit tracker to connect with at least one person a day. Send a PM on Facebook, or call someone. It was such a good thing to do. I really like what you said about opening up our perspective about making friends. I uploaded a video today that I wasn't sure how I felt about it. It was just me, attempting to run a mile every day for a week. But a beautiful thing happened. I got so many comments from friends that I've cultivated on this YouTubing adventure. People that shared in my accomplishment because they care about who I am and believe that when they watch something I've made, they will feel inspired and hugged. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm tooting my own horn. This is that connection in action! It feels so good to have these relationships in this lonely, sad, tragic world. It has lifted my spirits to know that this happened- and it had nothing to do with my editing or video quality. I did so little with editing, and recorded it on my phone. (which is not new or expensive.) So I hope that encourages you, too. Keep letting your heart and compassion through your videos- that is what counts the most at the end of the day.
Wow thank you so much Michelle! That is a really good point! I would actually love your help if you can see any auto-generated caption mistakes that need to be fixed :)
I’m on my phone right now so I’m not entirely sure, but I think there’s a way for audience members to suggest changes... haha I’m a noob at this still 😄
