Jason at CogHill has an male Emu sitting on about a dozen Emu eggs. Jason takes a bowl of feed and some water down to him once a day to help him out. His Emu has been sitting on the eggs for 30 days and has another 30 days before the eggs hatch. Jason didn't want him starving for 60 days. 😂

I think it’s 17 for Nugget. Jason didn’t believe Nuggo would sit because he’s a pet. ❤❤❤But instincts rule the World. Moving into nature requires letting nature rule. It’s hard when we think of them as pets. My heart breaks for Jason Brooke and MaryCarl they love him so much. Has to be hard watching him go through this but he’s doing exactly what he should be doing. Even being raised as a pet his instincts rule. I really hope Nugo has at least 1 successful hatch.

I love Blue! She has come a long way for sure. You have earned her trust and she has accepted your kindness. I have always wondered what her past was because of her skittish behavior? Whatever it was, you two have broke through the barrier she had put up possibly due to her past, allowing her to know she can have trust with you. I believe her improvement is due to your kindness and love.

Hi,y'all ! I shared w an email today from a National Geographic study about Healthy and Happy Chickens. It included those terms that are not clear to most of us: pasture raised, etc. May help you in your sizing per square foot per chicken; more towards the end of the article. I so enjoy your honesty, both of you, even if it's uncomfortable. Lots of compromise & discussions with active listening occurring in your household! Great technique!!! A lesson without saying it is a communication style lesson that you both make successful!!!

Jess @rootsandrefuge farm was talking about how the goats are really good at "routine". Her 3 mama goats all know exactly what order they are to be milked each morning. That makes it easy for her to get them in and out of their stall. She also said that they've never been raised outside so when she recently tried to let them out to graze, they chased her as she was leaving, "screaming"! LOL!!! they obviously did not want her to leave them out there....lol!

Rumor has it there’s some rogue chickens out past Grandpa and Grandma’s driveway. I’m guessing DNA samples come back it’s the same clan that escaped and tore up the beds a couple times. They leave their gang , what’s that called when they “decorate” before they leave? Their graffiti! 😂

Many viewers are ALSO farm owners and have Chickens and goats as well They are offering ADVICE! There are proper ways to do things without causing undo issues from rookie errors. For one, an LGD should NEVER be allowed to chase down a goat. That's negative behavior. They are supposed to live within the goats and chase off predators like Coyotes and big cats. They are not there to "control" the goats. That's considered a bad behavior for an LGD. Most goat farmers will reprimand it commanding "leave it" until the dog stops chasing! Giving goats ample hay and grazing into forage is better than graining them. Most only grain females when they need the extra energy to produce milk and young kids for growth. Else grain during cold weather in Northern areas where they need the extra calories to keep warm. Males are hardly ever grained except intact bucks during rut when they need the extra calories for breeding activity. Otherwise you just have overweight goats making them more susceptible to disease. When you free range chickens and other fowl, you still have to provide ample water and feed and a place to hide from predator attacks besides a roost at night. People out there have experience and know what they're talking about and just trying to impart some knowledge. Nobody is trying to tell them what to do to be mean or anything at all like that. It is what is is. I'm in my 70s. I never got butt hurt over advice.🤷😕

I think you should get some laying hens and a rooster to start with when you get the biddies (baby chicks). They will stay at home and come back after they have been in the pen for at least a week. If it’s warm outside you can put the brooder outside. That way you don’t have to smell up your building!😂 They will be fine outside, if it’s cold at night, get a warmer from Amazon and put it in with them. They’re not very expensive. Good luck with your chickens! The goatie goats all look great and so does Herc! Lots of prayers for everyone! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤

Shannon, I saw a picture of your plant starts. How exciting. Wanted to share a gardeners secret that makes a world of difference. When you transplant especially tomatoes, cucumbers peppers, mix some epsom salts with the dirt in the hole you dig for the baby plants. You don’t want to put them in direct contact as it would burn but it will jump start their growth and gives them the nutrients needed to grow the blossoms for fruit. Also be very careful not to break off the baby roots or they will just sit there while regrowing roots. Happy gardening.

Great job good looking base rock space for the chicken coup. Did really well levelling. Chicken coup build is a ready to start. All the animals are happy enjoying life and enjoying the fresh green stuff around shady acres. Have an awesome week take care and God bless. 🙏💕

Chickens are great. They don't really fly, but they're great at putting themselves to bed. Just one thing though, you should put the nesting box's up kind of high with a ladder, and if you can put the roosting bar slightly above but away from the nesting box. They like being up away when sleeping. And if you can use 2×2 boards for the roosting bar, that way they can keep their feet warm by sitting on them, instead of curling their toes around.
