Crazy how fast times have changed. I started buying up gear and guns and knives when I was still living at home, watching nutnfancy videos, but deep down I didn't think I'd ever see any reason to use most of that gear for it's intended purpose in my lifetime. Now literally every day that goes by seems like one step closer to some manufactured catastrophe that will leave civilization in ruins. Nutn was right about a lot, but one thing especially is that all that gear is an investment. I might have looked silly to friends or even my parents buying some of that stuff, but when things started to get serious and you couldn't get a lot of stuff due to the panic buying, I felt like I was sitting pretty. Also a ton of things I bought have doubled or more in price over the last 15 years. It never goes bad, and above all, it's better to have it and not need it than need it and end up dead.
As much as it costs to be a man, it can cost everything to be unprepared. Great video. Thanks for all that you do Cody. You’re an inspiration to many including myself.
David refused King Saul's excessive armour. But he did take five smooth stones from the river knowing one would do the job. Its all about knowing your capabilities and being balanced.
@MrTony079 but you are still jealous as hell .... drooling over every one of his videos, just waiting for your chance to say a negative comment. I'd like to see how you live and how you do things. I bet it is "cosplay" as well
I think thats the least of our worries in Australia. Majority of "real" men are so plugged in. The only thing they're worried about is footy and booze. That was confirmed during covid.
Im not sure how im going to find 3 young men for my 3 homeschooled, pure blooded daughters when the time comes to pass the mantle of care on. in NZ the new generations are just broken.
Not sure why? He actually making offensive moves in the culture war while Cody is just telling everyone how manly he is and military larping...ive never seen a video of him face to face with antifa..I have seen Tim on video standing his ground...they should be allies
Indeed it does. The context of this video in particular sets it apart tho. Hes carying around top of the line night vision in the most expensive duffel bag money can buy, disposable income always finds something new lol
Hey Cody I met a man you and Mrs. W know quite well in Fremont at a little antique shop! An extremely kind gentleman if I must say! Small world, cheers man from Ne
Hi Cody I have a question. I am a single disabled father with a disabled son. We are on Social Security and cannot afford most of what you are showing here. What options do I have? Thanks for your time and I really enjoy your videos.
Hey Cody, you had a RU-vid short today that had your grandpa's WWII pin on a vest of yours and you asked if it proper to do that. I served my 20 in our Navy and I wouldnt care what anybody said, id wear that pin with great pride. Love ya. David
Yeah he had overwhelming support on that video, I read quite a few comments and not one of them was anything other than praise and approval. Nice to see from time to time.
The wisdom shared on this channel is invaluable for people that have never expereinced combat or similar chaos. Doing the Lord's work Cody, Keep it up!
Oh, please. Insecure, paranoid, yammering right wingers with uninformed opinions and stereotypical views of everything not lily white and male are dime a dozen.
It costs money to be a man...it costs BIG money to be a Proho man! My toy budget has expanded greatly since I've been watching and following Wranglestar! Good stuff Cody, keep it coming.
Haha. After watching this channel for quite a few years, I've seen this guy go through so many different phases and contradict himself, buying and spending at every transition. Granted some of it is natural evolution, but he's something extra lol.
I am a big fan of the streamlight Protec 1L-1LAA. It is a durable light I've been carrying for a few years that runs on 1 AA battery OR 1 CR-123. And it is super easy to carry.
A couple suggestion; keeping a small charger and usb cable or a battery bank for charging your phone, even if it’s just to get your phone to 50% charge, could be something as small as one of those tube style chargers with 5000 mWh capacity. And if you have the room, a spare, charged radio battery, one of the regular capacity ones instead of the higher capacity ones .
News year's day is battery day for me. Smoke alarms, optics, weapon lights, go bags - they all get fresh batteries. Then I do an inventory of the battery cupboard and make a shopping list of what needs to be replenished.
Very nice little zippered pouches! Home depot also has a three pack of similar bags, S,M,L that I use ALL the time. They are just $13 for the three. I keep batteries, tools, all kinds of things in them. Never had one fail for any reason. They are very tough! thank you for the battery caddy tip! Those things are awesome!
it costs a lot more than money. wait until you have to fight. and i mean fight for real. it costs part of your soul. the cost of being a man is indeed high. prey you don't have to pay it.
I have asked this question in the past… were you a US Forest Service Wild Land Firefighter? You mention them a lot, but a lot of the information you share which you say you’ve gleaned is inaccurate.
In my humble opinion this it the best prepping video you have done in years! Keep it up. Do you or any others commenting watch Viking Prepardness, if not, you SHOULD!!!
The Peltors last a pretty long time. if u are wearing them for a few hours they start beeping and turn themselves off, thats built in so u don’t kill the battery if left on. all u have to do is turn then off then back on and ur good to go
Several times you identified the main issue was not keeping your batteries charged, why not put a system in place to routinely charge them instead of buying more kit? Systems > kit.
Thank you for this video. Great ideas about batteries and battery equipment. I agree, in a "get home" scenario, having certain battery-powered equipment and the batteries that equipment needs can be a game-changer.
@@phillipbanes5484 No, Tim is not. Tim doesn't do anything to help the "right side". The only thing he does is repeat talking points that everyone else comes up with. Just like Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk and others.
@@phillipbanes5484 My emotions are fine. I'm very cool in that sense. I just don't buy in to the nonsense of those that just waste everyone's time while sitting behind a mic inside their little bubble. People like Tim only say what their masters tell them to say because it sells. They flip to whatever the money says.
Despaire not. Life doesn't cost anything, only goods and services do. Your ancestors found happiness with far less, so can you. You don't need wealth to live.
Finns can drink... Finnish whalers? I cannot even imagine... It costs a lot to be a man indeed. A man should make enough to take care of himself, and everyone else in his growing circle. Always seek a surplus.
Dear Cody, Finland doesn't have any coastline with the ocean, we only have access to the Baltic sea, where the biggest whale is a Porpoise, which is like a mini dolphin. I think the whalers were Norwegian. Also whales have been protected for a long time but Norwegians and Japanese always seem to find a scientific reason to catch some whales.
@@phillipbanes5484 we don't have any ocean cost line because Russia stole it... Good that we are now with our western allies but unfortunate that we weren't to begin with...
While I'm sure they're not military approved, I like my olight weapons lights because they have a magnetic charge cable that can be used without removing from the weapon. Easy to charge up the light while it's in a range bag or something if you have a battery bank as well
Make sure to re wrap your 18650 batteries any time the wrap has any type of tear. The center of the battery is positive, and the entire wrapped portion is negative. If metal touches both at the same time you are in for a good explosion and fire. Battery safety is no joke with 18650, 2800, and 28650 batteries. Also the 18650 will store easily for a year at 80% charge. Never store one completely full or completely empty, and they will perform for years.
You went from being a conman who did bad reviews and recommended bad products you were paid to recommend to cashing in on the fear mongering right conservatism about an up and coming boogaloo. This just contributed to my decision to permanently unplug from social media and youtube.
I'm a systems guy. Always gearing up. Setting up systems with back ups to rotate through. Doesn't matter if it's gas, batteries, propane tanks, staple cooking items. And my wife is the anti system. She's the type that will loan everything I have to friends and family because I have "plenty". She'll leave the toilet paper holder empty. Empty milk jugs. Etc, etc. How would you deal with the Mrs. and minions always countermining attempts to create organization and preparedness?
Every time I buy snap on tools I feel like a man that just consented to a a$$ pounding… but I keep going back because the feel and quality is the best on the market
From what i can find Finland has never had a whaling industry but i know as a fact that Norway has been whaling for very long as still do as a matter of fact!
'It costs a lot to be man' to me means to be human you have to do what you have to do to survive and a lot of times that struggle is taxing on the mind more than the body.
@@RichardBRiddick-n7x I'm saying nothing about the amount of physical exertion but the ability of the mind to handle it. If you do no labor, but are not content you can suffer. In opposition, you can labor long hours and be content, and be happy that way. It's the relationship between mind and body that is described here, not the state of them as they are
I prefer to keep all my devices to AAA or AA. Then I use rechargeable. I have redundant small solar panels that are equipped with the ability to recharge AA. My AAAs I keep on little cases which convert them to AA (to enable charging and in case I need AAs on the fly). My optics are AA. My flashlights are AA. My radios (baofengs) have AAA battery packs. My GPS is AA. Everything else charges, and I use my battery banks for those.
I do SAR, I have VERY reliable 123's that are rechargeable, I keep two racks that can support all my light on full burn for twenty four hours, times two, basically one in use the other charging... Take from that what you will, btw you will have surplus power using that type of method, rarely does one burn all lights on high power for 24 straight, it's usually in say four hour blocks, so conservatively one can run for three nights on one "24 hour pack/set" which is what my duty pack is set up for, based off a 72 hour assault ruck, I was a Cav Scout, aka the best "survival gear" testers on the planet. But point is reliable and worth its weight, btw I hear the way to go very soon will be graphine-based platforms, very light weight, capable of massive input/output numbers and very reliable in harsh conditions, but as of now too "new" to be on the mass market so it's cost prohibitive and lack the manufacturing base also for the same reason, give it time and it will be like why was there ever anything else.
"Men" who say it doesn't cost anything to be a man probably haven't taken a stand againt the world and probably aren't the true head of their household because they are afraid to make their wife unhappy.
This is the channel I’ve always been looking for, I’ve learned a ton. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. I’d like to see your thoughts on dealing with a hung up tree.
It's a la carte survival. Modular. If you need cold, take cold. If you need wet, take wet. Batteries, first aid, urban, wilderness, all available to be kitted in a couple minutes.
It does, indeed, cost a lot. Even just being self suffecient requires lots of tools, specialty tools, water storage, filtration, food, back up power, generators, etc etc.
it costs a lot less to be a "man of God". definitely agree though, choose simplicity and quality over bling and hype. use what you choose, make sure your system is "proof" tested. you can not depend on what you do not know!!
