I think Hasan is slowly becoming more and more afraid of how insane the left is getting. There's hope for that boy. He's still a jackass, but he might make a turnaround one day.
@@BigPuddin Hasan is crazy as hell. He dreams of capitalists being murdered and so on.. so its not like hes outside the bloodcult.. and no... he will never turn around. He also praises terrorists so.... yeah..
Yeah, he's obviously still current. Saying 'I was like this so everyone I perceive for superficial reasons to be like me is also like that' is textbook bigotry. Same shit for the leftist darling DiAngelo whose entire thesis they eat up is 'I identify as white and I'm a racist piece of shit therefore I know all white people are racist pieces of shit just like me because we're all the same'. This is the person they expect you to listen to on how not to be racist and is your moral superior.
Yeah but the thing is that that never happened. That guy is not a "former bigot" whatever that means but I guess he means "right wing" or just not woke. He is projecting his fantasy of what a right winger is in his mind, so he plays the "former bigot" card in order to get credibility. The fact that you can't tell if these people are 12 or 40 years old speaks volumes about the twitter freaks.
The reason they are so rabid is because they think they caught Asmon with this. "Haha! He's dumb, he doesn't know MGS is always political! Let's all point our fingers and laugh at him!" - Someone tells them it's a joke, and they refuse to back down now because it means he wins again and they'll look even more stupid, so they argue semantics and makes bold claims instead to try to prove their baseless point.
It's doubly dumb because what Twitter activists mean by "political" is completely different from how every normal human being in history used the word.
@@rpgfanatic9719 You know what they say about people who assume a lot, right? Because you can't be one of Asmongolds viewers, otherwise you would know that he played one of the MGS games (yes, only one, but thats entirely enough to understand that the games are highly political ) and reacted to parts of it on stream that are uber, turbo highly political. 2 minutes of research would've shown you that much.
This confirms the old theory that "people will be so stupid that they won't know how to differentiate irony and sarcasm to the point that you will have to tell them."
It's always the subreddits whose entire purpose is to just bitch about everything and be miserable. I wonder if the retards on r/gamingcirclejerk have said anything about this. It would be a surprise if they didn't.
they don't understand anything, they just farm likes by parroting pre-digested 10 words (or less) sentences. There's virtually one real difference between an average twitter user and a bot: bots are evolving
I wonder, did we ever actually understand each other, or by having a strict culture that was never really messed with, we assumed that we understood each other? At this point, I will assume that people assume we understand each other.
Yeah, its frightening, right? Thats why you can only lose in this situation. These echo chambers spiral out of control in just a few hours and pile on more and more (freely invented) accusations instead of fact checking once. If you try to clear it up, engage in a conversation or prove them wrong, they already have 10 other reasons why you are lying, you are wrong, or just trying to damage control, or they just say that you are proving that you are "guilty", otherwise you wouldn't need to defend yourself. (right? RIGHT?!) Asmongold is luckily big enough and independent enough to just make fun of the situation and not bother with it. The only smart move. But situations like this can outright destroy other peoples reputation and careers.
Its their defense mechanism. What they are saying is "Im not an idiot for not understanding that basic joke and being completly outraged by it.... he must have been serious this whole time!"
I think it honestly reveals something massively important and needs to be understood when dealing with these people. Without any mean intention, they have autism and are unaware of it. They are unable to detect or understand sarcasm.
if they'd just own up to it too this'd blow over so quick but nooo we gotta have narcissists in there using others as their narcissistic extensions so it all just becomes one big circlejerk
I do wonder though if it wasn't Asmon (who Hasan is on... Idk, friendly terms with?) would he be shitting on what was said as well, not wanting to argue against the idiots who are his own biggest fans?
most likely a LARPing lefty, they love doing the "i used to be a racist homophobic far right extremist until I saw the light" when actually they were just center-left before becoming extreme left.
I'm homeschooled, I learned sarcasm from my parents. I've learned that a lot of the humour of sarcasm comes from not being able to tell if it's sarcasm or not. Even when I think someones being sarcastic, I'll take their statement at face value, both to convey my own brand of sarcasm while hedging my bets in case they weren't being sarcastic. I like to think that I'm self aware as to how gullible I am.
@@r3dp9 I think good sarcasm is the context and subject that are being put at odds together so much that even If i say an absolutely ridiculous statement with a completely serious and unjoking tone, it still be read as sarcasm.
It's challenging to defend beliefs because it requires you to think and rationalize your beliefs. Echo chambers don't need that because "you're right and they're wrong."
Lefties blamed the whole debacle on "conservative falseflaggers" because "we would never irrationally attack someone for being straight, we're smarty-pants'! It's a conspiracy!"
Chatrooms and forums have always been cess pools… Always. You give people reinforcement with likes, or near-total anonymity… and they’ll be the worst version of themselves time and time again.
@@sdbzfan1 He just recently got into another controversy where he replied to a post asking which body type u prefer on a female and he said all of them. "Well, Asmongold said he doesn't want the MGS 3 remake to get political... Time to write a 7 paragraph essay about how harmful that is!" Reddit really is a cesspool of stupidity and circle jerks.
This is crazy man. All of the implying, shoving words in Asmon's mouth, the "I know him more than he knows himself" bs going on Twitter and Reddit is so baffling. It truly comes from a place of moral superiority and a holier than thou mindset, but when met with the fact that they either misinterpreted what he said or are just straight up projecting, they double down on everything and creates a cycle that just can't stop. Editor really said it best. Twitter is actually retarded...
Twitter and reddit are the most braindead places in social media if they were to be shut down today all the neckbeards and trogolytes would be crying because they realize they cannot function in society without social media
Yeap they will defend this stance to the bitter end. Even if Asmon would profess in the same video that he is going to make a joke and is fully aware of MGS political themes they would still say he didn't really mean it as a joke and it was some kind of dog whistle or whatever conspiracy. Even if they would be cornered with this reality by someone they would still probably say well maybe it was a joke then but what he really thinks is this so EVEN if this time he wasn't 100% serious then it would still be ok to paint him as "negative term" because deep down he is one and just because one time he happened not to be a total "negative term" doesn't mean he stopped being one so he deserves all the backlash anyway.
@@Mytelefe You are 100% correct. The Twitter and Reddit freaks will never in a million years rescind any insults, implications, backlash and/or statements they made because they VERY CLEARLY have a negative bias. And it is very clear they have a negative bias because if they didn't the "political" clip would've never even seen the light of day besides for the people who actually tuned in for that stream.
Even if it wasn't sarcasm, saying you hope the game isn't political is the most politically correct, neutral statement. You have to be someone who thinks that games are there only to be your platform for your ideology to take offense in that.
@@johanjohannesson4746 nah we still remember what he said on the deprogramm podcast right after october 7th. He had his mind made up before any of the retaliation even came in.
they act like he said that's just a joke to defend himself. Which means they saw his response. Which means they literally didn't process the part where he made that joke years before this even happened. thats some next level selective hearing
Shut up bigot ! He was just pretending to joke about it before to cover his clear bigotry and dogwhistle rhetoric ! You think you can fool people but you are just not clever enough with your bigoted ways !
These people play MGS2 and probably think "OH, THIS IS WHAT *MY* POLITICAL OPPOSITION THINKS LIKE". The ending specifically mentions political correctness as a part of a larger problem, but that line flies over their heads. If you know about echo chambers, that doesn't mean you are immune to falling into one.
@@VitaliyMilonovthis. Whole point about the Patriots A.I. talking about that to Raiden was that it was commentary on the age-old human practice of faction-making. All that info and opportunity to grow, and it's still far too easy to get comfortable staying in an echo chamber, which makes you easy to lead by the nose. The way to counteract it is to embark on your own and find the full context beyond what is fed or affirmed to you. This is dangerous, terrifying, and empowering. And anyone can do it, they just choose not to.
Literally, the gradual realisation that I was living in the ending of MGS2 was wild. I know authors said the same thing before Kojima did but it was still interesting how prophetic that game ended up being.
@@CloakofAuron It's actually astonishing how spot on the Patriots AI was about a large majority of humans. This is why the AI says it wants to "create context" and that "humans don't deserve free will." Humans have the privilege to think for our own but sadly many of us don't and are easily mislead/misinterpret things, thus making up our own mind about things before even knowing the true context of something. Then when presented with the context some humans STILL assume they are right.
asmon, a person whos played the metal gear series, makes a joke about how they dont add politics into a game *infamous for politics* the joke didnt just fly over their heads it shot into the fucking sun
There are 2 definitions of politics being used here. The far left activist definition and the one that regular people use. When an activist says "everything is political" they don't mean that groups of people cannot exist without forming some form of political thought to coexist. No, they mean that people have always used everything to spread their political agenda and therefor its ok and normal for them to do it to your beloved franchise. Metal gear is famous for being Anti War and it relays that message to you via its story which you can enjoy regardless of your thoughts on the topic. A game that is political in the activist interpretation does everything to lecture the viewer about something to the point of insulting anyone who doesnt share the authors exact views. There is not much story left in a game that is political in that way. But those are the exact sort of politics that people are talking about when they "hope it doesn't get political".
So glad I’m apart of the RU-vid community. Most of the things here are pretty chill and much more logical than anywhere on the internet. It’s not perfect but it’s actually pretty great to see most people not idiotic
"As a former bigot" guy reminded me of a nutcase at my ex's AA meetings who said he "Used to manipulate people for personal gain" but now he "Manipulates people for good". Guy would also frequently complain that he was tired of being good.
classic "double down" phenomenon, rather than admit they jumped the gun or got something wrong the weak minded will pursue a line of thought with twice the intensity.
This reminds me of the south park episode where they create a smug cloud because they are all high and mighty after buying hybrid cars. The commenter that started off "as a former bigot" is wrapped in smugness
The problem with Jocat is that he decided he wanted to get on their 'good side' and then was shocked when there was no good side to be found. Asmon on the other hand has no problem with lighting a match and smiling at the chaos that will shortly ensue.
Him justifying the harrassment people got over the Hogwarts legacy game by saying the trans people deal with worse will always put him in the "he deserved it" place. Why should we care about the harrassment he is getting when he waved off other's for no lesser of a cause
You could argue that he wasn't just trying to get on thier good side but honestly thought he was a part of them. Sadly, he didn't realize they don't want to make things better just find people to justify thier anger.
"I hope they don't add gay people". Are they even aware of Volgin and Raikov's relationship when they make this assumption of what Asmon might say? The gay people already existed, and no one cared. Vamp exists, and no one cared. They just want to see "problematic issues" everywhere they look, cause acting like a victim is the only way they get engagement.
There is a difference between gay people and "gay" people. Basically one just dates dudes while the others are out there naked in public during pride parades. The deviants ruin the reputation of the regular gay people and that will eventually lead to backlash which is why the regular gay people are trying their best to disavow LGBT.
Asmon has a point. It's probably not even real people arguing about this. It's probably some political discourse bots arguing both sides. The AI chat bots have been doing this since the inception of them. I don't actually use any social media besides YT so I could just be giving my boomer take...
Ah yes, I remember that part of the ending. "Raiden, to control the government, we have to say we hope they don't add gay people to a game with fay people in it and pretend it's a joke"
The scariest part of that ending was the AI kind of had a point. People are genuinely too stupid to think for themselves and very easily to manipulate. People are petty and they will get in their own way if you don't stop them. We see examples of people being manipulated by someone "creating context" basically all the time now.
The thread is absolutely insane. The number of people on there that have no idea what they’re talking about is genuinely terrifying to me. How can so many people be so so stupid with such confidence!?
@@notweewee Ye but what context do you need beyond the clip!?! And the craziest part isn’t the initial reaction.. I guess you could mistake it for a genuinely bad take take. The craziest part is the subsequent defense and doubling down after being told it was sarcasm, trying to argue that it was just a way to avoid being directly bigoted. Just absolutely unbelievable.

Mostly because people are individually sarcastic in different ways, so if you don't know the person very well then it can be rather easy to misinterpret sarcasm as genuineness.
Nah it's due to echo chambers and the fact sarcasm can be difficult to convey through text, hence why reddit does the /s thing. You have to be in the know to catch sarcasm about more complex subjects. I'm sure many people believe I'm serious leaving parody comments imitating crazy, far-leftists lol. The bigger problem is people refuse to acknowledge when they were wrong in taking something seriously, and instead rationalize how it was never a joke or sarcasm for convoluted reasons with no evidence. I've had many instances of responding seriously to a sarcastic comment and looking like a fool, and I just laugh and hold the L. Takes humility, which these people have none of.
You can use it for business and never actually go into the public forum of it. Say you make artwork for freelance work advertising. You tag it with key words relating to those people. I never saw an unhinged post when I used it lol.

We keep laughing at them but, in reality, they exert significant control over society.
1:58 I really find interesting how they want to add gay people and minorities in every game. most of those games are about war and conflicts, and they treat fiction as reality. so, they really seek conflict and chaos. to people who claim to be in the right side, of love and peace, they're so eagerly to go "Yess include my image in middle of that carnage, I want to be part of it!"

MGS tackled with actual politics and philosophy. What we now got is "everything is political"- nonsense. No wonder people can't understand the joke when they've accustomed themselves with constant "political" messaging without depth.
Funnily, this kind of situation is EXACTLY what the AI warned about in the last CODEC call in MGS2: trite, fake information being manipulated and spread around without any proper research regarding its context, creating various "truths" that are most convenient to the people reacting to it.
