In the US being aware someone is doing that to a minor and helping cover it up is a crime. Twitch would have just buried Doc publicly if this was true.
Imagine saying thats theres "no good or bad" in a franchise legit built on this fact lol. Yes u could say theres also alot of grey in series but to say theres no clear good or bad when jedi have a code that legit preached peace, knowledge, serenity and harmony all purposes normally given to heros. Then we have the sith on the other side with a code preaching all that matters is ones passion for strength, power and victory through the force liberates u in some way from the "chains" the jedi have put on themselves. Its legit the most braindead take to have dude like grow the hell up and understand theres nothing wrong with having clear evil along with good in your series as it makes the shades of grey in it grow only brighter truly making the world more vibrant. They paid him out because a low level employee found the PRIVATE text. Someone who shouldnt have access to those file - did. And that would be huge issue for twitch. That was a lawsuit in its own right. Doc's argument IS the age of consent is 16 in most states. If they never met up nothing happen - not illegal. Doc will never recover from this and shouldn't. Clearly the whole situation was bad all around.
Twitch isn't "hiding the felony" just because it's The Doc, it has happened before. Other streamers (League and Smash streamers to be accurate) also have used Twitch to reach out to minors, they were banned and there was no prosecution. In fact, in the instances where the streamer was exposed but wasn't banned on Twitch (CookieLoLxx) none of the screenshots were from Twitch DMs. There's something simpler going: data protection laws. It may be their website, but the whispers are personal data. I think the fact that The Doc isn't denying the claims directly, proves that he would give Twitch what they need to dispute the court ruling, in simple terms: he can't say it never happened, because (I think probably) it did happen.
Just because Cody is in a high position Doesn't mean he wouldn't Lie about it . Asmon is letting personal stuff making judgement instead of being actually thinking here .

I was thinking that those allegations seemed a bit extreme for the Doc, he does not at all seems to be that type of person out of character imo, if anything he comes off as being more the opposite to the allegations. Someone who advocates for user safety and decency

Teen. Which is still a kid. Doesn't that worry you about how fast people will welcome someone back and sweep stuff under the rug like that? If this was any other person they would never be seen again. It's the same with movie and music people they can do awful things and people just clap or turn there head like nothing happened.
they probably are all mum because there was a minor involved. the minor probably lied about their age. Dr didn't know anything but found out twitch was reading his chats which got all parties involved. He then probably wanted to cut ties with twitch for the invasion of privacy. Again idk the facts. I just trying to give people benefit of the doubt and try to use common logic deductions. Kids are humans too and they lie for all sorts of reasons just like adults. and corporations lie too, if not more than anyone else.
