Be glad they're fixing the main problem right now and don't feel like they owe us more major updates when the game is reaching 18 years. They they made their masterpiece updated it for 10 YEARS and now they're making new projects. I understand that CS has been treated better and thats because the game is still their biggest title so obviously they're going to milk it cause that makes them money. Literally every company would jump to that opportunity if they got given that chance. Valve isn't live service type of company cause it can't be. They have a little over 300 developers which is nothing compared to other companies. We all love the game and yes do expect radio silence cause the game's done. We've had our fun for the last 17 years with it and if you're not having fun/playing the game cause it doesn't get updates then i don't think you'd stick around for long even if it did get a major update.
