It Has Pockets! Beautiful Laced Leather Tote DIY (with Pattern)
This is amore advanced, stylize laced leather tote design that we've been making for years, and we wanted to share the pattern and tutorial with you because you loved our simple laced tote so much! With this laced leather tote design you can really make a personalize piece, omitting pockets completely for a beautiful silhouette or adding up to two interior and exerior pockets for ultimate storage! We used 5oz leather from Wickett & Craig for our body and lace, with 1" 8-9oz straps for the handles - all from our sponsor, Buckleguy :)

I'm a big fan of the laced products. It looks nice, there are some really nice mods that can be done. It is pretty forgiving for me as a person who might get a hole out place a little. Thank you for these, I made my own design for a wallet from what I've learned.

So far I've made four of the laced purses (three large and one small), and one of the previous smaller tote bags. I actually put an inside pocket in all the purses - I just cut out an extra front panel out of 2 oz leather, trimmed off the edge by 1/4" so it didn't stick out, and laced 'er in there. I also found using a lacing needle very helpful. I chose to dye/top coat/burnish all of them, incorporating some brands that were on the hide. I even patched up a hole that was in the hide with a contrasting colour of leather and thread! Wish I could post some pictures for you to see. I'm looking forward to building this bag!

Going through older videos while I trudge at work. I could just play these videos 24/7 in my house, I love watching them. Wife wouldn't be happy, but my kid seems to like them as well, so that's 2 v 1, right?

I wonder if the lace is wide enough how about using a rivet to secure them on the ends? Also have you used or considered using a lacing needle? Could make it easier to go through the multiple layers and that back sticking.

Cool idea. 4 rivets would go a long way to add a little embellishment at the end of each stitching line.

I made the laced Dopp kit from some leather furniture (a couch) that was tossed and lined for rigidity. I put the buckle strap upside down. 🤪

The FREE leather valet tray templates are not on Weaver Leather and Buckleguy says he doesn't have them and aren't his problem. Are they still available or not ??? Thanks, Gordie
