Good to see your keeping an EYE out between the tent and the tree I see👁? lol Please keep them Rolling ? but, what happens when you run out of story's? don't tell me i'll just expect that time doesn't come.👍@@basecampchris
Chris could offer group hikes and campouts, creating a sweet business as a guide and storyteller in the evenings. Can you imagine how many would sign up for an outing like this?
Has anyone on here ever had a sighting or experience on Rice road between Desert Center and Parker AZ?? There’s 80 something miles of 2 lane highway there and I had a scary experience there one night. I’m wondering if anyone else has ??
That is so true. Tell a few stories in the evening and one at night before bed for kids and their parents or guardian. It would be a great job. I and my son would be one of your first customers but you are too far away. I'll have to memorize your stories and tell them myself. Its best if a on-parent tells them. It's just different.
My family lived in Bushnell, Florida in 1973. We had some friends who claim to have seen a female and young “ Yetti” in their back yard ! I was 16 and me and my 2 sisters were horseback riding in the woods on a trail one afternoon. Our horses stopped abruptly and were nervous! Everything got really quiet and we just sat still for about half a minute listening. That primal fear you talked about gripped me and we turned and galloped BACK the way we came! My poor younger sister, 7 years younger, was kind of left in the dust 😆 She had a pony and my other sister and I had large horses! I feel really bad because she was telling us to wait, but there was no thought of slowing down 😅I’ve never experienced anything like that since. I’m 66 now and would like to think I would be the last to turn and run and put others first 😳 Loved all the stories and I believe every one of them!! Thanks, Terri W.
Hi Chris,,enjoy listening to the stories people write in to you ..I had a scary night upstate New York…on my property ..No people around way back in the woods..I sleep in the back of my truck ,it has a cap over the 8 foot bed..One night something bang on the center of the cap at 1 in the morning..thinking maybe it was a owl with something it caught .?.because I heard a owl earlier..fell back to sleep ,then 3 in the morning again something bang on the center of the truck cap again ..I’m talking loud ,,scared me again …I had a cheap flashlight ,not much light ..I open the tail gate and jumped out a min..later,,nothing was there ..to reach the center of my truck cap 7 feet off the ground then 2 1/2 feet over ..Always wondered what it was ..
Wow, that's freaky! It smelled you in there! Probably hit the top to see if you'd start barking or hollering or make a noise like you wanted out. Very creepy 😊
Absolutely love your videos, Especially love when you cook, watching today I was curious when I saw you cut raw steak next to tomatoes, then put cooked steak on same chopping board, this is a high risk for cross contamination, have you ever gotten sick fixing food this way? Have to tell you I was a bit freaked out, lol.. I was an executive chef in the UK many years ago, I always stressed about cross contamination between uncooked meats and produce, 😊
A Bigfoot ran out in front of a friend's car on our way from Hot Springs Arkansas to Mt Ida Arkansas. We weren't exactly sure of what we saw, too unbelievable! Thanks for taking us along, life doesn't get any better than out in the wilderness.
These stories are the highlight of my Sunday. No Big Foot here in the UK, but these stories make me think there is definitely something in the woods in the US.
-> Yes, have heard they are in the U.K.. Scotland, England.. I think they call them "townies" there.. Even "Finding Bigfoot" show went there to film.. They're in Australia, "yowies", even New Zealand ("marero, something like that).. They're in many countries worldwide, period. Divine Angelic Best to ALL!! 😻🙇🏻♀️🙏🏼🕊️👼🏻🌻🌄🌞
Iv had a creepy experience in Woburn woods, Milton Keynes, England(uk). Me and my mate went into the woods around 3am cause we were young and bored, we went pretty far into the woods where it opens into field that has a view across Milton Keynes, there’s a steep hill that you need to climb down to get into this field, people use this an mountain bike jump, once we got to the bottom and to the other side of the field we heard knocking back up in the trees, no animal noises, dead quite, when then heard VERY heavy footsteps walking at the top of the hill, no way a man could stamp that heavy while moving that quick, me and my friend looked at each other and legged it out of there, he to this day doesn’t go back to the woods, I do and still have many strange things happen there, it’s not the biggest woods, but if you wanted to hide something in there you probably could
Thank you Basecamp!😊 P.S. I will share an epic story that happened to my family on Firetrail Road Marysville Washington in 1993 Christmas Eve Concerning the Tall Whites. It was beautiful.
They (Sasquatch) seem to have quite a nice nature about them, generally speaking. Kind of chill, nonchalant, curious, humourous at times, and caring - from the many times they assist or help humans and children who have ended up in precarious situations. Of course, like any bear or even human, don't mess with their kids lol!
Thanks Chris. It is so nice to be in a community of other "experiencers". When you witness something as unbelievable as these things are, it really shakes up your reality! I have found that I have to be very careful about who I can share my experience with. I think some people are too afraid to entertain the idea that there are these big, cunning , possibly dangerous creatures roaming around in the woods. It would make it pretty hard for them to enjoy the great outdoors. It is easier for them to just ridicule our encounters. I get it. But it is so upsetting to see these things and not be able to share the experience. I am not making it up. I saw something so far removed from any other animal I have ever seen in the woods. I know it was a gift to witness it! Not many get the chance to. Thanks so much, all the best to you. Wendy Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦
If you grow up in BF country, then it's not so unusual for people to at least think they're possible. BF bumper stickers everywhere, etc. But I recently brought one of my stories up with a Hawaii friend who gave me the eyeball as if I'm a crazy person. But then again, people in Hawaii have Menehunes or little spirit people who get blamed for lost car keys and who ate the last cookie. :D This same person relayed a personal story about Pele the goddess of the volcano, so hmm. :) I know what I experienced as well.
Love your coping mechanism trekking back to the car whenever you are up and about in the dark forest. You are brilliant in how you have mastered the clean aesthetic of your presentation style. No fluff. Relatable and the fact you go “hands on” in the dark makes us all appreciate our cozy homes but allows for vicariously going along on the ride with you. Stay natural and real.
Hey chris, you got me hooked on Sasquatch, I watch others but you're my favorite. I have answered this to you before a number of times but I'm sure I was chased by one when I was a young guy and thank God it was a good one. It was dark and never saw it. Love the surrounding scenery and especially the main one when you were telling the stories, so picturesque. I was salivating when you were preparing your meal😂 I usually watch you late at night for better effect. Thanks a lot buddy and keep hiking.❤❤❤
Chris...this is my favorite channel and I so look forward to your stories especially on Sunday and love the beer and ale you review. Thank you for doing this for us and stay safe out there and GOD BLESS
Great video Chris. I really enjoyed listening to other viewers' stories and experiences. Thank you for doing what you do. A new video from Base Camp Chris has become something I look forward to every Sunday. Stay safe and "Keep Hiking". One of your loyal viewers and subscribers, Steve.
You should know how much your content helps me and hopefully others. There is definitely healing in being in and surrounded by nature. Albeit the Sasquatch is definitely a predator, but imo the human predator is just as dangerous. Love your content and wonderful experience story telling. I as well look forward to your videos. 😊🇨🇦
Look forward to Sunday. Listen while I hang out my laundry. Lol! Enjoy when you have guests and these listener stories. As always, careful out there Chris.
Your new videos are one of the best things about Sunday! I hope you never stop sharing these stories. I really enjoy the variety of settings, beer choices, the occasional cooking lesson, and viewer comments. I think it would be a good idea to combine smaller stories into one video occasionally. I think you did that once. Keep hiking and storytelling!
Recently I bought my quite rural home in West Virginia. My property line is shared with Nathaniel Mountain Wilderness. Last summer I was asleep in my upstairs bedroom with my wilderness facing window open. I woke to the sound of a loud, deep female voice talking in an unfamiliar language. She spoke with varying voice tones and pitches. It sounded like she was a short distance into the woods. I was so frightened, my heart was racing as I rushed through the house making certain the doors and windows were all locked. The voice stopped but after a few minutes I heard loud noises, like someone slamming several times with a large piece of wood on a tree. A couple minutes later I heard a loud cracking sound, like a tree limb breaking. I laid awake and frightened for the rest of the night, but heard nothing else. The next day when I was outside in my yard, I saw a dogwood tree near the edge of the forest had been broken in half. Since then I make sure my house is always securely locked up at night.
Chris, I think you should organize a hiking trip with some of your fans to the woods one of these days. Maybe an overnight or couple of nights camping where you all can exchange spooky stories over a campfire. It'll be interesting if you can make a video of it, for us subscribers who live in Asia and other parts outside of the U.S. There surely must be fans of you who live close to where you are, that might be interested in such an outing. It'll be great, don't you think so? And Chris, your videos are something I've immense pleasure in watching (at the same time it spooks me without fail...lol). Keep the good work going, Chris. Keep Hiking ✌🏽
Hi 👋 Chris. Thank you so much for the fascinating stories of people's encounters, and for sharing the awesome views of your surroundings. I'm from the UK 🇬🇧 and I feel like I'm right there with you. Keep hiking, stay safe and God bless xxx
Ah, I love that area you’re in! It’s such a special place for me and my family. I cried tears of joy when I visited there after the Tamarack fire, seeing that the beautiful meadow had survived. It is an ancient and spiritual place. Great video, as always. Creek tacos - yum! Your campfire cooking segments are always a treat!
It was so awesome to hear you read my comment :) Thanks for all your stories. You have a great variety of videos but the scary stories are my favorite!
I have motion detectors and spot animal movement when I’m awake at night. My dog needs to go out sometimes so I set up something like an airport system so I can spot an animal coming around on our blind side. A Bigfoot certainly is not concerned about stealth. If I saw one in the window I would find it hard to close my eyes for long. Your channel is amazing.
All of your stories are scary. Enjoyed the writing of Trish. She appears to be full blooded for partial Native American. I am part Cherokee and this is the way that we view Bigfoot - a keeper of the forest. Who is to say that Bigfoot just maybe left over from the Neanderthal Period in our world. They could have survived the Ice Age.
Really enjoyed the video where you interviewed the man that it happened to at the end. Please consider doing more of that (unless you already are...I'm brand new to your channel and love it!!!)
Good to see ya yet again Mr Chris!! 15:31 By the way, I could be wrong, but I think Gregory meant to say "cher" at the end of his comment, if so, then it's actually pronounced "shy", which is cajun french for darling or honey.
Chris, Have you ever forgotten to pick back up your camera as you were walking away? lol I'm always looking for bigfoot in the background as you are telling your stories. I listen to them at night for more effect. I appreciate you, thank you.
My husband and twin 16 year old sons just loooooove your videos! They have developed an interest in cooking too!! We've always been semi-obsessed with Sasquatch...but now cooking too because of your videos! For two years we lived in McCall, Idaho...and my mother-in-law worked for years in Yellowstone. You probably know her!! We have a cabin in Island Park. Come to the Smokies if you're out East...we'll show y'all a good time! ❤
Always great to listen to these stories! Grew up in San Diego CA and now live in Colorado for the past 3 years. I can say I know exactly what that "terrified for no reason" feeling is! It happened to me a couple times while out surfing in Oceanside CA. It's a feeling deep in your soul like, I need to get out of here now. Come to find out later that day there was a 10-12 foot great white sighted near the pier where I was surfing! And I've felt that while out camping here in Colorado as well. Not sure what it was that time but I just had that sinking feeling that something was close and saw me, but I couldn't see it...
Love the show Chris, I watch almost every week, I am not sure if you have already done an episode on this encounter , and I missed it, but when I first joined the Army back in the mid 90's I heard about an encounter on Fort lewis, up in Washington state that a platoon or company sized element of Army Rangers had. I was stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky at the time, and had a buddy that had come to us from the Ranger battalion on Fort Lewis and he was still in touch with buddy's he had there. They told him that "something" had run through a patrol base that they had set up in a training area there, and that a few Rangers had been injured. They said that it was not a bear and that it ran upright on 2 feet. This could just be another made up military stroy by someone who thinks it's funny, however Rangers are pretty professional guys and I doubt they would have made up a story like that. I remember it was sort of a big deal for awhile people arguing if it had really happened or not. I was just wondering if you have ever heard of this encounter or something like it? Take care be safe.
Thanks Chris ❤I have searched for other camp storytellers But there’s No one even close to you! I wish you had more videos per week cause one is just never enough lol😂. Nidya from Texas
I started watching your videos awhile back on my tablet in the kitchen and now my husband also likes listening to you as well. I have never been in the deep wilderness so I don't have any stories but I believe in the possibility that big foots exist. There are vast amounts of wilderness out there and can be any creature living in it. It creepy how you can stay in the wilderness after dark telling these stories. I know that you said before that you are well armed which is good. You have a great way of telling stories and encounters of other people. We are from New Brunswick Canada and thank you for your stories and this Chanel. Stay safe and keep hiking!!
Thank you for sharing these stories, Chris! It's always a special treat when you incorporate cooking into your videos. Reminds me of the old school Base Camp Chris videos. JH!
