Part 2 of the Storage Unit cleanout. Even more vintage treasures found! Follow me on Instagram @paperandmoose #retrotoys #vintageclothing #abandonedstorageunit
Quote Tony (at the fleamarket): "She (Renée) is one of my better friends !" Well, if you watch this vid, Tony, let me tell you that you are blessed with friends like that ! "Mean people suck". They do indeed. Cool vintage microphones from Ohio (if they work). Great storage unit job, though it was hot, dusty and dirty, but it was also fun ! Thanks for sharing, Renée ! Greets from GER, U.
Those home taped VHS tapes can be sold, but of course you would have to watch them. And what you are looking for are the ones that didn't have the old commercials deleted out. People will pay quite a bit for those that have the old commercials still in them.. That storage unit is a killer for Tony and you both !! Every time that you find something that like you need to yell out " HOLY MOLEY" !!!! Don't throw out the "VIEDOS" !!! Thanks for Sharing !
Kind of cute stuff. I'm not sure what would make me excited. Oh,wait. A Civil War anything. Or a Rev War anything. Or indigenous anything would make me excited. Thanks Renee.
Renee, your reactions & expressions are the best 🤣. You truly enjoy yourself doing what you do. Its a pleasure to watch you because you love doing this. Thanks & happy treasure hunting. The Snoopy curtain & that wrangler jacket were worth the trip. On Esty, prices range $ 250 - 900 for a blue bell wrangler jacket. FYI.
I personally wouldn't throw away the furniture. It would be a great flea market item for others looking to upcycle vintage furniture! Besides they don't make furniture like they used to, everything is wood composite these days. Such a wonderful unit. Your friend definitely scored!
This is like “garbage bag house” but on a ginormous scale…. I love watching these on your channel. Thank you for all your hard work that we are able to relax at home and also enjoy your finds 👍🏾 Thank you.
the physical reclamation of MIA work was done by archaeologist. My father worked in Grave Registration after WW2 and he worked under a new system that had been set up. It fell under The Quartermaster's Office. I'm sure you can look up the history of it, but it was a system set up immediately after WW2.
This unit reminds me of when I was still working. Our building was to be remodeled, so we had to move to another building. My (lovely, kind) boss printed everything that came to his email! It would get piled up on a big table with other paperwork. When we moved out of that office it all went into boxes. ALL OF IT! Ten years later we had been back in the building for nine years and it was all still in boxes! He really was a wonderful boss, but he couldn't get rid of anything!
So many people purchase storage units for big money because of the "fakes" that they see on tv & RU-vid. It's an instant lesson when they buy a unit and realize that totes aren't filled with gold jewelry, vintage collections, and safes filled with money.
Looks like some good stuff along with the papers and things! If you think they never tossed any papers, my Dad had them beat. I cleaned out my parents house and there were bills, cards, letters etc.. from 50 years ago! It was a long process cleaning it out. I spent two months plus.
The cabinet with fishing stuff looks to be a fly tying cabinet, depending on whats inside could be big bucks. Give me a shout if you need help as fishing stuff is what I do.
Look through all that paperwork. When my grandfather passed, I went through boxes of paperwork that my dad just wanted to throw out. I was hoping to find letters and old photos but I found envelopes full of cash. 👍
That was one heck of a storage unit. You are such a hard worker and always so positive. In hard to reach places I always say "Go Go Gadget arm" 😄 Thanks for taking us along.
Wow!!! It’s like you get to time travel back to your childhood with some of the items in this storage unit. I’m glad that you found the POW vintage T-shirt and a really nice old blue Jean jacket. Looks like you’re having too much fun and thanks for bringing us along we really appreciate it.
A lot of history in that unit!!! At Arlington National Cemetery they have military history museums- if you are so inclined, they may be interested in books photos uniforms - even that army issued blanket. There are also more local groups of former military trying to preserve the past - a little on line digging should find you someone to talk to - as well as a lot of towns have a Vets representative that has office hours. Thank you for the work you did to put names to remains. Both my parents were military in the 40s - and are buried at Arlington.
Hi Renee. This is going to be a long clean out. Renee, you are finding some awesome stuff in the Unit. The Bible is one of the most expensive finds, and their can be big money in some of the stuff the two of you are finding. God Bless you Renee my friend. Thank God you did not take down the bins. You could have been hurt. Please stay safe my friend. On to another day of cleaning upt the unit. Maria. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Renee, you may as well take your time cleaning this locker out as your traveling plans going to Yellowstone this year may not take place because of the conditions going in/out of the park. (Hope you got my emails) 😔
Have to check my emails! I go the end of September, so by then I would think the other entrances will be open. The northern part won’t be open, but there’s still plenty to see in the other areas of the park.
Wow! There are so many boxes and totes with anything and everything. I would think that Habitat would take the furniture as it looks pretty decent. We had those army blankets in my family for years. Looking at this reminds me that I should be going through my files again. By the way, your hair looks very cute.
Hi! Just finished watching your storage unit "gamble" I love to see what you find. You get so excited! I went to a tag sale awhile back and grabbed a stack of vintage photographs and negatives. The negatives were the larger ones. Anyway, I didn't really go through them at the tag sale, but the top one is a vintage burlesque picture. There are also other pictures from WWII in there and it is an island right off of Japan. It is U.S. soldier. It has some pretty graphic pictures of deceased bodies, skulls, etc. Also the wording on the back were rather "not nice" when describing. I took some of the negatives and using a positive app on my computer was able to see the pictures. Those were of some amazing fun early 1900's pictures. Fun Halloween one where they were dressed up. Water rowing pictures and swimming pictures. All kinds. Those are neat. If I can I would love to send you some! If you want them.
Coney island was an amusement park outside of Cincinnati on the Ohio River. Such fun childhood memories. Kings Island replaced it opening in 1972. Microphone could be great collectors items.
About the denim jacket: The patch of old "hippie" guy with the beard "just passing thru": he is Mr. Natural, a comic figure drawn by the artist R. Crumb in the late 1960s-early 1970s. I've got comics that I bought (at "head shops") back then and kept them all these years.
The two standing microphones you found are D-104 radio mics commonly seen on Browning Golden Eagle CB Radios (Hence the eagle on the back of the mic head) and at this point not cheap.
Hi Renee, I think the Astatic microphone is a “Silver Eagle.” Look on the back of the round part. Nice find! Hopefully there will be more vintage electronics. Those mikes were popular with both hams and CBers for decades. They’re still in use.
Renee really fun watching you go through all the neat things in shed. I can tell you were having great fun opening the bags. That Wrangler jacket was awesome!!! Delaware 😊
Awesome jacket. You should have kept it and rolled up the sleeves....loved this storage unit video. Great stuff with some great history to it. Glad it was you he called on.
Habitat takes all kinds of stuff for their ReStores; the one near me sold off a TON of upholstery fabric this year. They don't take clothes, but sometimes will take mobility stuff, durable medical, picture frames of any size, costume jewelry etc.
That “just passing by” guy is also the same guy on the “keep on trucking’” logo (in the seventies). Not the best clean out, but there’s still enough interesting items! ✌🏼❤️
Those are CB mlcs. The one is called a Silver Eagle. They were the bomb back in the eighties. I had it and the other. We had a cb in the house and my husband was a truck driver. We were living in a little bitty town in Missouri called Minden mines. I was doing the check book one day and there was a deposit from somewhere in Texas for $250.00. I called the bank president and he said people will somehow get your checking account info and deposit and write hot checks on the account. So we changed our account # no checks had been written from whoever this person was. I asked Berries what should we do with the money he said well he put it in your account so it's yours. Ha! There was a very very tall CB Tower my friends had for sale so we bought that. I could talk to my husband while he was out in a lot of different states. Had a lot of good times with that. Good memories of friends made.
Those microphones are sooooo cool.....IF they weren't worth a lot ( I am sure they are) I'd make them into lamps.......You won't need to go to the gym today lifting all that....Lol didn't get me w/that song...I didn't know it.....Love the POW/MIA shirt....I'd have to see what is on the "viedo" tapes...never know what important moment might be on there....
There are some nice things. It was fun to watch. Did you keep the cat? She is so cute. There are ways to surface clean older plush toys. Could probably find a “how to” on RU-vid!
From whatI could tell of furniture it’s the type that a lot of people are repurposing with paint and image transfers. I know some times Facebook market place doesn’t work with clean outs. Maybe Goodwill would take.
Thanks for sharing the video I love seeing what kinds of treasures that you find the denim jacket is amazing and a great find I love the unboxings I can't wait to see what else you find hope you had a blessed day
Seen you climbing the ladder, think to myself, don't fall, but if you do, it could make good content! Lots of intresting items. I'd love to try buying a unit sometime, for the experience. 👍👍
I'm glad I was nosey after my brother finally cleaned out his chest of drawers at our house. Something told me to look in the garbage can. He almost threw out my dad's navy work shirt when he was on ship in Hawaii. Its a cool white shirt with his name on front and the name of his destroyer ship he was on and it has a label made in Hawaii. Too cool I washed it and it came out bright white. I dont think my brother did it on purpose it was all balled up.
@@PaperandMoose i was so glad too. I have a couple of funny saying t shirts my dad loved wearing i can fit in them. Also a polo shirt with golfers on it he wore. I'm just sentimental miss my da.
I'll put my dusty, musty "Storage Unit Face" on! Shame to dump that desk and dresser...those are from the 60's...the era of antique white and gold finished furnishings...no particle or press board then! That Astatic Mic...from the late 30's into the 40's period. I have the same one in my vintage radio and related items collection. Good evening ladies and gentlemen...and all the ships at sea!...it's the PAM Storage Unit Hour! As to those two mics...I'm looking for vintage types such as those to be used as props for a radio show production I'm involved in...perhaps Tony will want to sell them...let me know! I've been looking for these and other studio equipment for setting up the mock studio. Rather they be a part of our prop collection than ending up a the flea market. We are doing two shows...1947 "Through the Looking Glass"....1938 "War of the Worlds". We plan to Zoom these productions...as well in front of a live audience. EVERYTHING has a price!!!
Sorry Larry, wish I knew sooner about the microphones! This was filmed about a week and a half ago, so the microphones have already been sold at the flea market. But if I find another, I know where to send it to!
@@PaperandMoose I'm not surprised, hope they sold for decent money! If you do find anything similar, I will be interested! I was asked to rent a couple from my collection, but I declined...as "accidents" do happen. Renee, always love your excitement on finding treasures! I know that emotion! I will be the announcer and possibly acting as well. These productions will be Zoomed...I guess you'd be able to receive Zoom material. Will let you know "air time".
I have a friend who was working in retail. This was a long time ago. The store was having a cutomer appreciation day and was providing free donuts and coffee. The manager created a sign on a piece of poster board. My friend walked to the front to have a look. She asked the manager, if he read the sign? He just looked at her and kept doing whatever it was he was doing. My friend walked to back so he would not hear her laughing. The sign read free dognuts and coffee. LOL
Honestly thought the camera was going out of focus about ten minutes in because something unpleasant was going to come out of the double-bagged black sack.
Wow, someone's Iife in there! The owner must have passed away. So sad. Wonder how long that stuff was stored in there? Not to mention if it's hot outside!
Hello Renee. I know someone should go through and maybe fast forward the videos just in case. What if he taped himself telling about what he went through in the war? I mean probably not but it popped in my head and I thought I’d say something to you. I know I’m probably really wrong about it. Anyway just a thought. Did you keep the poor musical stuffed animal 🧸 it looked so cute and sad ? This unit is unique in so many ways historically and sentimental and dare I say it FUN. But I’m loving seeing and hearing about it. I hope you had a lot to drink with you the heat probably wasn’t to bad when you did this but still . Take care. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🫖☕️🫖☕️🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯
It's okay to say Fun! My friend has the VHS tapes, so I'll ask him what he found on them once he views them. Hope you have a great rest of the week Verette!
