Brisbane Roar under Ange played the most scintillating, mouth-watering football one could imagine - it took a while for the team to click, but when they clicked... oh man! I believe that soon enough Celtic will be laying opposing teams to waste; putting them to the sword with style and verve, like nothing Scottish football has seen before.

36 unbeaten may not sound that impressive compared to some of Celtics unbeaten runs but Oz is salary capped (at about 1.5m pounds for the whole squad!) - all teams have essetially the same budgets with a couple of 'marquee' exceptions. There are NO Celtic vs Dundee/St Mirren/Livi/St Johnstone mismatches. Ever. in that Context its amazing. He basically got lower-skill pro's to play this system. Celtic should slaughter it.

I was at that pre-season game against Everton and I remember thinking how different the football was that the Roar were playing to the previous seasons. They weren't afraid to attack or take the game to them and it's more surprising thinking back to it now because they hadn't even played a league game under Ange at this point. They lost the game but they certainly made it an entertaining watch against a Toffees squad that was also in pre-season.

Wow what an interview! Matt Smith great guy. It's clear that Ange doesn't value ego's. He would find plenty of inflated ego's down in the EPL, which makes me think that now that he has shaped his team at Celtic, that he won't be going anywhere in the near future. Having said that, it would be hilarious to see players reaction if he turned up at Chelsea or Man Utd. Imagine Lukaku having to face up to big Ange! 😂
@newfarmunited
@newfarmunited 2 года назад
It would be absolute mayhem if he went to a big EPL club. He would make wholesale changes in those teams, and their boards would have a meltdown. Players like Ronaldo don't suit his playing style and would be moved on. Ange needs the board 💯supporting him, which would be difficult for those big EPL clubs to do. If he moved to the EPL it would probably be to someone like Everton, Newcastle, Leicester, or Leeds.

Great stuff again Hamish 👏 I'm loving all the Ange content & background 🇦🇺 Really can't believe I was reading the odd 1 or 2 negative comment on various sites the other night after a well dug out and cracking 3 points up Pittodrie. My only concern is the amount of attention our new player's and manager are attracting from the "Moneybags" of the EPL, and it really is down to the almost unbelievably positive impact Ange has had right across the club since becoming our gaffer. I don't doubt one of the big, big top 6 teams down there, or top sides from the other main European teams will eventually come calling. But in the meantime It's going to be a such an epic and proud few seasons under this special manager & group of magic players 🍀🍀🍀🍀 HH

People always say that, in football, “money talks”. However, and this isn’t just wishful thinking, I don’t believe that this is the case with Ange. I genuinely believe that Ange isn’t motivated by a bigger wage packet for himself💯 Listening to how he talks about former clubs and why he left them, it’s always been about challenging himself, feeling he has a point to prove, in that, his football philosophy and style of play, works and works best! Once he’s taken Celtic as far as he feels he can, he’ll move on. So maybe money could influence that, with regards to the amount he has to spend on bringing in the players he wants. I think he’ll stay for 4yrs, at least! He’ll dominate domestically and take us as far as is realistically possible, in Europe.

Would be great if you guys interviewed people from Ange’s club, South Melbourne Hellas. I see many fans say ‘Ange gets it’ re: Celtic as a club and supporters. Reasons why he ‘gets it’ is because South Melbourne Hellas like the other old clubs in Australia, are exactly like Celtic, founded by migrants and is an important part of the cultural identity. Only difference is clubs like South Melbourne are barred from competing at the highest level in the country, and have so for more than 15 years when they whitewashed the game.

Stopping Anges team? Reminds me of Mike Tyson that all his opponents came into the ring with a Plan. 👍

I believe Mike Tyson said, everyone's got a plan until they get punched in the face.
