Yet the auto industry conceded the small car market in the 70's. If your raw material has a high tariff on it, t is cheaper for you to lay off the workers at your plant in Wisconsin, have the steel shipped to Mexico where the workers that you pay mere pennies can build your product, import the finished product, pass the Tariff on to your customers.
