William Kopp, a former pastor at Stuarts Draft Baptist Church, faced backlash from his congregation after he delivered a scathing sermon about former President Trump in 2020. #CNN #news
So let me get this straight... this man preached to you for years, prayed for you and your family, probably presided at weddings, baptisms and funerals; went to hospital visits, counseled you and comforted you at your lowest moments and then he preaches one sermon about a politician that angers you to the point that you demand he be fired..... that says more about the congregants of this church than it does about the pastor.
@@archieclement2977 I guess you missed the part that this was during COVID. They were having an outside service. Most tapings of inside services the congregants are more confined to one area.
He isnt brainwashed and spoke the truth which apparently so many cannot handle. Why is it so hard to accept a separation of church and state and to shun people in church is not the golden rule or very Christian is it?
@@sandrawamerdam2219My pastor is college educated. He knows a lot about history, and the context of history of cultures and customs of the times. Guess what? He's not a fan of trump either. I think a lot of it has to do with intelligence.
Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own, they belong to the God who sent me - (John 14:24). And when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. I said not to them except what You commanded me to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness. Prophet Jesus will request Allah to forgive Christians and to not punish them but Allah will say today the truthful will enter heaven - (Quran 5: 116-119).
They could not reconcile the fact that they were played by religion and politics at the same time. So as docile obedient Trump supporter, they chose to silence the messenger to shield them from an uncomfortable truth. They are not on Jesus side if they side with Trump.
I wonder what he suggested Christians should do if they can't vote according to his teaching because the candidate in his judgement is not righteous. Trump in his presidency never passed a legislation that promotes evil according to the Bible but his opponents support and have done so.
You should stand up and applaud the scriptures on this topic. 1st Corinthians 3 "11 For no one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 14 If what he has built survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as if through the flames. 16 Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. 18 Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become a fool, so that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” So, the pastor is Lying and because he judged perversely, his perverse judgment falls on himself. Just because the false pastor does not like what other Believers are building on the Foundation of Jesus, he says they are not Christians and are supporting the Anti-Christ. Even though there is a 100% clear full teaching in the scripture that refutes him and exposes him as a deceiver. Moreover, he is supposed to be a Good Shepard of the sheep, yet he is trying to butcher his flock with false accusations and false teachings about scripture. Jesus own words in Matthew 7 1 “Stop judging, so that you won’t be judged, 2 because the way that you judge others will be the way that you will be judged, and you will be evaluated by the standard with which you evaluate others. 3 “Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when the beam is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” This means by his own words; he is not a Christian because his judgment is that if a Christian support the liar, you do not support Jesus Christ and he (the pastor you stand with) lied and falsely accused Christians of not being Christians. See PSALMS 82 where God explains about corrupt children of God and why they die. Jesus quotes from Psalms 82. In John 10. Well, the preacher you stand with is lying, so you uphold unrighteousness and defend the wicked. No worries though, Jesus says that if you die and the false pastor dies, he shall raise you up on the last day. After all, Saul (the literal Anti-Christ) was hunting Christians and Jesus appeared to him and destroyed him with the power of his words, then sent him blind to be raised from spiritual death (baptized) and was reborn as Paul and after three years of discipleship by the Holy Spirit in the Arabian Desert, Paul came out teaching the Factual Gospel of Jesus Christ. Perhaps the deceived pastor and you have hope by being discipled by the Holy Spirit and you live. When you study, I advise you to ask the Holy Spirit to help you note Who, What, When, Where How and sometimes Why. This way you know Full Teachings on topic, and you do not get sucked into schemes of deception and wickedness.
"You can't support a lie and claim the truth." As a Christian I couldn't agree more. (And I couldn't have said it better myself.) They keep trying to have it both ways, and all they're doing is making spiritual folks appear to be nothing more than hypocrites. (Which is what THEY are, not the body politic.) Great job.
As ridiculous as "believing in" Donald Trump is, being a Christian and falling for that pack of lies is even more ridiculous. This man spreads lies and misinformation and deserves no credit whatsoever.
It is easy to stand in front of a congregation, an audience, a classroom, or your family and tell them what they want to hear. It is far more difficult to tell them what you may think they need to hear, but don't want to hear.
If you support an adulterer, a liar, a rapist, a blasphemer and a guy who embodies every one of the Seven Deadly Sins and call yourself a "Christian", you are the absolute worst example of your religion. You are the reason so many young people are rejecting your churches. In about 5 -10 years, when the results of your hypocrisy are really being felt; your church pews and coffers empty, your faith a dying joke, I wonder how many will even admit they ever voted for the Orange Orangutan? Those boomers who give you money and legitimacy are dying out and there are no loopholes for hypocrites in God's house. Idol worship, whether of a man or his money, is blasphemy.
He did it expecting to get fired. He didnt want nothing to do with that church. We already see pastors speaking openly about politics and not getting fired because their congregation usually agrees with the pastor. He was tired of preaching at a pro trump rally lol. plain and simple.
My family and I have worshipped at a certain Christian church for 11 years as committed followers of Jesus, The CHRIST, and as committed members of that congregation. I was very saddened, but absolutely clear that it had become a place where a political ferver had become more important and more prevalent than the simple truth of the gospel. I have since taken my family from that church organization in search of a church home. It broke my heart to see the ceaseless capitulations that have come in service to this godless cult of personality around the former president, who has used the people of GOD merely to empower himself and fully in service to himself alone. And now, this so-called "christian" nationalism. GOD's word warned that many, even many believers would fall prey to the false prophet in the last days. Thank GOD for the willingness of this paster (William Kopp), at the risk of his own personal loss to say what we ALL know is true. GOD is REAL. Thank you Pastor Kopp. Blessings.
@kevinwilliams8051, IMO, DJ6T IS the AntiChrist. I am absolutely convinced of it now, 2/23/24. Claiming he is the Messiah, pretending to be faithful to Jesus Christ, lying every time his mouth is open, trying to turn our country into a fascist autocracy, supporting & bragging up other countries leaders who have committed genocide, starved their own people, allowing their own citizens to freeze to death. He's the most despicable individual I have ever seen! I along w/many more that want to see him behind bars for what he's done to this country and it's citizens, just want him to face consequences for his behavior & actions. 😮😢😮
Speaking truth to power is always difficult and likely involves a sacrifice on your own part to do so. For this pastor, it was his career he gave up - his wife knew it the moments his sermon began.
He is now out of a job, however, if you kicked off a "Fund Me", he would be a millionaire overnight. He would also probably have a case for wrongful dismissal!
