Hi Allison & Gordon, your excitement is just contagious! I couldn’t stop smiling as I was watching your video. Just catching glimpses of the Majestic as u r heading towards the port is like u r meeting an old friend. On Oct 11th, the Majestic was in San Francisco. She is the first cruise ship to come to SF since the shutdown in March 2020. We drove to the pier just to ogle at her. We knew you would be on her soon. Holland America ms Koningsdam & the Celebrity Millennium also came into port on the 13th. Great for Sf tourism dollars. Can’t wait till we start cruising next summer on the Discovery to Alaska & on the Celebrity Summit to New England/Canada next fall. I can sense u both have an emotional connection to cruising. Seeing these cruise ships is the most beautiful sight. We really appreciate u both for bringing us along! Many thanks!
Hi, It is always so nice to hear from you. You have really wonderful cruises lined up. We do love cruising. I think it’s because we get to leave stress behind and spend time together relaxing and having fun and visiting beautiful places all while being on the ocean. Thank you very much for all you add to our community. Thank you!
Thanks guys, gday from Australia we are sailing from there back to back and great insight to give us the heads up. La to Vancouver and then Vancouver - Alaska - so looking forward to flying and sailing again
Hi David, We are so glad to have you here! I am sorry cruising is taking so long so restart there in Australia but so happy to hear you are getting to come here and enjoying cruising again! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions and we wish you all the best! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
Excellent... "blow by blow" of this embarcation, which I'll be doing id February (Grand Princess to Hawaii) but excellent to see what this port looks like (BTW... on 14min 10sec. they are playing Cuban music, very dear to my heart....GRACIAS
It is so nice watching the video of the Majestic Princess. My husband and I will be hopefully be on the Majestic Princess on the 6th November. We are on the Riviera deck. Really excited.
Thanks so much Gordon and Allison. I love all the details you captured in this video. Looking forward to our California Classic cruise on the Majestic 4/23-4/30. Have a relaxing cruise and thanks for bringing us along.
Hi Monica, Thank you so much for watching and coming along with us. We are so excited for you to go on your cruise in April. We are having the best time and know you will too!
Monica, we were on the California Classic the week before Gordon and Allison. The highlight of the trip was sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. Plan your dinner for after the sailing so you can be on the top deck at the bow for the sailing. Bon Voyage!
Not sure if you go back to these older videos but what camera did d you use for this video. Beautiful picture. This was really helpful seeing the various stages of embarkation. Lots of walking!
Hi Ricardo, We are excited for you to get to sail on the Majestic Princess! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching and subscribing! We are glad to have you here with us!
Fantastic video Allison & Gordon. Enjoyed every minute and all the information. 2 Questions: 1st) When y’all caught the Princess Shuttle and loaded your luggage, was that the last time you handled your luggage besides carryons? Was your luggage delivered to your stateroom from the shuttle? 2nd) With drink package you get a drink tumbler while supplies last, where do you go for the tumbler? (Guest Services?)
@Jack Frost Hi Jack, I’m sorry to be so late replying. The last time we saw our luggage was at the airport when we met the Princess rep. They take the luggage then and the next time you see it is in your stateroom. I didn’t see any tumblers anywhere on our Alaska cruise in August or in this one. They used to always just be in our room waiting for us but maybe with the pandemic they are not doing that for awhile. Thank you so much.
@@LetsGoTravelTips thanks Allison for going to the trouble to answer my questions. But, I understand that can’t always happen especially w/2,000. Thanks again and never worry about getting back to me. I appreciate all the hard work you and Gordon are doing for us.
Hi John, Did you see our Live video? If just wanted to make sure you saw that we got the shuttle at Baggage Claim 1 and we also picked up people at Baggage claims 5 and 8 so figure which one is best for you. Check your travel summary and see which baggage claim it tells you to go to. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching!
Aloha! Was this cruise the October 16th departure? We were on the Majestic Princess with you! I just found your channel; will look for us in the background, LOL. Thank you for your excellent vlogs and tips!
@LaVerne Yarmola Yes!! It was on the October 16th sailing! I am so excited to hear you were on the same cruise! Thank you for saying hi and thank you very much for watching our videos. I am really glad you are here with us!
@@LetsGoTravelTips Aloha! We just saw the television commercial that Princess was filming while we were on this cruise. I'm posting it to Facebook. During the bar scene, we were sitting in Alfredo's behind the actors' shoulders.
Thank you for sharing your trip, I really enjoy watching these. We will be going on the same cruise on October 30th. I am wondering if I still have to order the water even though we got Princess Plus with the premium drink package and that includes bottled water.
Hi April, Sorry I am late replying. No you don’t need to order the bottled water. You can just walk up to any bar and ask for a bottle of water and they will hand it to you! Thank you for watching!
Great video! Thanks so much for sharing! I can’t wait for my cruise in January! I’ve never been on Princess, but I’m surprised their ships look so dated and rundown.
I hope you love cruising on Princess. Maybe my videos aren't very good but at least the areas we were in didn't look rundown. You'll have to let us know what you think once you get back from your cruise. Thank you!
@@LetsGoTravelTips that might be something to consider pointing out on your next embarkation cruise post for us novices. When I was on my 3 day carnival cruise I didn’t know how to keep straight what side of the ship I was on when I exited from the lobby-often on the wrong side of my cabin-And I WAS SOBER-unlike many others-lol-and I still got lost. If it is true on Carnival, I wish someone had pointed it out to me🤣
@FISHURMO Thank you for your great suggestion! I have made a note to be sure to show that next time! If you have any other suggestions, please let me know! Thank you!
Hi Myra, Once you are logged into your princess.com account, go to the cruise and click on "Manage This Booking". Once you are in that cruise, click on "Onboard Services" (it is one of the headings across the top) then click on "View Options" under "Beverage Packages" and then scroll clear to the bottom and you will see where it says "Bottled Water Package" and you can order as many packages as you want. Each one has 12 water bottles for $7.08. Let me know if you have any other questions about this or anything else. Thank you so much!
Looks like there was a separate line for Platinum. I’m boarding in San Francisco on the first cruise on the Ruby so perhaps their will be a separate line for us. A number of us are waiting for our Medallion’s that are stuck in a post office in Southern California for 5 days. Just received an email that they will arrive in 5 days. YEA. Thanks for your video. Curious as to how they knew that you’re in group A?
Hi again Tom, Sorry my reply was so quick before. Since they had a separate waiting area for Platinum and Elite hopefully they will have that for in San Francisco too! When they called everyone for Group A, everyone in that group went and they scanned the Medallions before the gangway. Thank you so much!
@Raquel Hawthorne Hi Raquel, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's my way of saying someone might think something is beautiful and someone else, not so much.
Hello Allison & Gordon, I have a question! Mexican Riviera is our first cruise together, ever. What is your preferred ratio of port days to sea days? Does the amount of desired sea days vary depending on destination? We’re so excited to rest and feel like 3.5 sea days is ideal. I’m just curious as to how some people calculate how many sea days they want on their cruises.
Hi Trish, For us it depends on where we are going and what we want out of the cruise. I would say that if I am going to a region of the world where I am so anxious to get to see everything, I don’t care if there aren’t many Sea days at all. On the other hand, going to Mexico or the Caribbean, I want at least a few sea days to relax because that’s why I’m going. Does this make sense? Your questions really made me think about it so thank you! 💕Maybe I’ll do a video on this.
@@LetsGoTravelTips it makes perfect sense. I just hear everyone talking about how amazing sea days are and on my section 8 cruse I had 1 sea day and one Ensenada port day. I loved my day at sea, sitting in back watching the water the ship just sailed through for hours. It was hypnotic and relaxing. I don’t know how many of those days I could handle. Right now-we are both so exhausted, I’m thinking I could handle a lot of sea days, with few port days as rest and relaxation are priorities. We have 2 sea days then our 3rd port day is a morning (Cabo) so we have 1.5 sea days at the end. I like your opinion of whether or not the destination is of piqued interest and where it falls on the interest barometer. That seems weird to me (and here’s why) because cruising is such a rare luxury to me that I’m not in a position to go often enough that some destinations may be more important than others (hopefully in the future things get easier) I love Hawaii and would want to spend more than 1 day on each island so I know a Hawaiian cruise might not appeal to me-yet! I say yet because I don’t know how I will feel about lots of time at sea because I’ve never done it. I’m just wondering as we ponder our next cruise. Doing another Step above the section 8 cruise (4 day - Catalina/Ensenada cruise with BFF next January because I know with my sweet MIL’s decline, he will need to get away and her needs won’t allow us to be gone long. When she transitions to hospice, they cover 1 week of respite care and that might be our next cruise (cause our daughters will most likely be out of the house by then). I have lots of time to think and ponder ❤️
The Princess production shows were 7:30 and 9:30. It is a lovely idea to catch one before and one after. The main shows show the same show each evening at both showing times but they often have another show in the Vista Lounge. We will try to hurry and get the Patters posted soon!
@BARBARA SHUSTER The entire process from start to finish was maybe an hour from when we got to the port until we were on the ship. And that includes waiting a bit since they got us there so early.
Not all the time. When in enclosed public areas - elevators, hallways, The Piazza, theatres - Yes. When in your stateroom and while eating and being outside, not necessary. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
What is your question? We do have a video showing how the test is done and there is a link to where to order the test under that video in the description box. Thank you!
