@@bowencreer3922 The big appeal for many of us was the BIG BOOST of online players around launch. They ruined that. Now we have the option to paly the old version that A LOT of probably have or just wait till it has its inevitable STEEP SALE, since the only real reason to buy it is for single player.
@@bowencreer3922 That's nothing to do with what he said, why is it 'on' someone that doesn't want to play a broken, buggy game? That's a good thing. It's 'on' idiots who blindly preorder games and end up with broken buggy games which causes them to leave negative reviews which drives more players away. But mainly it is the fault of the publishers who release these games too early in an unfinished state, developers have to keep to deadlines, it's rarely their fault in cases like these.
@@bowencreer3922 If players won't play a buggy, broken mess when the previous versions of the game still work fine, then that's not on the player, that's on the developers and/or publishers (I'm blaming a little of both here - a month extra in development to iron these issues out would have worked) Choosing not to play a buggy mess is never on the player.
In another life, the Battlefront Classic Collection released in a fully functional condition, sold very well, and Battlefront 3 was finally green lit and blew all of us away. I wish I lived in that world.
On xbox, the servers are still pretty lackluster, one server has almost a full lobby while others are empty. In terms of gameplay, the lag and hitreg is slightly better but still noticeable. I'm just glad that they actually are fixing the game and not saying well we tried let's destroy another game.
IMO the biggest problem is 64 player lobbies, there’s not enough people for that plus it makes the game lag. Make it 30-40 players and you’d be able to fill out another server or two which give people options and variety.
Very proud of this community warning everyone to stay away until they fixed the game. We're not there yet but patches like these are a good, necessary step forward
Unfortunately though the damage is done. Even if they patch the game up to how it should've been at the beginning, there's no way they're getting the numbers back at launch.
The community doing this made the game enjoyable, I thought I was going to step into the worst gaming experience and was pleasantly surprised. There’s room for improvement but it will do for now
Every individual should be aware that games thesedays launch unfinished. Just stop pre-ordering and wait. Then games will be great again and there will be no need for warnings
You can see their thought process was literally that of the way companies treat modern video games This was their plan from the beginning, release something unfinished and fix it later Except this is an older game that already has different versions that run far superior You cannot treat old games the same way modern games are treated or you will lose the player base immediately as shown And in fact tbh because of the negative backlash that comes with the “release now, fix later” aspect of newer games it really isn’t worth it to do that for modern games either They never had any intentions of releasing a finished product on launch, all they’re doing is wasting the developers time
die hard Hero Assault player here, last days before the patch dropped, hit detetction for troops/Jango Fett was ass. Tantive IV, Geonosis and Endor made the game softlock and generally the game felt more sluggish. this has all been fixed. gonna fire up a sixpack with a friend and game the heck outta this, if youre in europe, hop on the game for an awesome time ;)))
I've been enjoying this game since launch on Switch, mostly (99 %) offline and I'm happy Aspyr is trying to fix this game. Played splitscreen and campaign solo without too much problems. Except: the AI seems to be too skilled, I dunno why but I can't finish the campaign of BF2 without cheats. On PC (Classic, 2005) there's not a single problem on these missions.
They screwed up how legendary awards work in the patch. Otherwise it seems they just got fix issues from the og pc version of the game (while it looks like the console versions, it is clearly the pc version that is used underneath) and hoth's texture glitching😊l
To me, the update was awesome. Was finally able to get my brother into a lobby with me which is really the only reason I bought the game. Also when I heard the correct loading screen sounds on BFI, I lost it.
Even if the game had no server issues, it made me really appreciate how good battlefront two is even today better graphics good music, great maps, better game modes, and had better coverage from when it was relevant
It's about time the first update to the classic collection came. Everything seems in order. But in my experience for the game on my Switch, there's still some bugs. Like for my game, it played the beginning of the mission cutscene again at the end of the mission. With the subtitles for the ending cutscenes playing before it plays the actual end cutscene, but the subtitles for that don't show since it randomly plays already. Hopefully the game keeps getting patch notes. Regardless, I still play the Classic Collection since this is the only means of playing the classic Star Wars Battlefront games for my end. And I'm grateful that it came to the switch.
I can use two controllers on Steam on PC but for me split screen mode is unplayable. You can't see shit using 21:9 monitor and if I switch to 16:9 that's not better. There should be a change to vertical view
On the xbox dedicated servers theres still alot of rubberbanding and you can find some decent games. I tested out a private match with auto aim turned on and that was a much better expierence. The sensitivity also still feels so off.
I played a game of CTF the other day and it was a freaking BLAST. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever played that mode and I’ve been playing BFII since it originally came out
Besides patches, I think this game needs a price drop to 15-20 dollars especially on pc as $35 is a crazy price when you can get games like helldivers 2 for just 5 more bucks. Obviously that's pretty unrealistic to happen so hopefully when it inevitably goes on sale it may get revived (i am coping)
As a gamer with full custody of 4 kids…shit is not cheap and ive purchased the classic collection day one. I still own the pc physical copy and it ran just as bad in multiplayer…around 2012.
Despite its flaws, I’m still enjoying the game. It makes the games so much more accessible. I got to sit on my couch and play Battlefront 2 on my Switch in handheld mode the other night. Very fun
The funny thing is that the loading screen sound STILL HASNT BEEN FIXED. Picky I know, but the first line of beeps is missing a last beep. They dropped the ball AGAIN. Don't be satisfied with shitty crowd control, the sound is NOT how you remember it.
Finally able to almost play this now, I'm a southpaw, now I can flip the Y axis but when I try and turn down the sensitivity so I can aim all I seam to get is now my character just walks really slow. To get him to move normal speed I have to turn the sensitivity to 10. What am I missing here?
The patch fixed most of my major single player problems but now we got the Elite status not working and its going to take weeks to get that fixed and hopefully something else doesn't break then. I love playing the game on my Switch but Aspyr flopped hard with this one. All they had to do was launch the same game from 20 years ago with new servers and people would have eaten it up. Instead they released it with a lot of bugs that didn't exist back then. I love having the old Star Wars games on my Switch but honestly Aspyr needs to be taken off of these ports and a more capable studio needs to do them.
I'll hop on Switch and Xbox if it's actually fixed most of the bugs. Got it day 1 on both but decided to wait to play after hearing about the bugs and server issues.
I've been having trouble with a lot of the achievements not working. I'm on xbox, and the medals just aren't registering/counting towards the legendary medals. Really annoying
I regret buying this game full price. I beat Battlefront 1 the first weekend and did have fun. Got up to the Utapau level on Battlefront 2 and the game crashed and haven’t played since. Online was never playable 👎
I just finished a bf 2 (2017) match on geonosis .. idc what people say, this game is amazing. It lacks of content? Sure but still an amazing multiplayer Star Wars game
@MrWord283 Depends if you play with a controller. The original does not have native controller support on PC. You can make it work, but it's not great. The collection is just the console version with full controllee support like the original Xbox and ps2 versions.
I dont play online, so i dont have any problems with this game other than bf2 audio problems and minor map glitches, i play this on ps5, and i enjoy this game overall
Ive had fun playing the multiplayer as its my fiest time getting to play that part of the games, but damn.... The servers r all mostly at zero and it's so sad. They really needed to make a good first impression and they dropped the ball so hard
Announcer voicelines are still way too quiet (even at max on the slider), a lot of the campaign objective complete noises play at the wrong pitch (but some don't?). Haven't tested it on instant action but for some reason a few enemy starfighters bug out and stay completely still I've got to say, I know it's not intended but I wish there was an option to disable auto medal bonuses--I've been playing a lot and have dmg/stamina/health increase and it takes away a lot of challenge starting with those.
If we ever do get a battlefront 3. I really really hope it will have Walker assault, supremacy, extraction, all those gamemodes we had in battlefront 2015 but also good modes from battlefront 2017 man i miss battlefront 2015's gamemodes and hate how they mostly cant be played offline that game was beautiful. To me it's a waste we got this collection and BF2042 years ago instead of a Battlefront 3.
A price cut and consideration of adding cross-play would really help people give this another chance. There are games that have launched in worse conditions and took even longer to get better. Halo MCC definitely comes to mind.
I'm still having issues starting a lobby woth my friends, everytime I create a lobby and set up a password the server doesn't appear for my friends and when I try to invite them directly it still doesn't work, hopefully this is fixed soon.
Don't get too hopeful. Ps servers are absolutely dead. There's next to no one. Beyond let down. Stayed up to spam the game on launch night and ended up drinking while playing alone. What a sad result... Truly let down.
@DOOMGUY164 I have 25 hours I'm at this point. I've played every game mode. The game is fine. How old are you? I'm 26, I remember how this game played on the PS2, this version actually plays better than it used to on the PS2. It's fine.

@@Bearbait01Playing better than the PS2 version means nothing considering the original PC version has been doing just that for the past 2 decades anyway. Why can't I play with the folks in the US if I'm in Europe? Why don't my hits register properly? Why does the game lag like crazy still?
@TSF_Ukraine I have none of the issues you mentioned other than the servers being region locked. For people complaining that there is no "party system" you shouldn't expect a 20 year old game to have one. I play with a friend of mine online and he just finds the right server, isn't hard. Although he does live nearby so he sees the same servers, I see how that could be annoying.
It’s not better on PS5, most lobbies were dead around noon cst on a Friday. Be interesting to see it tomorrow afternoon, but I wouldn’t expect it to be good then either.
At this point I’m only happy to have the game for the single player and because my friend and I play split screen from time to time. ( we are old school and he doesn’t own the game )
You gotta be crazy to give your money to Aspyr. Not gonna happen for a long time for me personally. I'll check back in on this game six months from now, but in its launch state it's a must avoid.

I’ll pick it up on sale just so I can finally get achievements in the game but honestly really disappointed that I’ll never get to experience the multiplayer.
I've enjoyed the absolute shit out of it so I got something. Instant game of the year for singleplayer imo, bought it for both Switch and ps4 and nearly got half the achievements
No publisher will be producing Battlefront 3. Everytime a Battlefront releases the Community is rolling a hate train (righfully). But because our (rightfull) gaming standards as a Community. The publishers will focus on game areas, where people can be fooled much more easily (Fifa)
It’s a game. It’s not too late for anything lol Star Wars battlefront two turned out to be magic and people still play it however, many years later just give it a chance.
I'm still playing on the switch I needed a battlefront game for Nintendo switch cuz it's handheld and we never got any battle front games for any Nintendo system
The recent handling of star wars games in general has just been so… disappointing. I’m a huge star wars fan and it is honestly depressing to see a franchise i enjoy so much getting treated like this.
Yeah 2 weeks later we finally get the update it should have been a day one patch! Im still having fun with the game just because its funny to find all the glitches but nobody is comming back to this game anymore lol
Would have been nice if they just gave SWBF IIC the Xbox DLCs, X-size mode, and added the HvV maps to the original game and just called it a day. At least I wouldn't have to fork over dozens of dollars for a glorified DLC and worse art design. I have great hope for Hunters, but they crippled themselves by not even having the OPTION to play on PC for like $5 on Steam or something. I don't think it's even going to be successful on Mobile, even though it deserves better.
sadly my first refund over 10 years on steam. I own the classic and when I realize i could just mod the first game and play on modded dedicated servers, i just refunded the game and played the classic with basically better or the same graphic upscaling from mods. plus the classic edition doesnt have cut single player content so ill just play BF2 classic personally.
They were waiting for each of the consoles to approve the patch, and then all 3 happened to approve it the same day? Am I an idiot for thinking that sounds weird?
They need to add more heros they have the chance to make who ever they want and put in I want gin to start but they have the ability to make new eras and new heros new trooper I play offline but yeah they have the ability to add and add more to it all
This patch made Battlefront 2 even less playable. The fact that none of the awards work now is ridiculous. It is an entirely different experience when you have all the awards unlocked vs when you don’t. I was waiting to play the campaign until the cutscenes were back, but now that I don’t have any of my awards anymore, I’m delaying it again. Oh, and something NOONE seems to be mentioning is that the achievement ‘Marshall Commander’ is broken on Xbox alone. It will unlock on all platforms except for Xbox. The only reason I didn’t refund this game was to get the 1,000 gamer score, and I sincerely doubt they’re ever gonna fix the broken achievement. This. Game. Is. TRASH.
I do have one issue now, I have legendary medals (like the upgraded pistol) and I’m supposed to have it at the beginning of a match, now I don’t get it til I get the medal now! Ugh!!! Why!?!
@@rawrdino7046 its not THAT dead. Just finished playing some rounds about 10mins ago (as of this reply) and i saw about 3 servers with at least 35 to 50 players. So its still mildly active, most players you'll see is primarily on the CQ servers though
