IT'S FINALLY OVER!! Mandalorian S3 Episode 8 FINALE BREAKDOWN!! 

I love how it was back to Din and Grogu towards the end and them fighting as a team. Grogu actually holding his own. What I didn’t like was no funeral or acknowledgment of Paz’s sacrifice.

I love how everybody was adamant that either the Armorer or Axe Woves were double crossing their own people... and they were all dead wrong.

Perhaps they are setting it up for Din Grogu to build his first lightsaber with the Darksaber crystal and ride the Mythosaur eventually becoming the long lasting leader of Mandalor.

Gideon is dead, but i'd wager the clone that "woke up" makes it out of there alive to take Gideon's place. A force sensitive Gideon will be entertaining. Secondly, of course they had to "destroy" the dark saber.. how else will Grogu eventually re-make it and ride the mythasaur? It's all setup for Din Grogu to be the second coming at some point in the future.

Moff gideons death looked like it came out of an 80’s action movie

I'm just so surprised we didn't see Pedro's face again, especially seeing as the living waters are easily accessible to any Mandalorian, kinda makes the whole threat of taking your helmet off null and void

Personally, I was relieved that none of the Mandolorians were turncoats. I have to admit, some of last week’s speculations had me a bit worried, especially where the Armorer was concerned. I’m relieved that those speculators were wrong. With the exception of a few scenes that were a bit off (or just plain weird), I thoroughly enjoyed this season. Of course, I understand why some were disappointed with this season, especially with the finale, but for me, it was satisfying. That being said, I’m also worried about where they’re going to go with all of this in season four. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I like the idea that the ending is Mando going back to being a bounty hunter.

I hope season 4 will focus on mando and grogu

This season ending felt more like a show ending tbh it just felt like a tidy end to din ,and grogu's story it's obviously not a show ending since there's a season 4, but I wonder if the focus for the next season will be on others characters.

Axe was doing what he knew was the right thing. Bo said use the ship as a decoy, not crash it into the base like a mando on a rampage.

My family and I enjoyed Season 3 and the season finale of the Mandalorian. Hope to see a Season 4 with more adventures of Din and Grogu.

With the ending we got the series can go back to a simpler episodic western style and free din and grogu up for camios in the other upcoming series set in the same time.

Regarding what's next for DinSquared.... I believe season 4 will be Mando hunting down members of the Shadow Councel after Ahsoka discovers them in her series and notifies the New Republic. Carson Teva hears about the Councel and sends Mando Guaranteed! Din will get an assist from Boba on his Shadow Councel hunt. And when going after Brendel Hux, DinSquared and Boba will discover the first First Order fleet. This brings DinSquared into the upcoming Thrawn conflict and is a perfect idea to lead into the Filoni movie in 2026. Also, did anyone else catch the foreshadowing when the camera panned from Grogu to the Mythosaur? Din Grogu is gonna ride that thing in the movie! Guarenteed! Thoughts?

I would have thought they would have at least had a secret scene/ending to connect the Ahsoka series with “the return” referring to Thrawn.

I'm not sure Moff Gideon is dead. He was fully clad in what looks to be the best armored suit in all of Star Wars. He could have easily jetpacked to safety using the fireball as cover. It'd be just like him to bail and save himself, too.

I find it interesting that Grogu is now "Din Grogu" and not "Grogu Djarin". It's clearly not the default in Mandalorian custom for the family name to come first (Bo-Katan and Satine Kryze, Sabine and Ursa Wren, Pre and Paz Viszla, Boba and Jango Fett, etc.), but this seems to imply that either such is the case with Din, or it's some particular custom with adoptions that the child takes the first name of the father/parent. I will note that Ragnar is conspicuously not listed with a family name in the credits.

I was actually more sad about them losing their capitol ship over the dark saber. Also would have made sense if they hid the fighters to go surprise attack the distracted bombers and interceptor as well as keeping the base. Episode wasn't bad but felt kind of rushed.

To me, these 3 seasons are the first phase in the story. Now it is over, and we can move on to the next phase in storytelling.

Wasn't expectin Gideon to die so soon after gettin such a upgrade; I thought he would directly challenge Grand Admiral Thrawn for succession of the imperial throne sense he did that in the previous episode, he was a brand new line of dark trooper robotics at his beck-n-call, an army of mando-troopers and so on, and that all gets thrown away. Either Thrawn's gonna recover Gideon's recourses and use it for his conquest of the galaxy or The Mandalorians will use the recourses for themselves, either way there's no way that the creators will just leave all that useful supplies just collectin dust.

8:35 Bo Katan is lucky that Gideon wasn't strong enough to crush the bones in her hand or wrist, and was only strong enough to crush a lightsaber resistant, impenetrable beskar alloy lightsaber,,, with one hand 🤣🤣

I have a feeling that we will see Din and Grogu in the Asoka series, seeing that he is working with the new republic. I think season 4 will have a time jump where Grogu will be able to take the creed and possibly rebuild the Dark Saber or get his own light Saber

This was my favorite season and favorite ending of a season! I'm low key hoping their isnt a season 4. Absolutely perfect

Kind of annoyed they broke the Darksaber, you know the badass looking lightsaber made out of pure unbreakable beskar, with Gideon’s new mechanized suit. A suit similar to the one an Imperial solider had until Bo-Katan impaled him with the Darksaber….

great ending to the first 3 season story. The show being able to go back to bounty hunting is big for future stories

People keep saying the writing is bad, but they really had EVERYONE super hyped and fantasizing over this series😂 not what I thought was gonna happen but I loved it

i think the clone who opend his eyes, is still alive maybe thanks to the force and will get a little bit mad, so he could work for Thrawn, like the one crazy clone in the books

Thanks to the season 3 finale of Mando, we now know that cloning with force sensitivity could be possible... And the Andor series, there was an easter egg featuring Starkillers armour... You see where I'm going with this... I know the Mandalorian happens way after Andor, but it seems all too much of a coincidence, in my opinion. So what if they're leaving little crumb trails of easter eggs to make Darth Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller, REAL?! I won't get my hopes up though, as not only is this is quite the long shot, but it's far too early to speculate with so little information, and I know Disney and K.K have their own agendas. What are your guys thoughts on this though?

Maul is known for always coming back. Now that Gideon has so much references to Maul, it won't suprise me he somehow returns later on just like Maul kept returning

Can we take a second to talk about how adorable the little mouse droid sirens were??? They just kept ramming into R-5. Tiny, but angry.

I would have liked a cameo with Grand Admiral Thrawn at the end, perhaps him coming out of hyperspace at the end of the battle. Thrawn would tell Captain Pelleon that 'they've earned their victory today' and that Gideon's demise was no significant loss to his final plans.

I dont really like how Gideon let din jarin kill his force sensitive clones. Moff Gideon had a map, and he knew exactly where din was at all times, and could have intercepted Din and Grogu before the clone chamber. :(

Was very happy with the badassery, I feel like it's still not over with Muff Giggidy. One his clones survived being how he's such a great villain. He's got contingencies.

Personally I was very satisfied with this season! The finale was awesome!

You could say that the dark saber being destroyed is also symbolic , its the end of old mandalore and the start or something new where all mandalorians are side by side instead of at each other throats

Am I the only one who thinks Gideon isn't dead. We don't see his body and he's still in pure Beskar alloy, witch could hold back the heat or atleast stop him from being killed. And his body is not there. And one thing iv learned about him is if we don't see him laying there or put in jail, he'll be back.

I like that at the end, Paz's kid does not make the promise to never remove his helmet. The covert is changing.

The fact that despite Gideon knowing where Mando is, he is not stopping him from killing the clones is such a classic bad "spy/agent" movie. Villian lets Protagonist destroy half the base before facing him, for no reason, writting.

Iam betting Paz's son will be a rival to grogu in the future....or he may end up being force sensitive.

I loved it. As for the future, I feel this offers strong future for 3 series. Boba and Bohka can have him in for cameos. You have a whole new base. All the hiding and running is over stronger factions have evolved

Grogu now has A crystal to make A new saber to run all of mandalore !

I bet next season moff Gideon will be alive with major burn damage in his mandalorian armor, and one of his clones survived and will be force sensitive. The force sensitive clone will kill the real moff Gideon and become the main villain

How do you know Gideon is actually dead? I kinda felt the same way … it feels like they may be done , with that ending and this seasons ratings

I am a bit unsure about the finale. I liked it a lot, it was badass, fun and interesting.. but I feel like the storyline in the last episode needed to be like 2 full episodes instead of one- keep in mind- 40 minute finale. If it would've been paced out longer, taken more time for itself to sink in- It could've been superb. I'm a bit confused on some things though for example, we see the full fleet leaving Nevarro but when they reached Mandalore a suprising amount of ships were missing; surely that was intentional no? I'm just a bit.. unsure.

Really loved this season finale, got a good bit of everything one could have wanted, and really hyped to see some golden season 1 Bounty Hunting! If they do plan on making a 4th season though.

They resolved the Mandalorian homeworld issue... that has nothing to do with the rest of the galaxy, it's threats, and Din and Din's adventures. I loved the way they did it.

Grogu acted like a real Jedi. That fire control, like a force shield, is a good comparison to what Kennan did for the Rebels... in that moment Kannan, basically convert to a Full Jedi Knight... I can be the same to Grogu??

Maybe these first 3 seasons were a prologue to set the stage to tell bigger din and grogu stories that can intersect with mainline movies

I would love a season or two telling the Armourer's tale, she seems to be filled with experience filled wisdom.

These 3 seasons felt like it all was for nothing, everything came back around full circle.

Nothing will be as epic in Star Wars as the ending of season 2

To me it really seems like the Rumors were true and that Kathelyn Kennedy put her grubby paws into the show forcing the return of Grogu in The Book of Boba Fett, derailing the planned narrative for the S3 season , which pissed off both Pedro Pascal and John Favreau, (Pedro mostly because they were trying to pay him voice actor salary due to him not being on set) who both threatened to quit. She then tried to shoehorn Bo Katan as the new series lead, leading to a season where Mando was a bystander in his own show. This culminated in a scene where Paz Visla, the character played by John Favreau, gets killed, followed by a somber credit scene kinda hinting at his possible exit from the franchise due to his creative differences , then we have a conclusion where Mando and Grogu basically settle off in a farm waiting for the Dave Filloni movie in like five years while Bo Katan basically inherits the show / the role of leader of mandalore / etc... So yeah I'm kinda pissed, what kind of ending is this for Grogu and Mando ? He deserved to be the ruler of Mandalore after inheriting the Darksaber and being our protagonist for so long . As for Gideon, any weight for his potential demise is made irrelevant by the fact he has clones. It's super unlikely he would keep all his eggs in the same basket , and there's at least one clone somewhere else that will show up and will probably have force powers, that is if he didn't survive the fire through a literal plot armor.

I definitely think lucasfilm put all their focus in the Ahsoka show and just didnt put too much emphasis on this season

I am reminded of so many other series' that really exploded after season 3; Star Trek is prime example of this; TNG, DS9, Voy., etc., all really became great series after their 3rd seasons. Save for the last season, GOT followed this model as well. So here is hoping that the Mandalorian follows suit.

I think this episode is the end of Din Djarin's time as the Mandalorian, that ending was basically the equivalent of a cowboy hanging up his revolver so that he can live a peaceful life.

Here's an odd thought. Does anybody else suspect that the titular character of the Mandalorian isn't Din Djarin? Maybe it has been Grogu all along? Let me put it another way. If I ask people to name a character from Tell Tale Games The Walking Dead, the first one that everyone responds with is Clementine. The story revolves around her, but she is only the protaganist in half the actual games. In season 1, the protagonist is Lee, who takes care of the young Clementine, until his eventual death. In season 2, Clementine becomes the protagonist. In season 3, Clementine is a supporting character to Javier Garcia, who is now the protagonist. In season 4, Clementine is once again the protagonist, but now she has come full circle and finds herself in Lee's position from season 1, having to care for and train an adopted child. In The Mandalorian season 1, Din Djarin finds and begins to look after Grogu. In The Mandalorian season 2, Din Djarin tries to return Grogu to his own people, the Jedi. In the Book of Boba Fett, Grogu elects to remain with Din Djarin. In The Mandalorain seaon 3, Grogu becomes a part of Mandalorian society, by becoming Din Djarin's adopted child. I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of season 4 that we see Grogu become a full member of Mandalorian society.

I don't see how you can say it wasn't epic. Din Grogu tossing guards, the ship crashing down, the force wall of the flames, the force connection with the Mythosaur. I would say the only disappointment was a clone subplot that really kinda never happened and went nowhere despite really demanding a lot of screen time over the series.

Season 4 will not be in trouble because there are plenty of fans and viewers, like me, who just enjoy seeing the story unfold as it was written. This is the way.

This was the perfect ending for Grogu n Din’s journey. They don’t need to bring them back for season 4 they’ve already said The Mandolorian is about the whole group, instead of what it was originally about. Din! Now in the rest of the seasons they can focus on other mandolorians and use din n grogu for special events. Hell season 4 could be focused on the planet n how Bo is returning the planet to prominence and the armorer could still be Thrawns spy, last episode’s name wasn’t a mess up there is still another spy out there. And if Gideon had 1 we all know Thrawn had 1 too.

I knew as soon as this episode was just ok and nothing spectacular that people were gonna hate it unnecessarily.

Crashing the spaceship into the enemy base was a straight lift from the Z'Ha'Dum episode at the end of season 3 of Babylon 5. Same as Moff meetings with the other leaders looked like the Minbari grey council meeting. Everyone in a circle looking at the person speaking in the middle.

I think Thrawn is going to play a very big role both to Ashoka and mandalorian S4 or I would say even in the mandoverse movie I know that John Favreau won't just make Thrawn a one time Villain he will make good use of him because he actually said once that he is one of his favorite characters in rebels

Great end to Star Wars phase 1. Din and Grogu live happily ever after (… okay, not ever after, maybe 2-3 years), everything is wrapped up, and now we can move forward with Ahsoka and Thrawn. The Mando era was dope. Can’t wait to see what comes next. Should be a great year for Star Wars.

Absolutely phenomenal episode and season. I dont understand why people didnt like it. A season full of Mandalorians is exactly what i was hoping for. I am glad they didnt bring in Thrawn or more Jedi. Keeping the scope small was a great choice.

Honestly if this is what we can expect going forward I'd almost prefer this to be the end of the series.

I was surprised how many people were upset with me about saying last week that no one was coming to help and that Moffs helmet had nothing to do with anything but it was a good episode I wish the whole season was as good as the last 2 episodes

This finale was só week.... is disapointing, no one dies, only de the empire troops, the good guys win without any problem and de bad guys never had any chance...

“Gideon is dead” - Unfortunately I’d recommend caution against saying that for certain. Knowing Disney, if they run out of ideas for future plots (which is common for them), it’s entirely likely we will see a scarred Gideon return. Maybe we will even see his body surgically rebuilt without a brain and have Grogu sitting in his chest cavity using him as new mech suit. Lmao.

I didnt want anything fancy for the finale. It went down exactly as i wanted it to. Everyone safe, big celebration, remembers me of the ROTJ ending. Just a classic hero movie's ending...
