Update: I just checked the metadata of the exported file, and the maximum quality it exports at in Windows 11 is 268kbps, it doesn't export at 320kbps as the program indicates. A bit disappointing... 🤦‍♂ (For windows 10 is 192kb/s and windows 11 is 268kb/s)🙄 *(Let's also avoid turning the comments into a contest of what's the worst thing about Davinci Resolve) 🤣

We can selected 320 kb/s on Windows 10, but the audio will not be encoded at 320 kb/s. I just found the thread about it on their forum : AAC Bitrate One of the Blackmagic Design mods said on the thread about the AAC Bitrate : *We use what options and APIs the OS enables. In this case, this API is specific to Windows 11.* For me it's really not a good approach on their part. It's like they only check which OS people are using, not its version. Oh, it's Windows = Export settings at 320 kb/s max. Maybe they shouldn't rely on the OS itself for these things in my opinion. Maybe you should talk about this issue in a future video?

That way, I can update the information in the pinned comment. It's a professional editing program, we should have been able to export good audio in mp4 for years... I never quite understood why it wasn't possible.😅

If not, just search "Aac bitrate" on the main Davinci Resolve forum. It's the first result, from May 2023. Comment form "Shrinivas Ramani", one of Blackmagic Design employees. And you're right, not being able to select any hight AAC bitrate is a shame for a professional software. Edit : well, my comment with the link disappeared 😅

Thanks for the info. No wonder the audio still sound equally bad even when 320kbps is selected. It's disappointing. Surprisingly if your audio is largely mono, if u select render as single channel, your audio will sound much better of course at the expense of being mono.

I would say the biggest weird thing is the lack of support for prores deliverables. Why? It’s industry standard and they even have it in fusion standalone!

It's a licensing issue and related to Apple. Since the ProRes format belongs to Apple, you won't be able to export ProRes in Windows programs. (It's not a Davinci Resolve issue) in Davinci Resolve on Mac, you can export in ProRes without a problem.

@@jonaseriksson2367 ProRes from Fusion on Windows? I don't believe that's possible. If you have a RU-vid video about it, I'll take a look. (Most likely, it's done through an external plugin used in Fusion or something similar.) Officially, exporting ProRes from Davinci Resolve on Windows is not supported.

I made a video showing prores export from fusion, It's in an unlisted video and I don't know if it's becouse of that, (that I link to the video) that my answers get's deleted. In menu on top, go to Davinci Resolve -> Preferences... (or ctrl + comma), select "User Tab" , in "UI Settings" (first one on left, should be selected by default), look at the last option "UI Display Scale". Unfortunately there is no 125%, but 150% is close enough. I personally use 200% for 4K monitor, with dual monitors setup.

It's clear you did not export the video. Yes, there is an option for 320kb/s but DaVinci still using windows codec. For windows 10 is 192kb/s and windows 11 is 256kb/s.

@@RicardoBorgo81 I usually export the video in an uncompressed format and then convert it to MP4 h264/h265 using the free program Handbrake. But it seems ridiculous to me that at this point, you can't export at least at 320kbps in Davinci Resolve. 🤦

My guess is human voice actor. "Bite" rate threw me off. Isn't it Bit? A computer wouldn't mispronounce Bit as Bite. Unless it actually is pronounced bite?!

Hey ! Need some help , When I am downloading effects from envato elements it's shows media offline I tried 100 different things nothing is working and it's not location of file causing problem it's ap4h format or something, please tell if u have any solution for the problem .Thank you

Personally, I cannot provide you with a solution. The templates I've used from Envato have worked well for me. Try getting in touch with the creator of the template you're attempting to use or contact Envato support. I can only suggest ensuring that all the files from Envato have been downloaded and relink the files in Davinci Resolve by doing a thorough search in the folder you downloaded from Envato.

Do this work in free version as i have da vinchi resolve 18.5. Also i want to ask that can i use dedicated GPU in free version for editing. I have run I think GPU is not supported in free version. Also i want to ask can my laptop handle 4k editing as i have i5 12500H & RTX 3050 4gb with DDR5 ram (4800MHz). I have started learning it. This is first time i am using a video editing software.

GPU is supported in the free version, but not for the decoding of media. That's why on some weak system, it's better to use proxies for editing with the free version.

one of the main problems of davinci resolve is the lack of customization of the panels, in any software you can move everything and assemble your interface as you prefer, almost every panel is fixed here. also it does not bring one of the basic points, the alignment panel 🔥

Nvidia usually has broader support across most software applications. This is a common trend, given that Nvidia has been the market leader for a long time. I can imagine that over time, AMD will receive more support.
