Interesting story along those lines... I first discovered The Rev in the early 10s. I lived in the Hartford area back then, and there was a radio station there at 106.9 WCCC. It's gone now, but it was a rock station covering mostly current rock and sometimes back into the 90s through the 70s, and occasionally the 60s. Every Friday afternoon, at 17:00, we got to hear an RHH song. It was the same song every Friday at 17:00 and sadly, it was the only RHH song they ever played. It was a fun little number, and very aptly timed, called "It's Martini Time". I don't remember how long they played it before, but it would have been several years. The last time it played would have been on Fri Jul 25, 2014. The next Wednesday, July 30th, it was announced that the station, or at least the station as we knew it, was being sold and would cease to exist on Friday August 1, 2014 at 17:00. Starting at noon on the 1st, One of the DJs did a five hour long goodbye with the talent, interns, management, the entire staff really, even past employees were invited in or to call in, and many, many did. That Friday at 17:00 was the only time in the last several years of the station's existence that It's Martini Time didn't air. From 12:00 to 17:00 there were no commercials and no music played, save for one song at the very end, Walk by Pantera. Other than that, the only other thing they did was the FCC required hourly station identification. When the song ended, there was nothing else. It was timed perfectly to play its normal fade out to end at precisely 17:00:00. There was dead air for several minutes. No one knew what would be taking its place. No one at the station even knew about it being sold, or that they would no longer have jobs, until two days before the end. A few minutes after the song ended, the K-LOVE syndication came on, playing modern religious pop music, so basically, Connecticut lost a radio station. Fun fact about the station, WCCC was one of the earliest stations that Howard Stern worked for, back when he was on terrestrial radio. That would have been in the very late 70s to early 80s. I don't know how long he was there though, but the station picked up his show again in the mid 90s and aired it in syndication until the mid 00s when he started doing his show on satellite radio.
RHH is a American treasure. Not only super talented guys, but awesome to their fans. We love you! Can we get a full instrumental album someday? Please!!!!

Uhh, you got the first line in the second verse wrong. "Two Martinis at lunch with the boss" is what a sober brain would say. The line, as told from a drunk brain, and the correct line in the song is actually: "Tee Martoonis at bunch with the loss"

just saw him last week. classic Hetfield facial hair on Rev would make him look similar. But, he looks like Peyton wayyyyyyy more in person and that definitely ain't no insult. Fact: Reverend digs Louisiana style piano keys i.e jerry lee and company and i think the Manning bunch grew up in Louisiana too. Great show, great artist, great stories he shares live.
