Panties hit him in the shoulder @ 4:50!! My dad said "forget about the guitar and focus on getting your degree". 30 years working at my desk and no one has yet to fling panties at me!
Joe Walsh is the quintessential example that you don’t have to sing like Robert Plant, shred like Hendrix, or be perfectly stylized like Axel Rose. Just play from the heart, sing with attitude and be real- being a Rock n’ Roll beast is only a state of mind. This guy is the blueprint!
ummm, he’s actually a very accomplished musician. whether or not his voice is plant or his playing is hendrix (i think i understand what you’re trying to convey), joe walsh is an extremely talented artist and there aren’t really that many out there of his caliber.
Well said brother...with out the soul feeling joy and fun ✨ especially in a song like this one there wouldn't be much life and entertainment at the show.....
My husband put this song on his list of tunes I was to play at his funeral...been three years now since he left...I play this now to bring him back..it works every time...
Song is a mix of reggae, rock, and country music. I first heard this song around 1978 when I was in high school. I didn't understand why I liked it so much back then. Jump forward 45 years and I can say it was this mix that so many other artist didn't put together. This right here is art.
Anyone who can play this good and sound great while being stoned out of their mind has to be an extremely talented performer. The Professor Walsh is definitely one talented performer. If you look into his eyes on a couple of those close ups you can tell he is jacked up pretty good! I watched an interview where he talked about the time he eventually got sober. He said he just got to the point where he couldnt do it anymore, he was basically wore out. So he decided it was time to clean his act up. He definitely did a great job getting sober and still keeping his sense of humor. You gotta love his sense of humor. There aren't many like him and that's ok! Joe is unique and I think we would all agree we like him the way he is. Someone else acting like Joe just wouldn't seem right. Rock on Joe!!!
@@whocares3591 Oh yeah, your right!! That's totally true! Dr Hook always seemed totally stoned. I was watching a video where they all had that same look like Joe. Plus the extreme amount of sweating. Sure one could argue it's due to the lighting, and playing, but I suspect the added fact of being stoned helped it along a bit. Plus their song "Cover of the Rolling Stone", they pretty much admitted to "taking all kinds of pills, that give us all kind of thrills". They were able to get clean as well, and live to be quite old. Some of them are still alive. I think Ray Sawyer died at 81.
@@charlesdoyle3630 He was working the rails for Southern Pacific in New Mexico & called my Mom in San Francisco (they were just dating) and said "I just heard this new singer at a small club and he`s gonna be famous". It turned out to be Elvis and I grew up with all his records.

Saw Joe live at Kent State University Gymnasium / Auditorium around 1975 or so. After he played he wandered around the bar district talking to the crowds. Joe's coool!
Gary McMichael more of a feeling in the moment. I never play songs exactly like the original and alot of the time i let the vibe carry me away, and it brings out different ideas.
No joke! I joked around with my husband that he was sweating out vodka, coke, and bad decisions, but he doesn't miss a note. Totally a true icon and musical STAR! ⭐⭐⭐ The mid/late (67ish) 60's to the start of the 80's were hands down the best era for music. Not just rock either. Motown was awesome, country had actual story lyrics, the whole psychedelic rock/hippie style, and SO many awesome rock artists.
In 92 or 93 he played with 38 Special and Naval Air Station Pensacola, the dude was absolutely loaded up there on the stage until someone put a microphone in his hand, then it was fucking on. Did not disappoint.
Joe doesn't get the credit he deserves. God knows he pissed a lot of credibility away during the darkest days of addiction. But he is a major heavyweight in the world of rock. Hell, he added danger, humor and RAWK to the Eagles. No easy task.
SRV is a totally different type of guitarist. So is joe Walsh. They are both so entertaining but to me joe is more entertaining. But damn do i love some Stevie Ray Vaughan
@@tatethompson1234 you can't compare SRV and Walsh anymore than you could legitimately compare James Hetfield with Alan Jackson cause the both play a guitar.
It makes me want to turn it up and laugh every time it comes on! The lyrics and music are so brilliant! It NEVER ever gets old, just like Joe Walsh never gets old!
I cant imagine trying to keep up with Joe back in the day, hes lucky to be alive and rocking still. He puts on a killer show to this day. Ya cant have a bad time listening to Joe. ;-)
Underrated? I don't think so. He's globally renowned as a top-tier guitarist as he should be, and mega multi-millionaire with millions and millions of albums sold with the "Eagles", sold out stadium tours, and his solo career.
man look to all the haters nobody is forcing you folks to listen and frankly we don't care what you have to say we lived this music and it has memories of things that happened in our lives so go in peace we could give two shits about what you think
I just wish older people would do the same with people growing up to the music today as well. Even if it's not up to the standard as this wonderful band or music, it's hard to tell people not to listen to something that is happening as they get older. This in fact, was everywhere. Joe Walsh, The Eagles. Music is music it connects people.
I remember my sister telling me Joe had joined the Eagles right before the Eagles came to my city for the Hotel California tour, I was 12, but I remember it so well. She took me to see the Eagles with Joe and it is one of the greatest times of my life. Thank you Joe and Donna!
This is my all time favorite song. Love the Beatles, Stones, Walsh, Hendrix , you name em' I love em', but whenever I hear this song. I always stop, turn it up and sing along. Absolutely Great F!@#$%^& Song. " I can't complain, but sometimes I still do" Absolutely Great Line !
I have fallen in love with Joe Walsh's music. His talent is off the charts! I knew his songs but one night I watched the "Hell Freezes Over" concert on AXS. I was mesmerized when he played his music. He is amazing with the guitar. Much like BB King his guitar is like a part of his soul. Glad he is sober! I know the life of living and loving an alcoholic and what they go through. My alcoholic did not make it. He would have dug Joe's music....💜
Love this song I heard it on our road trip to the beach this past week I use to listen to all the oldies with my grandpa growing up I hadn’t heard it in such a long time love it
He is AWESOME! My dad got me hooked on him a LONG time ago. I used to sing this along with a doctor I used to work with. Joe Walsh was the opening act for Tom Petty in Kansas City Missouri in 2017!
When I was in middle school in the early 90's this song came on 1 day and every kid I grew up with on the school bus sang along to this song! The Big CHEESE how I hated the school bus!!
