Yay! At the beginning when you went for the rusty wing, I was thinking of the Euphoria-esque vibe you have described. Also, forever grateful that you say things like “I liked my face better before the makeup”, etc.
I've been enjoying gunky angry eyes as well. I woke up today and was like: I'm going to be very light and summery with almost bare skin, nude lips, natural blush and a pastel eye...*20 minutes later*... the angry eyes are back after doing what I thought was a minimal wing that just kept getting bigger and angrier.
I had the same thought process today... "just a little concealer on the lids, a touch of liner" (Smashcut to me touching the pencil to my eye and becoming a literal, actual racoon/pikachu hybrid) 🤡🥰
you entirely succeeded at a "fresh faced, but statement" look. beyonf stunning how the colour of the liner matches the shirt and the gloss is stunning with it
I am currently making a lot less money right now, so shopping my stash has been a good way to get those excited feelings. I've even taken a page from you, and have been building dream palettes with my singles. Recently, I dug out the Jungle Lights palette, and it's given me so much joy.
GIRL YES!! This is one of my favorite makeup looks I've ever seen you do. 👌🏻 It's fierce as hell, but still completely casual and fun. I really love how it looks on you, and it was super fun to see you feature something a little different. I hope you enjoyed wearing it as much as we enjoyed watching you apply it! xo 💜🌻🦋✨
Hannah , the kind of makeup vibe you described at the end is literally whAt I try to do everyday! It makes me so happy :) I’m not much of a no makeup makeup person. But I also don’t like the feeling of heavy makeup. And I love the artistry of makeup. We need a name ! “Artistry forward makeup” “expressive yet light makeup” hmmmm??!!
OBSESSED with this look!! I'd also be curious to know if you've ever heard of puppy eyeliner. It's a downturned wing that works better on hooded eyes because it follows the line of your top eyelid so it doesn't do the weird curve thing that a regular wing does. I have hooded eyes as well and it used to be my go-to when I used to wear makeup.
I've been loving the more frequently uploaded videos, Hannah & Joe! I love listening to the way you speak and describe your ideas --so eloquent and poetic. I find you relatable and real and I love how my perspectives grow when listening to you. I've been actively culling the content I ingest based on the '5 people/content you surround yourself with' principle as I've noticed I feel best when there's an element of intellectual expansion, and | never feel good about myself/appearance when I watch individuals with Veneers, lip fillers, Botox, etc. as that's not a natural attainability or a relatable state for me. HLP & GhostTown Living are a couple of my fav channel's recently.
We love a real skin look! I usually never use powder but it's been so hot here that I've been having to use it recently, and I'm always a bit sad that it makes my skin look too "filtered." On the plus side, the heat also makes me not want to use foundation so I've just been going in with some concealer for my base and I 'm loving it!
Really glad I found your channel. Got here looking for reviews and now I’m staying for the conscientious self talk, realistic and healthy no-buy encouragement, poetry recs etc. My buying habits look different than yours and focus in different areas, but it’s the same in the escapism that has ultimately lowered the quality of my life. You inspired me to shop my stash the past day and I found some treasures, a few I hadn’t even opened that we just sitting there for 10 years and some other things that I didn’t need to hold onto. I also realized I had bought some things twice just because I couldn’t find them. Really great experience. I feel lighter and more intentional already.
Winged liner HLP is what I didn't know I needed to see before going to bed. You look STUNNING😍 I'm doing that tommorow when I get ready for work to channel your vibes!
I love the wings! My favorite tip for wings is to take a soft, small, angled brush and a similar colored eyeshadow. Then, run the eyeshadow very thinly right over the top edge of the wing to soften the edges and diffuse any imperfections
You inspired me to go look in the back of my palette drawer and I pulled out the Norvina palette. I can`t remember the last time I used it. I forgot how pretty it was and how much I enjoyed using it. I used it today and made a pretty look. Thank you
The rusty colored wing with the way your lashes look in the video are almost giving me 60s vibes? But I LOVE it and now I want to try it on my hooded eyes haha
I’d love to see a video of shop my stash maybe creating an editorial look or just playing around using products as they weren’t intended...like a lipstick as blush a bronzer or highlighter as eyeshadow, a shadow as highlighter or brow color but done in a funky way. I think you’d nail it ;) I always watch your videos and think yes I love that- I do that or I want to be doing that lol thank you for another lovely video!
I agree that your eye look is very different than your normal style, it's very modern gen z euphoria vibes and i'm here for this exploration!~~~~~ i love this lewk
I have hooded eyes too and gave up on eyeliner a long time ago with it comes to anything but my waterline. Hannah, you are way better than me and even though you can see it a little uneven, you still put it on better than I probably could if I tried.
I find the way your eyeliner matches your outfit to be very pleasing and yet I never would have thought of using an eyeliner of that color. So bold yet so elegant. Lovely!
Ok commenting in the midst of the video - have you tried the "bat wing" liner technique, i have realllyy hooded eyes and omg that technique has changed how eyeliner looks on me, you just look straight ahead while doing your wing and voila no droop n swoosh wings! It'll look exactly how eyeliner looks on people without hooded eyes when you look straight ahead, but when you blink there it is that badass shape! It really fits in when i do grungy looks!
I've been doing a matte lid with glitter popped on the inner corners lately with varying degrees of liner depending on how much rage needs to be expressed and man-- those Danessa Myricks chromeflakes have been IT. You might have my witch brew ingredients so I thought I'd mention it as well: glow recipe serum/moisturizer, tatcha dewy skin cream, milk hydrogrip, glossier futuredew, auric glowlust, Danessa's illuminating veil, topped with colourpop hydrating setting mist. It seems excessive but I work 8+ hours sometimes so I set myself up to look sweaty and factually wet for as long as possible lmao
yes!! i’ve been loving letting my skin look like skin lately too. over the months it has helped me be more accepting of what I really look like as someone with difficult skin. I love the color of your top and eyeliner, the combo was perfect! and I can’t wait to see how your custom palette looks in use
I love your video signoff “so you can be the most effective version of yourself as you do your work in the world” it’s a good reminder to be your best authentic self and I love that!
when you first put on that initial mark of eyeliner and then did the other eye (before you even "completed" the wing) I was like this is so fun/creative/Euphoria makeup! one could even say... editorial
I had the same Dior highlighter palette, and the peachy one in the lower left-hand corner is, imo, what makes the palette. It gives a perfect subtle, natural looking glow. The two glittery shades, though, I reserved for only using on my eyes because I found them a bit difficult and glittery on the cheeks. That’s unfortunately why I ended up decluttering it. I have so many brown and glittery eyeshadows that the other three shades would never have been used, which is truly unfortunate because that peachy highlighter is everything!!
I just love the impact of this very different look for you! And I don't see the difference between them just because as you recently said, tou are speaking and doing expressions with your face and you're animated and our faces are not symmetrical anyway!
That cateye is fierce! I'm going to a concert tonight and you've inspired me to go hard with an extreme cateye! Especially since I'll be wearing a mask, it feels appropriate! Gorgeous look!
Could you still do a look with the Pat palette? You have a very similar makeup style to me and I'd love to see your take (beyond just the look you did in your review)
Hi Hannah, I showed my husband your iambic pentameter video today and he was impressed 😀. Off topic, but I'm a very fair olive skin tone, almost as fair as you. Most bronzers pull way too pink on me and look very much like a blush. This might sound really weird, but I found my perfect bronzer in MAC eyeshadow sumptuous olive - if I apply it really lightly the green blends away completely and leaves only a slightly green-toned bronze colour that looks completely natural on my skin.
@@mizshellytee oh no!! I've had that eyeshadow a while and only just started using as bronzer. I'm back on the hunt for an actual green bronzer it seems and I'll check out the shadow you recommended :)
😍😱 forgot beautube, those wings and that halter top- I went straight into a BnW shot of my Nouvelle Vague movie, with you chain smoking in a library delivering one short dialogue ….a minute, as you stare out to the sea…
Even before you started discussing your lip product options I thought a tinted lip balm or gloss the same color as that russet eyeliner would be bomb. 😏 I find the biggest challenge with winged or any graphic type of liner look on my hooded eyes is how I must raise my eye brows/tilt my head to get a smoother surface to work on but then as soon as I relax my brows & look straight ahead, the liner is no longer in the esthetically pleasing position I thought it was--it has dropped. And don't get me started on how not symmetrically angled my eyes/brows are compared to one another. They might as well be different eyes belonging to 2 different people lol. So I usually get one good wing & that's it. It's just not for me. I think makeup photographs really well but I almost always prefer how I look with less when it comes to "real life." The only exception is when my rosacea is bad but foundation doesn't really make my skin "look better" just less inflamed in photos. Foundation does nothing to help texture, it actually accentuates it in my experience as does powder after a certain age. I feel like once I hit my 50s I was Goldilocks in search of the perfect finish/texture--not too matte but not too shiny, good coverage but still looks skin-like (someone else's preferably, who has small undetectable pores & no broken capillaries )
Ah! Random question about the bronzer-I could have SWORN that in the past you've called it a highlighter and laughed about how you're using highlighter to contour/darken your neck. Is this a different product?
it's a different product! this one is actually marketed as a bronzer but I use it as a blush...and the other one is marketed as a highlighter but I use it as a bronzer LOL
