We need to see a version of this concept (mostly) the other way around. So Joe obscures the make up branding details and you name and review it in a blind taste testing style.
This is all I want from beauty RU-vidrs. Have someone intercept PR and obscure the branding so the reviews are as distanced from the brand associations and packaging aesthetics as possible!

I feel like Joe really hit something gold there for me with "Obscura Blasé Mascara" branding, very au courant with the natural-looking makeup trend -- Now I'm fantasy-planning the entire line of "makeup for the casually indifferent", and its offshoot launch "skincare for the causally indifferent".
GOD I love when Joe involves himself. Shoutout to Joe Louise Poston, his humor is such a treat and has brought me joy today. Obscura Blasé is an actual stroke of genius.

Despite having minimal encounters with Joe in your videos, it's so apparent to me why you are together. Like couples who've been together for a long time usually adopt similar senses of humor and language and this video really showcased that in you two. I'm so inspired by both of your creativity.

I think Joe's contributions to your channel are hilarious and adorable. As soon as I saw the title, I knew we were in for a treat, and it did not disappoint! I would not be upset at all if this became a monthly thing for your channel. In fact, I'd be quite the opposite of upset, it would be delightful!

I love the black paper tape esthetic too. It’s a great way to upcycle beauty jars or just reduce visual clutter on the vanity for some palettes. On amber glass bottles it’s a win.
What I take from this video is that I am really interested in Gen-Zee (spelling???) and that we need more videos where we cover the branding and just test products by the actual formula. I would love to see you & Kackie exchange depotted formulas and have eachother test them.
when i tell you how excited i was to see Joe’s name in the title! i loved all of this, what a delight 💜 a thousand times yes to future Joe involvement, and also maybe some more experiments in debranding (as others have suggested, perhaps one where Joe debrands PR you’ve been sent or products he picks up in Sephora?) 💗
Just an idea here, but i wonder if, when your pr comes in, you don't look at it, joe opens it all, covers up the brand names and any indication of who it is.....then you try it in a video and see if you cam figure out whose brand it is. I think it sounds interesting and fun.

I've been thinking a lot about this video, and how you artfully demonstrated how much branding affects what we buy and how we feel about it. I adore the idea of writing our own stories around the colors we choose, creating our own branding to transform the mundane into something to be coveted. Also, now whenever I put on mascara, I say to myself: "obscura blasé, for the casually indifferent" and it's magic. Thank you, Joe.

Not sure if it is great minds think alike, I immediately picked up on F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Great Gatsby vibe of Joe's marketing. What a terrific "exercise" with regards to how the packaging and marketing makes us feel as consumers.

I would love to see this again sometime. This was so interesting and fun to watch. Props to Joe for the creative ideas. It definitely does make you think twice about marketing and whether it's a thing you really want, or if you're falling for this perceived fantasy that the product promises to grant you.
