Joe (my husband) and I are exactly the same way.. we do everything ourselves.. when we renovated our victorian house in Knoxville we gutted the whole place out.. hung the drywall ourselves ran the whole house with new electricity put in the plumbing.. ..joe even framed in our shower wall by the tub.. the thing is, you bond with your house so much when you do things yourselves.. plus we saved a ton of money PLUS the no headaches from idiot people that didn't know what they were doing lol..Joe likes doing even his car things his own without help from mechanics.. I'm so glad you guys found your dream home and i hope you have many many years of joy and happiness in it.. love you guysxoxo

It's crazy how I don't know you in "real life", but I feel like something fantastic just happened to a good friend, and I wish I could hug your necks and be excited there with you. (just like when you got the TV show) You guys have patiently gone through the trials and finally it's all the paid. Laura, we just bought our new house this month too and we spent two weeks just refinishing the old hardwood floors that were under the carpet. Haven't even gotten a chance to paint and all while trying to get our stuff in and three kids! You can do it,.it's just going to take one day at a time! Tip: when you guys enter the house and you are finally ready to move in, remember to say positive things and bring positive thoughts as you enter your new home, establish things you want to accomplish in that new house such as write a book or maybe have a baby haha but yea I find that very helpful because you are the most powerful source of positive energy in your own life ( except for avid of course he's always the #1) if you're religious I also recommend to sprinkle some holy water around the house and around the rooms etc :)

It is official and it's yours! I have never bought a house but I know that even though things take time, the end result is worth it! Once you get all of your stuff moved and the new house decorated and everything done with your old house you will feel so much better! Don't let things get to you too much and just remember to breathe! No worries about not having time as we all understand that you do have an actual life with actual demands! :)
