It's Probably Time to Sell on The Oklahoma Sooners 

Our evaluation has less to do with what Oklahoma is and more with what the SEC is. There's a lot of tough games on the schedule and breaking in a new qb behind a question of an OL is tough. The SEC office screwed OU with the schedule this year, they play 6 of the top teams in the conference.

They don’t even know about our secondary and safeties. We can’t cover the 2nd coming of Megatron in Luther Burden.

We certainly haven't followed OU at a granular level (impossible to do for all of college football when we all have full time jobs) but we do keep up with the info. I think OU will transition and eventually be a power program in the SEC. The issue is truly just this year, breaking in a new QB against a BRUTAL schedule. Vegas has the o/u at 7.5, so we're definitely not crazy. That also shouldn't just be ok for sooners fans. Y'all should 100% expect more than a 6-8 win season. Just might be a hard year 1. With that said, I appreciate the comment. Nice to actually talk instead of just field pure hate comments. We're truly not trying to be clickbait or trolls, but a lot of fan bases can't handle unbiased college football fans not thinking that their team is the greatest thing ever. @@ThreeTechPod Thanks for the response! I appreciate what you guys are trying to do here and didn't want to just shit all over you because you didn't say what I wanted to hear lol. You do make some good points. But I think in the long run this brutal schedule will be a positive for the program. OU's main problem last year was losing focus because they were bored. Neither Kansas or Oklahoma State should have been in a position to win those games. If OU can't maintain their focus this year we might see 6-6. I think that is unlikely but it's certainly a possibility. OU really is a wildcard this year and I can't wait until we can stop speculating and see how they actually do.

I think you're absolutely right about this ultimately being a good thing for the sooners. And hey, maybe a little early blood in their mouth gets their attention and then they get pissed off and beat up the back half of that schedule. It will be fun to see what they can do, and we'll be pumped to buy up sooner stock if we see them start to really thrive!

Would love to eat crow if we're wrong haha All that said, I know that most fanbases are mostly just great fans who love their team and don't feel the need to interject like this. But there's always a vocal minority that do with anyone. This certainly isn't our first rodeo with a "negative" video getting a bunch of hate. We did it with Colorado last offseason and their fans were 10x worse than anyone in this comment section. Looking forward to this season, and if the sooners can surprise us!

@@ThreeTechPod Yeah, the vocal minority can often seem like the majority online. It's unfortunate when a whole fanbase generally gets painted by the examples of their worst fruits. Lol Yeah, those Colorado fans were on high alert last year. Though I think you could probably argue that a decent portion of them online were primarily Deion fans. OU and Colorado/Deion fans had a brief online clash last year when Venables simply mentioned Deion as a contrasting examples to how he was approaching things. They tried to twist his words into meaning all sorts of nonsense.

You must be new here, because we're definitely not SEC homers. OU will be really good in the SEC in the future, but don't pretend the schedule isn't brutal. Winning a bunch of games against Iowa state, Kansas, and Baylor is just not the same thing as playing an SEC schedule, and unfortunately for the sooners they pulled a brutal schedule in year one

SEC has had 9 teams last 2 seasons with double digit wins at end of season.

1. Definitely no SEC bias here 2. You've either gotta be joking or delusional to think that the combo of LSU, Ole Miss, Mizzou, and Tennessee are mediocre. Yes, texas and ou will compete in this conference moving forward, but come on

Hell more than three of the P5 conferences combined. More than the big, lil xii and entire left coast. Play with them sure. You both will take some lumps. @@stevenharris2251 Since beginning of BCS these SEC schools have won multiple titles bama (beaucoup), LSU (3), FL (2) and uga (2). These have won 1 title TN and auburn. That's 4 with multi and 2 with one each. SIX different schools in last 25 years. That goes to overall depth and potential of the SEC. NO other conference can touch the overall depth of SEC. If LSU isn't dominant anymore what does that say about ou and texass? Been a minute since either have played for a title much less won one. Last time LSU played both of them tigers came out on top. TWO in a row vs the sooners.
