I kept thinking the plot involves Shedder having amnesia, but I never would’ve guess it’s one of those “a character thinks they’re another character” plot.
Umm, actually It didn't body swap, for not make context about the episode, basically Shredder was thinking a plan to infiltrate the turtle's lair and that plan was.. Make an hologram of one of the turtles and one of them was Mike. But one of Shredder's allies is so dumb he kinda of mess up the machine, an láser shoot to Shredder and makes Shredder thinks he's Mikey.
Full context: The Shredder had devised a plan to use holograms to invade the Turtles lair and take them down. He had a file folder that contained everything he had learned about Michelangelo but the machine accidentally zap the info directly into shredder's head causing Shredder's true personality to become suppressed and overtaken by Mikey's. Because of this, "Mikey" shredder went right on home to the lair and walked in and this moment happens. Splinter ends up hypnotizing Shredder so that every time he hears "Shredder" he takes on his true mind and every time he hears "Michelangelo" he takes on Mikey's. TL;DR a machine accidentally makes Shredder think he is Michelangelo with all the knowledge Mikey has
And never ever say the enemy of The Turtles. Instead, refer to him as You-Know-Who. This goes to everyone; one mention of You-Know-Who's name will change him back to his former self.
This is the kind of answered question that only begs more questions. Why does Shredder think he's Michelangelo? How did he find the Turtles secret home? Why are the Turtles so non-chalant about Shredder walking into their secret home?
This is one of the few episodes I've seen so here are the answers. 1. Shredder thinks he's Mikey because he had a hologram device that made a virtual clone of Mikey which he intended to use to trick the turtles. Beepbop and Rocksteady messed it up. The machine messes up and a laser hit Shredder in the head somehow putting all that data in his head convincing him he was Mikey. 2. This is actually one of the first questions Splinter asks. Shredder found the secret home because he thought he lived there. The hologram had all the data they knew about Mikey (which does suggest that he really does know where they live, but that's glossed over), so "Mikey" was just heading home. 3. It's a cartoon. There is really no good answer for this.
1. In the episode, Shredder was planning to project a hologram copy of Michelangelo to hopefully trick the turtles into leading him to their lair. However his two sidekicks, Bepop and Rocksteady, messed up the preparations and shot the device at Shredder, causing him to act as Michelangelo. Bonus explanation : This episode was a weird hypnosis episode. They were able to switch Shredder back and forth personas by hypnotizing him. Ofc, they try to avoid this as much as possible while they try to figure out a way to reverse all of this. 2. No clear answer other than he thinks he's Michelangelo. Therefore, he knows where their lair is. As a matter of fact, he knows where Michelangelo's secret pizza spot for when he's upset and goes there himself. 3. Cartoon logic I suppose. They do freak out in their own way, albeit more calmly than expected. But the real Michelangelo was justifiably more upset with Shredder claiming to be Michelangelo/him, causing him to run away from home briefly because he keeps stealing his gist. So the episode is half trying to get Shredder back and half trying to find Michelangelo.
For those who didn't grow up in the 80s and 90s, the episode is called "Cowabunga Shreadhead". Shredder was creating a hologram to sneak into the turtle's home and destroy the them. It backfired due to Bebop and Rocksteady screwing things up and Shredder got hit by a beam that loaded Michelangelo's mind into Shredder's. A lot of the TMNT cartoon seems like a fever dream from decades past but they are rather entertaining.
A machine that was supposed to make a hologram of mikey was being used to try and take the turtles down though bebop and rocksteady messed it up causing a laser to hit shredder in the head and uploading everything they knew about Mikey into his head
Leo: Hey guys look its the real Michaelangelo! Shredder: You are mocking me arent you? Leo: Oh no no, Mike look its Shredder Shredder: Where! Leo: *dies of laughter*
I love that the actor for Shredder is the same one who played Uncle Phil on Fresh Prince. Just imagining him walking in during an episode like "lets get down and pig out"😂
@@dogedoge8269Shredder's plan was to practice using a hologram machine to make a visual image of Mikey to see if it works and to devise a plan to defeat them. However, Bebop puts in the disc containing the information about Mikey backwards and screwed up the machine, shooting a laser that hits Shredder's head. He wakes up and believes to be Mikey and shortly after the scene, Splinter uses a hypnosis trick on him that will convert him to Shredder if someone says "Shredder" and if someone says Mikey's name, he'll become Mikey again. Shredder and Krang's plan was to use the machine to become the President of the United States and Vice President to rule America, but the plan was ultimately foiled when the turtles tricked Shredder into destroying the machine and curing Shredder from his situation.
It would've been even funnier if this was just normal Shredder playing up the bit to get close to the Turtles. Honestly aside from his pride getting hit it's a genius plan.
I’ll try and find out I can’t remember the episode but I loved watching the teenage mutant ninja turtles growing up I watched the newer ones mostly and owned action figures of them
The real context: the reason of Mike’s behavior: splinter hypnotized him to stop eating all their pizza. The reason of shredder’s behavior: when trying to make a Mikey hologram clone, after inserting the memory card to make him act like Mikey but something went wrong and zapped a laser to shredder making him think he is Mike
Ever since Mutant Mayhem was introduced to theaters, old and new TMNT fans have risen and have begun to revive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as one of the best franchises of all time.
I remember watching this, I couldn't remember the exact context, but I did remembered someone switching bodies or consciousness or somethin' like that, so close enough I'd say.
Here's some additional context. Master Splinter was trying to break Michelangelo of his obsession with pizza, and used a form of hypnosis to make him crave pizza no more. Meanwhile Shredder has some sort of accident that makes him think he was Michelangelo. I don't recall exactly how it was applied to Shredder as it's been a while since I saw the episode, but at this point the Turtles and Splinter are unaware that Shredder has a changed persona. So it's not exactly that they switched bodies, but that Shredders is more or less brainwashed into believing he is Michelangelo. Shortly after this, Splinter uses the same hypnosis he used on Michelangelo to return Shredder to normal in hopes of getting answers as to what happened, but Shredder does not co-operate and refuses to answer their questions, prompting Splinter to hypnotize Shredder back into believing he is Michelangelo. From here, the episode carries on with Shredder thinking his is Michelangelo as the turtles go off in search of answers. Naturally, by the end of the episode, everyone is returned to normal, and Michelangelo's obsession with pizza is restored too.
It is the shredder the machine that was using info they knew about Mikey to make a hologram to try and take down the turtles ended up getting messed up by bebop and rocksteady causing a laser to hit shredder convincing him that he is Mikey
The Original 80s Turtles cartoon from 87 to 93 is so hilarious at times until they went into a serious darker tone in the final Red Sky seasons in 94-96
i accidentaly watched the actual episode online and i thought youtube was just recommending me clips before that because i had watched it but then started to come more recent uploads
I thought that he is carrying not pizza but a stack of paper (documents idk) and wanted to shred them in "paper shredder" and when turtle said it is shedder, he is trying to find where he can shred paper.
Can anyone point me to the name of the song that plays during this scene? It's just so goofy and retro, I love it and would like to just have it to put on in the background.
I really wished that the 2003 show recreated this scene. If you know anything about those early TMNT flash animated shorts that 4kids used to do in the shows earlier run you'd know exactly what I am talking about
From the episode, *Cowabunga, Shredhead* Shredder attempts to create a Michelangelo hologram via a mysterious device. This device could only work with the insertion of a floppy disc. Bebop and Rocksteady screw up (as usual) and the device shoots beams across the room; one of them hitting Shredder. This leads him into thinking he’s Michelangelo, leading into one of the year’s most memorable and unexpected memes.
He probably fried his brain when the foot ninja or the hench dudes tried to restore him back to normal after he accidentally turned himself into a toddler. 😆. I just gotta know how he really ordered pizza in his get up and the general public didnt care. Mikey would have thougth to wear the big overcoat and hed know that if he swore he was mikey.
I know it's hella late, but seeing a situation where the Turtles actually had to work with Shredder would be cool. Maybe some new threat arises that affects both the Turtles *and* Shredder along with his team? (I forgot the name, forgive me)
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
