As soon as caitin said Sizzlers ... I still remember the day i went to deliver the swiss rolls with pink cream ( i owned a bakery) and they were already 3 months behind in payments. You used to have to put the stock in a dumb waiter to get it to restaraunt level.. and of course when you get there where is the waiter ?? at the top climb 4 sets of stairs from carpark to restaurant level press the down button go down all the stairs open door ...... 15 doz oysters !!!! 🤔🤔🤔 Remove oysters insert swiss rolls ..... PAID IN FULL 😎👍 Possibly 28-30 years ago .... Just part of doin business

I grew up with a Sizzler restaurant that we would go to if we were out in the area, it was roughly 1.5-2hrs drive from where we live. It was great as it had a bit of everything so fussy eaters could always find something to eat.

Fav places to eat... Shakey's Pizza! I can still, at 62, get full on mouth-watering hangry for their chicken and mojos (they were potatoes cut into simple thick and yummy slices and fried in oil) they fried their chicken in a large pressure fryer! It was so moist and delicious. As a kid, we would go maybe once a month and my parents would have pizza and I would get the chicken! They would let me have some of their pizza, too! I loved the food and the music, too! They had a piano player and banjo picker on the weekends! They played old standards and fun newer songs (60s to early 70s) and had the words on the screen with a bouncing ball that landed over the word when it was time to sing that word. It was a fun way to learn to read, as a little girl! Myers' Fried chicken... a locally owned restaurant, in Amarillo, Tx. Their chicken was good and children got a chicken leg in a thick paper boat (it was shaped like a boat and had the image of a boat on the outside of the paper) with mashed potatoes and yellow gravy and green beans. I would love their recipe for that delicious yellow gravy! They had a train track that was hung from the ceiling and a train with the engine, several train cars and a caboose at the end (of course) that travelled around the dining rooms (there were several) and it came around about every 5 minutes. (It was a large restaurant!) Those were the days!!! A little later, we got a restaurant called Alfie's Fish and Chips. My daddy loved to go there and so did I. He was born and raised in the Shenendoah Valley in Virginia. Amarillo, Tx was not known for a wide variety of fresh fish! Haha!!! Daddy said it was the best fish he had eaten since they were in San Antonio during WWII. That is where he and my mother met. She worked at the draft board and he was a 1st Sargeant in the Army Air Corp. My mother was from the Texas panhandle and moved back to stay with her family after my daddy was sent off to India. Now, see what a long line of love you started with that question about food?❤️😋 It does have a magical way of triggering good memories! Thanks for that! Western Sizzler (original name then shortened to Sizzler) gets honorable mention. Occasionally when I spent the night with my best friend, her parents would take us there after church on Sunday! It wasn't the best steak (that honor was and will always go to my daddy!) but it was good and a nice place to enjoy "fancy" dining (for this pre-teen to early teenage girl, anyway) Love your channels and will mention Back of the House on the video I watched yesterday. Sorry about the dog incident. Pets are the best and bring so much joy. They do come with their own special idiosyncrasies. Gotta take a little bad with all the good! My little boy was a rescue. He's a whopping 10 lb pommeranian and he loves me. He is a good boy but I truly am his emotional support human. He has seizures occasionally. (He had one last night, in fact) and he sticks to me, like glue. He absolutely barks when I go off and leave him, for a long time before giving up and laying by the door until I return. I would take him with me more places but ppl want to pet him and he wouldn't hurt them but he doesn't like them. He only has eyes for me! He won't even do anything for my husband! He loves him and will enjoy a pet from him but he just loves me and only me!❤️🤣 They aren't with us for long. Every minute spent in anger towards them is a minute lost in their short lifetimes. I try to remember that when the occasional oopsie happens. Okay, I've finished my book, now! Blessings from the Texas panhandle!😘

Wine would cost me around 30CHF in Switzerland. In Germany around 27€. Hope you are having the best time on your trip this summer. Soak it all in and enjoy the cheese to the fullest. I like the way you handle things in not saying the brand name of the cheese you had because you didn’t like it in particular and didn’t want to put them in a bad light.

Rules of engagement Andy and Babe. Say what you truly feel. And it's okay to wait till you both calm down and take some breaths first. Tonight, Andy is NOT ok. Its always ok to send out a note to everyone to say "no vid tonight". Don't let anything come before your well being as a couple. The other shit is not worth it. Your love is what matters. Talk. Relationships die in the conversations that were never had. Ok. Off the old lady soapbox. 😂 Be well. Be happy. ❤️😘

It takes like, 5 seconds to chuck on an anti-cut glove. Maybe if you're a professional an you're using a Mandolin every day, go bare-skin. Everyone else get gloves. If you cut yourself when you didn't use groves or the gaurd, like this comment with a 😥

I love that Katelyn can't cook and doesn't know what she ate. #wagyugate I couldn't believe the poor quality veggies in Qld compared with Tassie or Melbourne. But you do have prime mangoes and avocados. I wear a glove when slicing on my mandolin. I have 4 and they go in the wash after each use. Let's me slice quickly and confidently.

I wondered if anyone else would say Shakey's Pizza! I can still get mouth-watering hungry for their chicken and mojos! Oh! The pain of not being able to get that fix! Their pizza was amazing, too. I'm in my 60s and remember them, as a child, having a piano and banjo player and they had the words on a screen, with a bouncing ball that followed the words of the song. I was learning to read and it was a very fun way to learn new words to fun old songs! My brother's (10 years older than me) 1st job was playing the banjo at Shakey's! He bought one and learned to play it, just so he could work there's and play music for a job. He was 15, at them time, and has played music for a living, ever since. He has played with Michael Martin Murphey for the past 42 years! He is also a southwestern artist, of renown, Gary Roller-Western Artist on FB and garyroller.studio on insta. If you are interested. Oh, and there are still a few Shakey's around on the west coast and in Arizona. I haven't done it, yet, but one day I might get out that way and stop by one! 😋

Absolutely hilarious episode. Cracked us up. Katelyn...."you need an uber". LOL She was lovin' the wine before the taping even began. You go girl! LOL More episodes with you two together please. LOL A couple of comments/suggestions. LOVE this soup and will be doing it soon as the chilly weather continues here in Melbourne. Canadian here, recently moved here last year. 1. A fab local white wine to go with this? Jack Rabbit from the Bellarine region - Pino Grigio. Light, fresh and won't compete with the stronger flavours of the cheese, bacon and herbs. At $32 bucks a bottle, won't break the bank. Support local!! 2. A fab local red - The Musician Cabernet Shiraz from Majella of the Coonawarra region. A steal at $20/bottle. When I was in Canada, working for one of the top law firms in Canada, this was our major partner's fave wine from Australia. Went for $70 bucks a bottle in most high end eateries there. Yes...makes one laugh on the mark up in the Canadian market, but hey, it's a good Aussie wine. I can see this going very well with this comfort soup. 3. IGA/K-Mart. These are still huge in Canada. I remember growing up in the 80's in British Columbia's far north. IGA was the major supermarket there at the time. IGA still has a huge market share in Canada. K-mart still has a few stores there, but not a big as they were in the 80's/90's. Side note, love the wine glasses. They look like Riedel, but had a looksee online, and can't find them. Brand please? 😉😉

I was thinking Sizzler and was still thinking about others when ALAS - what did Kaitlyn say? "SIZZLER" 🤷‍♀️ How the heck did that happen? 🤣 And last time when I think Andy mentioned KMart and they closed down the stragglers in 2020 just 1 month before Covid restrictions! Not a cauliflower lover but I watched the whole video bc this channel is terrific. I do adore a Butternut squash soup, Carrot and New England clam chowder. So, if you're on soup binge 😅 however we are having a heat wave so please intersperse some great sandwiches. I just made cucumber sandwiches. You know, the cream cheese and dill type. I eat zero tuna bc of mercury but I love canned salmon in its place. Some ideas would interest me but that may not fit your genre, IDK. AND please keep singing kitchen tips with Andy ❤ I love it.
