That’s why lots of jarred pestos use walnuts. You put shelled walnuts in a hot dry pan and toast them for a few minutes before chopping.

Exactly that main recipe;convenient and reality of life.Its impossible but not a unachievable to get everyday a fresh ingredients for a Michelin star lunch at home.Therefore huge thumbs up for this to Jamie.❤

Looks really good, I would have added just a 1/2 tsp of turmeric and a little pepper, with the soffrito, for color and all the amazing health benefits

Soffritto? I've always heard it called Mirepoix. I'm Canadian though.

Mirepoix is French, soffrito is Italian. Since this kinda reminds me of a Minestrone, I think the Italian term is appropriate here

pesto pesto pesto. show us one long form recipe of yours! Your own taste🤓. I love eating good food. But I like the Farmer's Markets and growing...I think we have convenience and quick food dow. We need to be reminded and taught how to do things the traditional way. No one knows this information. Besides, the food tastes better.

and how long does the vegies lay around in the freezers in the stores before they get bought and dont forget the huge warehouses where they get stored for who knows how long before they even get into the supermarket

Using fresh all the bits cut off such as carrots onions any bit of the vegetable cut off I freeze till I have a couple of zip lock bags and then make vegetable stock to maximise all the vegetable off cuts and trim
