El Dorado is a very under rated movie :) my only major complaint from it is the complete lack of basic research of their folklore, if they stopped human sacrifices, they believed the sun would go out because the sun god is weak and needs to be fed the sacrifices. This is why Ixtab exists, suicide wasn’t viewed the same as we do, and they were placed on the same insta-paradise as warriors who die defending their home and women who die during childbirth. They viewed all 3 as giving up your life for someone else.

This is, genuinely and truly, a massive improvement over the original, which was already pretty good. Not only are they outright better singers, but the sheer emphasis placed in makes the song far more impactful!
