Bro Kev, since you are self-taught, where did you learn to use the tools for troubleshooting the helpdesk? For example, in AD, a customer gets locked out of their computer?
Through playing around with vms. I have my own lab environment so I always been curious about group policy and how accounts get locked out. Found out later through research that you can lock accounts using group policy and also push out different policies like change someone wallpaper.
is it secure enough to ask for just email and phone number? i would think that would be easy to find online? i thought there might be something like a security question , "who is big money?" something harder to find.
Good evening, could I ask you a question? how can you unlock the account, if turning on ciscoanyconnect leaves as error: '' login failed '' ... how to unlock the account?
so lately i have had a few calls vpn is working on one internet connection but not on the other for example vpn was working on verizon hotspot but not on spectrum internet. one call was very interesting the vpn was not working at her home but was working literally 7 houses down on her mother home. any ideas?
I seen it a few weeks ago on someone machine. That's why I said check ipv4. I mentioned that issue on Danish live training a few weeks ago. The vpn had an update that was forcing a random ip address on the nic card so vpn wouldn't work. This was specific to certain network service providers.
@@ihameed issue was, whenever you hit connect on VPN it would change the ip address of the ipv4 and stopped it from working or connecting. That's super rare by the way. It was a corrupted profile and vpn update.
very helpful! what about getting an error msg: Unable to connect Wrong credentials?!? using Cato VPN duo authentication? Is this is the same as account Locked? I'm fresh out of school starting my IT Support Helpdesk career? My IT guy mentioned my error msg was an infrastructure issue and it happened to more than 1 user IDK... he synced with my desktop and did something on the backend. Not sure if this was a test for me.
Push notifications were coming to my phone, I was getting authenticated but vpn error msg occurred after 2nd step authentication. What would cause this?
I've tried to download Cisco AnyConnect and it says I would need to be a customer with active AnyConnect Apex, plus or VPN only term/contracts. what should I do?
This is cisco any connect. I'm not familiar with that software. It depends on the company and what they use. This is basic troubleshooting for VPN issues. Every company has a different software but this will be some stuff you might want to troubleshoot like account locked out or password change, etc. Just basic level of troubleshooting vpn. Each company has it's own vpn software but it will always be a similar problems like account locked, password reset, locked out of 2 factor authentication. That's what the point of the video is for. Of course, the vpn software is different but you still need to understand basic troubleshooting steps.
that goes back to your networking team, this isn't networking stuff. This is a braw overview for someone in IT Support. We wouldn't dig that deep in support.
depends on the company, our company focuses on certificate and profile. We don't worry about hostfile. Usually our laptops are fully image by the company image. It depends on the company and how it's set up. This is also a basic video for new people in tech, I don't want it to get too complicated.
You can always pause the videos if it's too fast. Can't do anything for missing vpn profile as level 1 support. You can only run gpupdate/force. The network admin needs to make a new configuration file for the user.
