the worst part is hwo this entire mission is structured to make you think that once they reach the ship its game over...except its not, its the timer that decides that, so once they go to the ship they are just gonna stand there for another 5 minutes, And you literally have to be mentally challenged or never interacted with a videogame before to fuck something like this up, as i did it when i was just 6 years old.
Omg I got so pissed off in a few of the games when I found alternate paths only to be failed because I didn't follow the right path. It makes these missions that do have alternate paths hard to distinguish from others.
That door is a Templar lair, part of the Bonfire of the Vanities & Secret Locations DLC. They are similar to Assassin tombs but their prize is just a lot of florins.
@@ghostlyriverspirit6984 They were in the old version of the game! I haven't played the newer version but, as far as I know, they didn't add any new content that wasn't already there, just new graphics and new bugs xD
Yes I agree, the similar doors can be found in ACB as well, in its Da Vinci Disappearance DLC. The missions are pretty wholesome as well with some unique puzzles and mesmerizing environments, different from traditional memory missions.
This would have been so immersive. Ezio is an assassin, not a cop chasing a suspect. The target would have basically seen Ezio in the melee, and took off running, only to arrive in a safe location having not seen Ezio anywhere behind him in chase at all. Then Ezio appears from above.
Yeah, to me this is the more correct lore accurate thing for Ezio to do, not take the direct route of just chasing them down but doing some crazy parkour to cut them off and abush them. They don't see it coming.
I wish there was more like this, like for example you could see the target's destination, or even his route, and you can choose any route you want within a certain time limit
@@xooperz It'd have been good if they maybe gave a quick look around before dropping you in, like your character analyzing the surroundings and options. Like other games give close ups on the details of your objective or aids.
@@XilujenI read manuals if I have the physical manual. I don’t like how digital manuals require internet. Anyway I don’t think they meant game manual. I think they meant to say game guide book.
You're gonna have to wait a long time bud, according to leaks from mostly reliable sources they're remaking AC4 and then AC1 for some reason. AC4 doesn't even need a remake and I can already imagine them fking up the combat system.
You know how in the Marco Barbarigo assassination, Dante Moro is an unbeatable guard that the game puts in your path to make it impossible to get out of detection by killing all the guards? I killed him by colliding with him near water. It's fun breaking the lore like this.
@applejuice565 I did this in my most recent playthrough. Does not desync, and yes he just reappears later. I think he died either 2 or 3 times. But I forget what the 3rd might have been
You’ve got rose-tinted glasses. The reason it took this player “10 years” to realize this existed is because 90% of the time you can’t do shit like this. Most of the time with chase sequences, if you dare to try and go in another direction, the game will start yelling at you to “REDUCE DISTANCE TO TARGET” before saying “MISSION FAILED: Target Lost” and forcing you to start over at the last checkpoint. I agree that there are things I like better in the old games compared to the new games, but I’m not going to pretend that “creative freedom” was one of them. The restrictions these games put on you were one of the biggest criticisms they received back in the day, in fact.
that also makes the cutscene afterwards more credible cause you got them both in one kill instead of killing them separately and then by magic they appear beside each other
that's technically how it should've been done. at least from what i've just seen on the official AC2 game guide didn't stop me from finishing the game 3 times going the other route though lol
They had the Italian translation of the game (for Italian players), why making an English speaker use Italian instead of taking the excerpt from the ita dubbing? Who knows
I love that GTA 4 mission when you are meeting someone in a torn down old hospital ruin, to sell a lot of drugs, only to get ambushed by like 50 swat operatives... you can actually(really tricky) enter the building alternatively from the back of the complex, plus climb the broken benches(scaffolding?? Not sure about the word) by jumping straight up from a huge wooden wheel-like object, grabbing onto a wooden board that used to hold the ceiling and climbing up Assassin'a s Creed style(really really tricky). That way you find yourself on the destroyed upper level/first floor/ of the ruined structure, leveled with the heavy-hitting swat guys. Normally, you would stumble through the ground-floor hallways while being destroyed by gunfire from the floor above, but this way(even if maybe not even intended) you are dealing with the ambush in a pretty different, unique way.
Done similar things on almost all "assassinations" of the early games over the years. Enjoyed the experimentation and fails (testing the boundaries) more than the actual wins when I found one. I'm currently toying with the horrific tail missions and trying to find fun and rhythmically flowing challenges that look smooth and nice. Appreciate the upload.
i bought this game on release and have played it probably 7-8 times since then, didn't figure out high profile ledge assassinations existed until last year
I love it when you can find ways to think outside the box. I remember an early mission, where you race your brother to the top of a church. At first, it was pretty hard for me to chase after him, but then I just climbed up the face of the building and it was super easy.
when you’re fighting out the front gate you can actually climb up the side of the front gate of L’Arsenale and assassinate Silvio as he’s barking orders at the top but the game will still get you to chase him in the next part of the mission
The dead eyes was one of the last things they were trying to figure out with realistic graphics & cinematic cutscenes. I forget when they finally cracked it, but I know if was after this game came out. Lol
Man this game was so good. The world felt so alove just to run around in. The part kn this video where ezio is climbing the boats is so great bc it shows how traversal in the older ac games was like a puzzle and actually requored some degree of thought to get from point A to point B how you wanted. The newer games you kust hold straight and climb thru everything like spiderman :/
If you play AC1 theres a straightforward way to do the assassinations but if you complete all the side missions before that the game gives you clues about recommended path to take, location of guards etc to make it wayy easier than it is. Its always been ubisofts intention(during their golden era alteast) to have a lore accurate way of doing things
I didn't know about this, but a tip for the traditional route- when he deploys the lines of guards to block you, jump right before you get into sword range. Causes them to fuck up more than it breaks your stride & at least you get back to your feet without stumbling.
Honestly after all the games I've played, I can almost easily say, AC2 has the best adventure of all time. The story, the highs and lows, the emotions, the brilliant twists and deep meaning, the amazing side characters, the most beautiful world, graphics still hold up. The AC game I've replayed the most, at least 7 times. AC2 🐐
I have never completed this mission any other way. Because i was to bad at the game to just chase them. Then i found this exact path. Awh the memories of at least 12 years back
This outcome is actually very fitting for this persecution, and I'm sure Ezio could do just that, unfortunately us players were taught to follow our targets closely or be desyncronized... Well done friend! Was a pleausure to see a way I could not see!
I didn't realise there was any other way... although I always waited on the ship's mast and dropped from there onto them, out of reach of the soldiers.
In my first walkthrough on PC (back in 2010th) got them both with double kill before they get to the ship. Unfortunately, the later years, of replaying the "FAVORITE GAME of series" it never happened(((( But still remember this double kill.
I just learned today, honestly I probably wouldn't have tried it myself. As cool as this is, it would never be allowed in games with the full synchronization requirements.
There is something that blows me away more! The remaster version runs on the PS5 at 30 frames and... has, massive lags when browsing the map 🤦♂️ No wonder the best Assasins Creed style game is Ghost of Cushima.
@@EmpireZzzz God of War, the PS4 version has a 60 fps patch for PS5. The same for The Last of Us 2 PS4. Is it possible? You can only have to want to. All it takes is a small patch you don't just have to do the whole PS5 version.
@@Durzy007 Both of these games were released after 2016 though. Also, both of them were published by Sony and are console exclusives for PlayStation consoles.
I thought there was a certain distance you could be away from the target before you automatically fail for being too far away, or am I thinking of another game?
