Advice..I used to do this for a job 9 hours a night do not rub with the cloth..get a smooth “bone” and gently smooth it over don’t use the heat gun too close or for a prolonged time as you’ll damage the texture of the seats and possibly burn great video though keep it up!

Hi - this sounds like good advice so i have pinned this to the top of the list. Just need to find myself a small skull then....

powerfulukltd yes! 😂 I’m sorry I don’t have a proper name we called it a “bone” but I’m sure it was some form of reinforced plastic it was completely smooth edged and heat resistant I hope that helps!

Hello I like your tutorial videos about EVOQUE I’m learning many things, I have HSE DYNAMIC but a few weeks ago I had accidents over the lid cover of the cup holder ( center ) for accident leave a car deodorant those look like tree on the lid and I wonder if you try any cleaning to wipe the mark of the deodorant because left like oil on and don’t look shine like is or any recommendations I appreciate you ..thanks

My center panels are perforated….not sure did they are leather or vinyl. If vinyl can I still use this technique? Pain my have to be even more careful.

i am far from an expert but surely rubbing the leather at the same time as heating it up will stretch the leather more ( making it looser than when you started)

You may well be correct but did not notice this

This should work on leather and vinyl

I did this with success about a year ago, the leather went from saggy, raised off the foam surface to perfectly tight and smooth. But literally the next morning it had returned to it’s saggy state (exactly the same pattern/shape it was). How do i stop this happening? I don’t want to overdo it with more heat - any ideas? I was using a heatgun for reference

Interesting - when we have done this repair the seat has regained its original form - be careful using too much heat.

if the leather wants to go back to its original form, would I have a cow shaped seat if I apply heat for too long?

the dents are actually the "abnormal state" so the seat is happy to revert to its natural state...yes they stayer fine

Safer to use hair dryer?
@L663
@L663 5 лет назад
yes - but not sure it will quite get hot enough - but worth a try.
@HighExposureMedia

Is there a certain amount of time you’re suppose to wait? I used a hair dryer to make sure I didn’t ruin the leather and it’s worked both times but when I sit back down, I notice it starting to form again. I’m going to let to sit over night and put some weight on it and see if it works. I hope the cushion isn’t indented

You may need a little more heat - do you have a source of steam - a garment steam cleaner ?
@HighExposureMedia
@HighExposureMedia 2 года назад
@@L663 no but I’m willing to get one if it will fix it. I also believe I need to use steam, I don’t think the hair dryer or heat gun is going to get it. The leather is thick and it’s stretched I think from previous own

I’ve tried using a hairdryer, it made the dents fade a bit but I’m sure with the concentrated heat from a heat gun will have better results. My advice is to apply some leather cream on the area that is being heated
