It happen to me accidentally i touched the middle pin with 19v on Lenovo G50....then the Super i/o gone...then i ordered a new one and replaced the board is working perfectly...thanx Mr. Sorin

Why don't you tuck in the pins at the opposite corners first? When you air solder the surface tension of the molten solder will drag the chip into position.

sorin, next time just use the keyboard , when i saw you strugglinh with hdmi i remembered that the keyboard is used to see if the display is coming

Lenovo use resistor from ground to id pin |45 W |120 Ω | |65 W |280 Ω | |90 W |550 Ω | |135W |1 kΩ. | |170W |1.9 kΩ|some models no resistor is 90W

Chips like this I rather solder with my iron, first one pin an than second pin diagonally and then one by one, it takes longer but it is safer.

sir some times in lenovo laptops this issues are common if middle pin voltage is missing i am saying this on the basis of my experience because i repaired a lenovo laptop which is not coming on because thats middle pin voltage was missing and i was surprised by this behavior of a lenovo laptop.

If anybody know why a superio chip can be broken, recently my micro atx mobo broke and it turns out its because the super I/O chip .I need to know because i just ordered a new mobo and i won't let this happen again
