I seem to remember that this was the last piece of test card music played before transmissions began with Children’s Hour. It served as an alert that telly was about to start. Thanks for posting this it took me immediately back to my early childhood.
No. In the late 50s and early to mid 60s the ITA test cards in each ITV area named the local transmitters rather than the programme company. So STV had Black Hill channel 10, Tyne Tees had Burnhope channel 8 and Border had Caldbeck channel 11 and Selkirk channel 13.
