I like vodka to. I use it to put my vanilla beans in and make my vanilla extract. I don't use it for anything else my parents used to add peas not my favorite

I’ve been watching Gina for years….actually cried during first episode! Every time she uses a jar of her sauce, I cringe….watch the episode when she and “hidden” family members jar sauce in her basement….. liquid gold. I love this show. I grew up in Endicott New York, and I’m not Italian or Sicilian, but everybody else around me was. This reminds me of the food I grew up with, I live in California now. And the grandma reminds me of every Italian lady in the town where I up.

Dear, dear Gina, always a treat to see you and get a new recipe. Through the years I have cooked many of your recipes and I always get compliments and appreciation from my sons, I regret that I can no longer can my own tomatoes because I know it would all be better with homemade sauces and home canned tomatoes, but that is the way things are now, so I accept that and carry on. Thanks for sharing
I just made this, following along with Grandma Gina, and it's 100% the real deal! OMG...I can't stop dipping my fresh bread in it. If you are using canned tomatoes, spring for Cento (San Marzano's) or a similar imported tomato. This is every bit as good as the best restaurants (in NJ/NY) use. The best part is when she sings - just love it!! Molte grazie nonna Gina!
