Both the teams are awesome. I think that Italy did a perfect Kata Gankaku and a great Bunkai. Japan Kata was not as difficult as Gankaku and not so perfect... but their Bunkai was simply "the next level".... something never seen before in IMHO. At each pause the public did a storm of applause. That said, my heart is for Italian Team. They are friends of mine and I consider them as examples, both as athletes and masters. :-)
Watched this video again earlier today, I agree with you opinion much more than 4 months ago. Although the example is from a different level, yet the result showed the same.In our Canadian National Championship 2013,the unbeaten old fashioned team ( Team Ontario) since 2006 lost the first time to a younger, fresher, stronger, new look team.( Team B.C.).
Maybe it's the cycle of life... anyway the Italian team is always spectacular to watch... what a pity that they stopped competing, after this world championship! I will miss their sports performances!!
