A thoughtful product with useful items and no gimmicks. Nice work. As for those complaining about the larger billet aluminum container, the price is very reasonable in comparison to other products sold out there. The creative idea to put slots in the lid to secure the straps is great. None of the other sources I found have gone beyond the double sided velcro for securing their lids. Keep up the creativity ITS!
ITS, thank you for his video . Seems good quaility which is important. The small tin can have a length of electrical tape for water proofing. A tampon is a great GSW / dressing and also as tinder. Keep up the good work. Thanks, Greg
You should include a waterproof parchment including information on how to use each content piece to its highest use for noobs and beginners and to jog some ideas.
Then just get the regular survival kit on the right in this video... What's so hard about that, lol? I do agree that 60 is a bit much for an empty container though.
These are great little kits. This is much like the other mini-survival kits that have come before, but ITS has done it up right. Good job guys. Ooh-rah.
just buy some Altoids mints and put your own stuff in it. This way you can custom make it how you want. For the cheapest things go to a dollar store and 60 bucks gets you a whole lotta stuff.
That is an awesome kit. I am going to check out your site to see how they are priced. Most mini-survival kits don't seem that well balanced. It's like after you check out what other manufacturers were putting out you took those deficiencies and then made a much better kit.
The survival kit is nice, looks like quality components. And leaving a little room to personalize it is always good. Nice name drop with Costanza btw. Peace.
What's with all the haters it a unique premium product and priced accordingly. Obviously you could use something else but that is not what is for sale here.
You can't go wrong basing stuff on John McCann's works! I don't put much faith in very small kits but yours seems about as good as you can get in tiny tin.
60 bux for the black empty box. Hey guys save ur money. Send me ten bux I'll give u a bigger better box with a surprise inside. Come on guys what did u expect. 60 I can't believe what people charge for things. It's almost an insult to me. It kinda is. Who would buy this. It's not fair. It's a joke
I think he means to identify your location to someone else. Using it as a signal to be like "Hey I'm over here. I'm reflecting this light so you can notice and identify that I'm a human." or something like that haha.
+RealFarknMcCoy i saw the reflective lid is what has the velcro straps... flipping it backwards and strapping it to yourself, pack, tree, etc for people to find/see you in the dark/snow if that's your intention.
Help to identify your campsite while at night. You hang up the lid where it can reflect your flashlight beam in case you're a little turned around and unsure of where your campsite is.
GreatBigRanz We make our own kits in the Australian , Brit and NZ SAS and in 17 years of doing them I never had need to use the kit fully, only to get the Fresnel Lens once
I don't think so... container needs to be waterproof not resistant.. mirror inside lid... and the strap system looks cheesy.... Velcro typically fails in freezing temps and a better locking system is needed. $15-20 @ best
Must come with fairy dust...............The truth is while these kits are cute and fun to talk about, their usefulness quickly deteriorates in the real world.
I can see others more better and more cheap! Need to be more update for the global economy reality!! I make two full survival kit for that price and added more useful and needed items. This is just only a brand not a really good one product.
Just a word to the wise. Unless you are very adept at outdoor skills these candy tin "survival kits" WILL NOT keep you alive. Another word. Most of these backyard rangers are gear collecting amateurs who've never spent any time in country wilder than their nearest state park. Be VERY careful about whose advice you follow. Most of these people are either trying to sell you a pig in a poke or just showing off their toys.
Why waste time and energy sawing that small of a branch when you could just break it with your leg. in no way are you going to use that saw. The knife maybe if you snared something.
Knife - sux, easy to break and then even harder to use. Box - crappy if not metal, can't be used for boiling water, cooking food etc. Price - Just a laugh. You can buy each of those items via eBay AND including shipping get it cheaper.
Jesus 60 bucks for a small kit, spend 50 at any dollar store type place and come out with a backpack full for a survival kit. Only a newbie would spend 60 on a altoid sized kit you can make for 3 bucks.
I'm not sure but ,if anyone else wants to discover food for earthquake survival kit try Franaar Spies Control Formula (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.
Keeping warm, boiling water, signaling, provide light in the darkness. Many points to starting a fire. The kit did include snare wire so the potential of catching something to eat is there.
