I found your channel while looking up mic reviews, but these mixing videos have really encouraged me to give it a go myself. I've learned a lot! I really appreciate all the effort you put into these, man!
Aye man that was insane, youre like all in one, goddamn that your mix sounded insane (not that the artists mix sound bad cuz I actually like it a lil bit more raw if you ya know what i mean) I would love to participate in one of those but my songs are in portuguese :')
You're literally the best. These tutorials do so much for beginners who know how to use their DAW but don't know so much about production. Also you're interacting with your community is just wholesome. Keep up the good work!
It's interesting to hear the difference. Fox's vocals sounds like it's on top or above the instruments. Haze's vocals sound like like it's sitting inside the instruments. In a good way
I'll give you my raw acoustic guitar that I cover on my channel. I can't get rid of that transient. Want to learn how to make it softer so listener can relax while listening...
Goodness, Ricky. I'm an utter fan of your mixing style, taste, skill or whatever is at play here. Absolutely love your version of the song, and love the way you walk us through your thoughts and decisions in your mixing process. Really hope more mixing videos are in the pipeline!
Could you please do a tutorial on how to learn to mix on garage band!! love your videos, I can't stomach other videos on music production (ADHD) but your videos really are engaging and clear love it
What would be the equivalent of a routing folder in Ableton? Should I just group all the backing tracks and add the processing on that group or does the routing folder your talking about in Protools send the processing to each track separately somehow?
Thank you. There are a lot of "RU-vidrs" that do mic reviews and audio stuff and they are talking out of their back when it comes to audio. They can't tell the different between a good or bad audio signal.
I liked this video at so many points throughout that I ended up liking and removing the like repeatedly till I ultimately realized what I was doing n left the like button alone.
WOW that is INSANELY generous of your Rainer that is the most of I have ever received by far. I can not thank you enough for this, you are truly a saint!!
Big fan from Mexico. I usualy have the izotope vocal doubler in the background vocals if I don't feel I have enough takes but you mention chorus for stereo image, can you go a little more deep into it?
I would love to! Yeah vocal doubling can have amazing results, rather than doing it via plug in. You do have to be a very good singer though, capable of duplicating the same vocal take very similarly
Ive been watching your vids since about one week and been binge watching all of them, i believe your channel is the most "to the point" channel out there for music. Severely underrated and deserves way more recognition, you drop a lot of nuggets of info and knowledge. Hope you get waay more viewers in the next months! Saludos from spain.
very interested to hear this mix in mono. Perhaps focus your next video on that topic? I think stereo is kinda dying (not counting headphones since they are not true stereo)
not sure if he was doing a hi-pass radio effect on purpose, but this is like night and day, this is what separates good mix from bad, in my opinion. And lots of indie people, myself included made this mistake, but slowly a few of us learn. You can see what I mean with my own music, earlier songs are not as clear when it comes to vocals or they are too clear and jarring, later on I learned a few tricks, still learning, but vids like this really help.
