yep, that's why Ruijerd said the spear is his son's soul, Ruijerd abandoned his own spear to gain Laplace's thus after forcefully woken up by his son, he swore to do better and carried his son's spear to remind him of his mistake, so really the detail and meaning isn't much left out.

The manga told and "showed" it better..

also what the fathers say, that they miss Roxy because she made everything more lively, how the rest of the village required to talk around her they feel that Roxy made it more lively, but Roxy didn't understand that from her point of view as a youngling.

Me don’t think it was skipped but will be touched in a future episode. Remember sometimes anime can move around minor details in different parts of the story so I think people are jumping the gun saying it was skipped. We gotta let the story run their course for the first season. I bet you anything it will be brought up later for Roxy’s back story

It's really clever too. Hitogami is a being of higher dimension, right? So in a 2d anime he is portrayed using 3D CGI, making him uncanny over everything else. Looks stunningly good too.

Learning the new language is great. I specially like that they show him having a tough time mastering and it took the help of two native speakers (Roxy and Ghyslaine) for him to master it. Plus it actually took 2 years for him to do so. On any other basic isekai anime they would appear on a new world with the understanding of all language from the beginning or the other world would strangely speak Japanese.

I'm a sucker for fantasy language-building, I'm really curious how they came up with it and if it's actually a halfway-functional language or just thematic gibberish.

@@WhitepawWolfGaming I don't know their creation process, but I am actually a writer who created a custom language for the elves of my world. "Tiirapar a akakisu endimason ushmahtel u usen." (Creating the Elven language is challenging but rewarding.) It is a fair amount of work, and I often find myself referencing the dictionary I created only to find I actually haven't created a word for whatever I'm wanting to have a character say and thus I need to go through and make a new word. (I actually created the word "ushmahtel" to mean "challenging" as I was writing that sentence just now.) However, creating new words actually gets easier the more words you already have. You can usually find some way to form a compound word with something that already exists in the language. (ush = the process of (equivalent to "ing" in English,) mah = borrowed sumerian word for challenge, tel = fight or struggle. Last part wasn't necessary, but I had to do something to not have it exactly the same as Sumerian. Thus, sumerian "mah" becomes "mahtel.") I imagine I am making the job quite a bit harder on myself because I'm not just making a 1 to 1 word translation cypher here. Rather, I am creating it as an entire language with words that have unique meaning in my version of Elven. For instance, in the sentence above, "usen" is the word I translated as "rewarding." Usen specifically means to derive internally driven benefit from the process of doing something. So, "rewarding" is a completely accurate translation, but it does not have any association at all with the English term "rewrd" which could be something given as a prize from an outside sorce. I imagine the team who made Mushoku Tensei didn't put this heavy of an effort into it since they are not trying to culture craft off the back of their language like I am.

@@conanedogawa4798 1-to-1 word translation seems a lot easier but I do love asymmetry, there's all sorts of words in every language that don't have true analogs in others. Good shit, man! The level of detail people such as you can put into something like this makes me wonder what would happen if a dozen or so avid worldbuilders got together to create one product.

I love the Neir/Drakengard chaos language, which is an amalgamation of all languages on earth, in context to those games, it makes sense.

I remember Dragon ball super just reverse the sentence and characters to create the god language.

@@ChibiReviews The rough animation on his anger was amazing! on the novel Rudy tells many times about who Rujierd can be scary when he wants but honestly it do not get the point across. like the anime did.

I'm especially glad they had Ruijerd mention he wouldn't hesitate to kill an entire town if that was what it takes to get the kids home safe. It really shows who he is, kind but dangerous.

I'm fairly certain a god wouldn't have language problems.

Plus the fact that he called it the six sided world suggests that there should be at least six god-like beings or more. Although it could also refer to the species of the world.

Neither "Demon God" nor "Beast God" are actual transcendent being though. "God" in this particular case is only tittle quantifying their power and it's pretty obvious they didn't invent language they speak.

The human language is just that. It's the only language that doesn't have god in its name. The god title is the title of the strongest within a race. The human god is the strongest human but it doesn't mean he's a god. It means tho that he does possess the ability to traverse between the six worlds of the six faced world. That is the only unique ability of the ones who have the god title. We know of this from the history of the world book that rudy summarized in the novel right when he started to learn other languages. On to the human god. We know of one from that book I just mentioned. Aldebaran. He was someone who fought in the human demon wars. Not really a deity. In this universe there is only one deity really that we actually have seen the body of. That's hitogami, or to be precise, the body he inhibits is that of an actual god, but he does not possess any of the abilities of that god. And now for hitogami, also known as mangod. He is the self proclaimed human god. We don't know much of his backstory but we can determine that he was probably a human. And all I can say is this. If the fact that he is voiced by the same person who voiced Orocimaru did not give away that he is a bad guy, a villain of the show, I don't know what will. Didn't the way he talk and how he acts give it away? The fact that he calls himself a god despite not knowing everything?

It wasn't just the human race. The spears caused them to lose reason and attack anyone even their own family.

In the manga, the scenes about their losing their minds to the spears were quite gruesome

LN reader here. yes the multiple world structure and hitogami(human god) have important role in the story,i'd even say this series main driving narative revolve around that

The novel never covers the whole truth about the gods, as far as I can tell Rudeus (and by extension us) doesn't need to know everything about everyone in order to interact with them. Most of the holes in the lore are filled in the side stories, but we only get one specific character's POV at a time and thus their backstory, sometimes even a bit of exposition regarding the context. Rudeus mostly only stumbles upon these informations, in other cases he's discreet enough to not ask directly and thus he never learns about the finer details of someone's story. With the gods it's a similar situation: most of the things are explained, but there will always be something missing, it's natural when writing a story, especially one that is not entirely dependent on exposition. Also, this is the anime: don't expect them to explain vague statements, that's the novel's job.

at least this is the best introduction an isekai has got so far (i also like i am a spider quite a bit this season, but the universe of mushoku tensei looks much richer in all regards). as much as i like re zero now, i have to say i considered the first season was quite... special (in a bad way) at first.

The God characters usually show up in the first episode of an Isekai because they are responsible for the reincarnation. On the other hand, Hitogami has nothing to do with Rudeus' reincarnation (spoiler: nor the two summons, one mistaken, one intentional in order to save the world from a great evil; another is responsible for all of the summons and reincarnation.)

theres more than 11 episodes, if i remember right its 24 and will be long running so likely more seasons.

They skip some details so reading the LN is best if you want to know everything tht they skipped

@@rajairfan2768 The official LN only took out a line or two from volume 2 and changed some wording from volume 1 as far as I know. As someone who's read both the WN and LN, I highly recommend you go with the LN because it's far more understandable and explains things a lot better.
