This just shows how confidence affects the learning process of a language. They barely use any korean in their english interviews now, and i love how all the members are talkative during English interviews not only Lia. Ryujin is definitely the closest to fluency after Lia, but the other members are doing great, especially Yeji, i am so proud of her. I think in a year or two all of them will be able to speak fluently considering how fast they progressed and improved.
Yeji has already improved so much since the last time I saw the group do an English interview, and Yuna too. They were both a little behind the others with their English but they're coming on leaps and bounds now, and it's nice to see their confidence improving.
So proud of them. Their English has improved so much! I’m really thankful that they really made an effort to study English to communicate with International fans better. Love them for that!
Theyve become so confident communicating with their international fans now. Their dedication in studying just to break the language barrier shows a lot and its heartwarming. Love you forever best queens
Genuinely shocked how good their English is. This language is is extremely hard and they’re just speaking like no big deal. And Lia, dear god, I would never know she’s from anywhere outside of North America. These girls are so adorable.
@@hoonslatinobf you said that you like it that char learned English from friends and also Namjoon learned English from friends so that why I thought you like it that char learned English from friends
@@chayazeff1995 nope. I like how she mentioned it in every English interview so far. Didn’t even know Namjoon learned English that way. Regardless, didn’t have anything to do with him.
Yes for sure. I love that she watching Friends. I would totally watch along with her to see her reactions. I've seen all 10 seasons but would watch again
I love them so much their English is really fun and cute. It’s interesting seeing what words they know based on what kind of English they must’ve been surrounded by. Like how Yuna knows the word ranked and she knows the expression “they killed it” but she’s not superfluent. Same thing with Yeji and the phrase “I can’t” lol. They must be reading the fans’ comments on their videos
ITZY NON ENGLISH SPEAKERS ARE SO MUCH IMPROVED!! Yeji and Ryujin (ryujin has always been decent) are so much better especially. Also yes guys watch kdramas, I’ve been doing that for a while and I can understand Korean decently and can even speak it and I’ve also basically mastered the Seoul dialect, trying to learn some satoori now. It makes you sound very native if you watch shows!
Lia, the second girl on the right, is actually a Canadian grown up in Korea. That is why she did all the casual talking and paired up with Yeji who was supposed to be the worst. Come to think of it, I am amazed with Yeji's new found assertiveness in English. She sounded so much better now and her confidence was beaming. Ryujin, the girl in the middle, is who I am amazed the most. She is good at everything. She is the non-English speaker who actually speaks English well enough. That is probably why ITZY was split into two teams so that Lia and Ryujin could be the safety net.
@@egaskrad Lia isn't Canadian, she's Korean and spent some time growing up in Canada. So yes, she's better at English because she spent time abroad, but she's still native Korean and English isn't her first language. I agree that Yeji has improved massively in her English though!
When I said Canadian, I mean she grew up in Canada thus have a strong Canadian culture background, not technically having a Canadian passport. Sorry if I was misleading.
@@egaskrad it's more than misleading, but I get what you're saying. You have to remember that nationality is always where you were born, not where you were raised. Much the same as Rosé and Jennie of Blackpink - Rosé is kiwi even though she grew up in Australia, and Jennie is Korean even though she spent a good chunk of her childhood in New Zealand. It's not a passport thing or a cultural shift thing, it's all about your nationality. Even if we shift the lens to ethnicity, everyone mentioned above is Korean because that's their bloodline. A lot of people can get very offended over having their nationality or ethnicity misplaced, for good reason. I don't know if this reads as aggressive, but I'm just trying to give you a little perspective on the issue, not to argue 👍🏻
I feel so spoiled that they're now doing Interviews in English!!! And thank you to Jisoo for acknowledging international Midzy who might not know Korean (well). We might have to google the translation for the Korean parts but your performance and concepts deliver the message quite well. And the true artistry is not just the lyrics but communicating through music. That's why K Pop works internationally. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Other Midzys go to ITZY concerts, buy albums, so they live their life be a Midzy. I'm just happy that my own country's language was mentioned in the ITZY video. THIS IS MY LUCK.
So many interviews they are doing and around 4 interviews were in the same clothes. Love the round games and chaeryeong good recommendation to watch k dramas to learn Korean or for me watch a variety show like running man
AHHH worlds collided. I used to watch this channel a lot but college I got busier; however, I love itzy so this makes me feel very happy! loll Chaeryeong learning English from Friends haha so many of my favs have done that. and yes Kdramas help with Korean haha
2:05 what was your reaction? Itzy : we were surprised Itzy ( inside ) : gurl~ it's nothing new for us 😌🤘 that was expected of our fans 😎 Thanks my babies
Google translate is not 100% accurate so I think the take a phrase then translate through a bunch of different languages and the phrase gets messed up grammatically so they have to guess what the messed up phrase means
at this point that should be a selling point of the show lmao like they should market it to foreign audiences by showing how these kpop idols are all learning english with it
It always makes me chuckle when interviewers ask/inform idols about their RU-vid views. Fans obsess over it, but they barely give a reaction every time cuz they clearly do not care lol. It makes like no difference for them. I doubt they see any of that money from views for themselves, so why care lol.
They’re probably really happy that their fans are dedicated but you’re right when it comes down to it I’m sure more idols pay attention to rankings on billboard and worldwide and album sales bc that’s how they make money lmao Edit: spelling
