The fans. THE OBSESSIVE FANS. In a sad and heartbreaking speech they had the urge to scream like crazy. One of the most disrespectful moment that I saw in my whole life.
I love how all the artists were mindblown by her speech as if they were thinking "finally someone uses their platform to speak up about these issues, thank you".
Geez, I get it. I'd fangirl over my faves as well but there's a time and a place for that. During a serious and emotional speech about losing a loved one to suicide? Yeah, not the right time guys...
she's lost so many friends to suicide...i can't imagine how much that must hurt and how hard it would be to continue to act happy for all her fans. stay strong
WTF ARE THESE FANS DOING AND WHY TF IS THE CAMERA FOCUSING ON OTHER IDOLS WHILE IU IS GIVING A VERY SERIOUS AND EMOTIONAL SPEECH ABOUT SOMEONE WHO DIED ! IT MUST BE CRAZINESS, NOT RESPECTING LIKE THAT
The cameraman is showing the other Idols reaction but like you are right, the cameraman should Focus on Iu not other Idols but even If they are facing the camera to other Idols fans should have some manners and they should know that this is something serious so we can't scream like that.
I think it was a good idea actually, the camera panning on the idols right when IU was saying "These artists are people too..." maybe it's just me, but it had a profound impact while I was watching, seeing the very people that IU was talking about in her speech.
"It's sad and frustrating that our reality will not allow us to dwell in that sadness for as long as we want" the harsh, bitter truth. The way of telling some people that idols are humans too, they also have emotions. Thanks IU, for this much needed speech.
Those fans were really disrespectful. The cameramen was too. They shouldn't focus other Idols while IU is giving a serious speech. And fans shouldn't be fangirling/fanboying either
The fandom shouldn't of screamed like that when they saw the boys...like I understand that youse were happy and excited to see them, but not when were talking about losing a loved one..its disrespectful to the boys and to IU as well as Jonghyun..anyways, forver in our hearts Jonghyun💜💜
These are the same fans who go around 'rip jonghyun' 'i miss him' 'miss our angel' on youtube. Its much easier to just type 'rip' when they hear of somebody passing away.
I still keep coming back here whenever I feel extremely sad. I feel like her words can really deeply comfort me and reminds me that it is okay not to be okay and it is okay to rest. Thank you, IU.
This speech was really heartbreaking and shame on those who shouted. IU knew the darkness of the industry and experienced it firsthand, voicing out on it and encourage idols to take a step back, breathe when they have to. To me she was brave and inspiring even when she is experiencing the loss of her friend.
This scenario where fans are screaming when they are not supposed to..kind of reminds me of Taeyeon's mv of 'Can't control myself' where she was covered in cut wounds all over her body but the audience thought it was part of the performance so they clapped and cheered instead like they enjoyed the show..and she wore a bitter smile as the curtain closes.
No wonder she is respected in the industry, she's so well spoken. She said such important things in like the littles amount of words, it'll touch everyone out there.
How ironic that iu's beautiful speech touched on how many idols can relate to Jonghyun and I'm sure many of the ones shown when the camera panned round were thinking just that when the fans start to disrespectfully cheer.
Celebrities are professional but still made of the same genes and emotions like you and I.....I'm really thankful to IU for pointing out that.... you can be anyone's fan and keep supporting them as much as you want but while doing, don't involve in hating others...we can't stan all artists but we can respect and love all, your simple time pass comment or words can be someone's source of joy or reason of pain...so choose wisely while expressing yourself
She is saying the truth that she is feeling she is telling others to not to hide there pain but she is also hiding so much emotions inside she is showing that she is strong but ik she cry every day 🙂😞.
Sometimes, there are moments that I want to rip someone's mouths.. Some fans were just so obsessive and inconsiderate. That is why artsist and idols have heavy burdens in their shoulders because of pressures and pleasing those unsympathetic fans. Ugh, imma move on💔
the camera man is just so ..... can he just focus the camera on iu who is speaking and also this fans shouting loudly not knowing someone is speaking how disrespectful
Iu always take care of everyone first🤧 and everyone always love her💌nobody deserve to hate her she and other artust doesnt deserve any hate they have their own live ...please respect each other💌
Can't get over the fact that some fans thought it was appropriate to cheer during this heartfelt tribute speech just cause their faves appeared on a screen for a second. Vile. This world is so vile. I bet they don't even feel an ounce of shame.
Screaming while someone giving a heartfelt messages and realization as an artist while fandom are extremely screaming when their favorites r showed on screen is nothing but stupidity give some respect not only to the person who is giving speech also give some respect to the family who lost a very important part of their family.
She loved Junghyun so much. unfortunately things like that still happens and the industry is not senstive enough. We've lost too much people. Fans most start thinking Idols are not objects
Why they(fans) say they are sad ,disappointed and many other things we all know we are the reason for idols to be perfect slim beautiful even if they sad they have to pretend they are happy we have to change we have accept their reality their effort their talent we have to motivate them We need to be change our mindset
the fans were so disrespectful. in the middle of IU's emotional speech they had the audacity to scream when they saw the other groups, that's just disrespectful, it's like telling IU and Jonghyun that they are not needed. goes to show that many fans really don't see idols as humans.
The cheering despite this heartwarming speech is how you know a good number of these fans that show up at award shows are mentally ill. Notice how most of the crowd stayed silent, aka the normal people that know when to cheer and when to be respectful, and now notice the mentally ill obsessive fans that are cheering to get their oppars attention during a speech about their oppars mental health being important by one of their most respected colleagues.
Nuh uh.. Nuh uh! We're not gonna do the "the camera man's at fault" Route. No! If you're a decent human being well you'll be focusing on the speech rather than the idols. They screamed at the idols shown to give reaction to the speech already means they're careless af about the speech and just pointed themselves to their faves. This is just disappointing
Literally, wtf is wrong with these fans? She’s dedicating her speech to Jonghyun and trying not to cry while these fans are cheering at the sight of other idols… They disgust me
Hopefully in the future awards nights, if someone do speech (group or solo) the camera should focus on the speaker not to other idols, so that fans (obsessive fans) respect the person whose talking and understand their speech.
The some fans are incredibly disrespectful and it shows that they aren’t even paying attention to what IU is even saying. All they see in the big screen is their favorite group and cheer. IU is speaking out about the serious issues regarding the idol universe and how they are expected to not feel anything but happiness and cheer all the time. It’s truly upsetting because they are still people and have the same “weaknesses” as everyone else. The pressure not just from society but also from the companies to perform regardless of both physical, emotional, and mental state stretched thin and heavens help they have bad days! Because should they act like the flawed humans they are, they get judged no matter what and the hate just piles on. When will bullying and abuse of all types stop? How many more people have to succumb to the horrendous hate from jealous people that they feel like they have nowhere else to go before they make that final decision? It so true of that saying, “Misery loves company.”
Tbh I'd be the kind of fan who screams like crazy when I'd see my biases, but come on, these were korean fans, they knew exactly what IU was talking about, and they really HAD to scream like this AT THIS MOMENT?! It's just so disrespectful, even disgusting. Embarrassing for the groups, for IU obviously, and disrespectful to Jonghyun. Ugh, they're so pathetic. (and no, imo it's not the cameraman's fault, he probably assumed they would have some damn respect. For example, during SHINee's From Now On and Our Page's concerts after Jonghyun's passing, fans were supporting them quietly. I guess staff thought it would be okay here too.)
It’s so annoying how the fans are freakin screaming when their oppas are on screen when literally the speech is about fighting through an artist’s lowest. Like wtf. That’d kinda messed up.
I still gets frustrated seeing the cameramen turning the camera towards the other idols and audience while IU was giving such an emotional and important speech. Not only this but all the fans screaming in such a respectful moment, it's such an ignorance for real.
While we all feel a distaste for the reaction of the fans, remember that kpop artists deliberately and openly take advantage of the whole celebrity crush thing - they AIM to build up a fandom, a fandom that is loyal, and please you guys you *know* what that loyalty is made of like 90% and more. Infatuation. Crushing. Going crazy over someone. So yeah ofc they would react this way. These fans were not funneled into a fandom of acring reasonable cause then they wouldn't go out of their way to attend these events, to buy all the merch, to vote for all the award shows, etc. It is a time commitment, an effort commitment, and a financial commitment. So go be disappointed but remember this is what the industry is build on. And we take part in that. I stopped. I stopped overpraising people, acting like just because someone dances really well or has a really nice aesthetic (face, clothes, etc) that they are somehow at the top of something big and meaningful. They're not. It's art. Art is what it is. Let's stop glorifying art. Let's just enjoy it for the art/artisric value it has. Let's stop calling these people kings and queens even as a joke bcs the 12 and 13 year olds do not understand that's a joke bcs it's just voiceless text on a screen. Then we complain about the new generation of fans but we _made them_ by ushering them into a culture they couldn't fullt comprehend bcs _their brains are still developing._ The entertainment companies and to large degree the artists themselves do this on purpose. Gah... life is not sad and bleak without kpop, fr, and you can learn to enjoy kpop while simultaneously condemning what's wrong, unhealthy and even evil about it and not going all in, full commitment into a fandom. It's really ok. It really is ok. It's much more than just ok, it's so much better than being infatuated with a product. And this is coming from someone who was steaight up inlove with a kpop artist and I still know why I was and still think my feelings were real and sincere. I'm not saying it's impossible but by en large it's not what's happening. It's all carefully curated and orchestrated and everything that is authentic is very deliberately allowed to exist bcs it benefits the main purpose.
Omg this is so disappointing, what the hell is their problem, shouting like crazy when there fav idol showed up on screen, like bruh don't you understand what IU is saying on stage?
Sad thing that the fans who support them are a reason for their pain because fans are not only supporting but also are being toxic trying to make them puppets..
Wanna one must’ve felt so damn disgusted by these people and embarrassed to be in that position when it wasn’t even their intention . There’s a reason why idols don’t like to be personal with these so called fans . Whatever the fans might say , they end up being just as disgusting as shown here .
Man this fans... do they not understand the situation? How very disappointing, Im sure their idols felt very disappointed and embarrassed at them with their actions. Yes we know you love your idols but dont be so stupid and disrespectful.
I hate that people who hates the idol for their colour or for their small mistake and sometime without any mistake please dont do that the idols feel very bad and thus they suicide you all haters are responsible for their death
The was in 2018 I believe because this was the 32 GDA , and Jonghyun died on the 18 of December in 2017. Meaning that if this was 2017, then it would of taken place in January 2017, months before Jonghyun died, so It had to be 2018. Also it says 32 on the screens behind her, and that was in 2018 TT.
She had 2 of her bestfriends sullie and jhyong die and of suicide and one of sulliea fried also died because of suicide and of depression because sulpie died so sad 😞
THE "FANS" ARE ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND DISRESPECTFUL. SOMEBODY'S GIVING A SPEECH, ESPECIALLY ABOUT ANOTHER PERSON'S SUICIDE AND YOU'RE SCREAMING AND CHEERING BECAUSE YOUR FAVES ON THE SCREEN? DISGUSTING.
The way some people dont really care but only want to see their idol and their idols reaction, being emotional or empathetic... And all of the jjong videos they make fetishizing the whole situation like this is :*groups reaction to tribute, *'s reaction to crying, any other video about jjong that non shawols have made. Iu is strong, if i was here i wouldve talked smack about those who screamed during her speech.
a) The camera crew really shouldn't have focused on the idols while she was discussing this. I mean, I get it in a way since she was referencing other idols during her speech, but it came across in the wrong way, almost as if they were trying to catch their reaction to her speech to make a headline of it after the show or something. b) Secondly, these fans have me absolutely fuming. We all understand that you love your faves, but it was not appropriate to start screaming during that speech, in fact it was incredibly disrespectful. Imagine if (God forbid) you lost a loved one to suicide, and while you told someone how much it upset you someone started screaming abt their favourite TV show or some sht. I bet it wouldn't feel too great, would it? Anyone who was there and started screaming over their favs during that moment is actually nothing more than a vile, rabid human being.
