Four years ago last Thursday marks the anniversary of the notorious buzzer beater that ignited chaos and derailed John Calipari and the Wildcat's season, leaving Bloomington absolutely electric. Moments like these that captivate the attention of giant masses of people I believe are genuinely priceless. Music can adopt the same feeling, that allows any number of people to share their adrenaline. I've come to realize that media is all connected on some level or another. What you see with what you hear changes how you feel, and with that power comes the ability to share connected moments through all mediums including music. By creating a documentary that captivates some of the nostalgia of Hoosier Basketball history, basically stating how there is almost no program in the country like it, I was able to complement the mise-en-scene with some old footage audio and mixing with Logic's "Young Jesus" and native John Mellencamp's riff used in "Pink Houses." I found sample game footage on RU-vid, while being able to really try to bring the documentary style to the filmmaking techniques I used along with added sound affects. Giving brief notation about the iconic history of Indiana Basketball, I was able to amplify the excitement projected by the documentary by bringing every moment up to the 2011 upset game. Finally, I'm happy to say that the final sample used in the last couple minutes is original. By collaborating the work I've been doing outside of class, I used a verse that I have recently recorded with the artist named Jaco. By being able to use my own music with a video I created, I can really say this class has impacted my ability to create and construct from modern mediums of today.
